'The Broken Line' monument, Tallinn, Estonia
Tallinn, Estonia - The Broken Line Memorial (2018)
This monument was erected on the Suur Rannavärav bastion in Tallinn in memory of those who lost their lives on the 'Estonia' ferry, which sank on the night of 28 September 1994 between Tallinn and Stockholm. 137 people were rescued, but 852 died - 757 of whom were never found.
Tallinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia. It is situated on the northern coast of the country, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland in Harju County. From the 13th century until 1918 (and briefly during the Nazi occupation of Estonia from 1941 to 1944), in languages other than Estonian, the city was known as Reval. Tallinn occupies an area of 159.2 km2 (61.5 sq mi) and has a population of 450,305.
Tallinn, first mentioned in 1219, received city rights in 1248, but the earliest human settlements date back 5,000 years. The initial claim over the land was laid by the Danes in 1219, after a successful raid of Lyndanisse led by Valdemar II of Denmark, followed by a period of alternating Scandinavian and German rule. Due to its strategic location, the city became a major trade hub, especially from the 14th to the 16th century, when it grew in importance as part of the Hanseatic League.
Tallinn's Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tallinn is the major political, financial, cultural and educational center of Estonia. Often dubbed the Silicon Valley of Europe, it has the highest number of startups per person in Europe and is a birthplace of many international companies, including Skype. The city is to house the headquarters of the European Union's IT agency. Providing to the global cybersecurity it is the home to the NATO Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. It is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top 10 digital cities in the world. According to the Global Financial Centres Index Tallinn is the most competitive financial hub in Northern Europe and ranks 42nd internationally. The city was a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku in Finland.

Estonian Victims of COMMUNISM Memorial 1940-1991 | Tallinn | Estonia
The memorial to victims of communism is dedicated to all Estonian people who suffered from the Soviet Union regime. The communist regime was established in Estonia on 17 June 1940 and ended with the restoration of Estonia’s independence on 20 August 1991.
As a consequence of this, Estonia lost one of every five persons from its population of slightly over one million, of whom more than 75,000 were murdered, imprisoned or deported. The Memorial has two parts – the Journey with the name plaques of the victims, and the symbolic Home Garden with informative texts and location stones marking sites of terror.
Memorial was opened in August 2018.

Kommunismiohvrite memoriaal on pühendatud kõigile Nõukogude Liidu terrori all kannatanud Eesti inimestele.

Estonia: Victims of communism and Nazism commemorated on Black Ribbon Day
A day of remembrance for victims of communism and Nazism known as Black Ribbon Day was held in Tallinn, Wednesday. People gathered to commemorate the victims and lay flowers at the base of the War of Independence Victory Column in Freedom Square.
EU justice ministers also held a conference at the Tallinn Creative Hub in Estonia on Black Ribbon Day, where they discussed the formation of a new body to investigate crimes committed under communism as well as crimes committed by surviving communist officials.
There are those that committed crimes as late as 1989 before the fall of communist regimes, and it is utterly important that the victims get their restitution, said President of the Platform of European Conscience and Memory Goran Lindblad.

The construction of new memorial, dedicated to the victims of the communism, is in progress. Some of the estonian politics suggest to demolish the Soviet part of the memorial. But prime-minister of Estonia, Juri Ratas, confirmed that there are no plans for the future demolution of the memorial.

The Riigikogu (Estonian pronunciation: [ˈriːgikogu]; from riigi-, of the state, and kogu, assembly) is the unicameral parliament of Estonia. All important state-related questions pass through the Riigikogu. In addition to approving legislation, the Riigikogu appoints high officials, including the Prime Minister and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and elects (either alone or, if necessary, together with representatives of local government within a broader electoral college) the President. The Riigikogu also ratifies significant foreign treaties that impose military and proprietary obligations, bring about changes in law, etc.; approves the budget presented by the government as law and monitors the executive power.

Walking along the streets of Tallinn look to feel pleasure from trivial. Through the small streets and charming building, with more than a pretty signboard. The treasures hidden throughout the town sparkles brilliantly. So I'm going to learn to admire while traveling. For wet walking aimlessly in the city I attended I found pretty little red house, like the film protruding from the storybook. Where in 1656 he was called to the year of birth and paste from passing place. Open the red door and looked curiously into the net. The small, cozy cafe. Squeeze a white windows adorable yen came under the sun right props and tempting chocolates are placed side by side. Something like this small space will contain a lot of stories I was curious. This is the first in Estonia cafe inde, Paris is a handsome place only after 40 years looking after the cafe in Italy. Here and chocolate, coffee, juice, and summer selling homemade ice cream. Estonia's first café Rani. Savor anyone would even confess to shy from here ... loving someone Teda have awarded over the pain of a broken heart in here. Ssapssareum so sweet temptation of chocolate is still leading the people here.

SUMMARY
=======
Since 2001, Palestinian militants have launched thousands of rocket and mortar attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip as part of the continuing Arab–Israeli conflict. From 2004 to 2014, these attacks have killed 27 Israeli civilians, 5 foreign nationals, 5 IDF soldiers, and at least 11 Palestinians and injured more than 1900 people, but their main effect is their creation of widespread psychological trauma and disruption of daily life among the Israeli populace. Medical studies in Sderot, the Israeli city closest to the Gaza Strip, have documented a post-traumatic stress disorder incidence among young children of almost 50%, as well as high rates of depression and miscarriage. A public opinion poll conducted in March 2013 found that most Palestinians do not support firing rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip with only 38% favoring their use and over 80% supporting non-violent protest. Another poll conducted in September 2014 found that 80% of Palestinians support firing rockets against Israel if it does not allow unfettered access to Gaza. These rocket attacks have caused flight cancellations at Ben Gurion airport. The weapons, often generically referred to as Qassams, were initially crude and short-range, mainly affecting Sderot and other communities bordering the Gaza Strip. In 2006, more sophisticated rockets began to be deployed, reaching the larger coastal city of Ashkelon, and by early 2009 major cities Ashdod and Beersheba had been hit by Katyusha, WS-1B and Grad rockets. In 2012, Jerusalem and Israel's commercial center Tel Aviv were targeted with locally made M-75 and Iranian Fajr-5 rockets, respectively, and in July 2014, the northern city of Haifa was targeted for the first time. A few projectiles have contained white phosphorus said to be recycled from unexploded munitions used by Israel in bombing Gaza.Attacks have been carried out by all Palestinian armed groups, and, prior to the 2008–2009 Gaza War, were consistently supported by most Palestinians, although the stated goals have been mixed. The attacks, widely condemned for targeting civilians, have been described as terrorism by United Nations, European Union and Israeli officials, and are defined as war crimes by human rights groups Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. The international community considers indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian structures that do not discriminate between civilians and military targets illegal under international law.Israeli defenses constructed s ...

Moscow (; Russian: Москва́, tr. Moskvá, IPA: [mɐˈskva] (listen)) is the capital and most populous city of Russia, with 13.2 million residents within the city limits and 17 million within the urban area. Moscow is one of Russia's federal cities.
Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, and scientific centre of Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as the largest city (both by population and by area) entirely on the European continent. By broader definitions Moscow is among the world's largest cities, being the 14th largest metro area, the 18th largest agglomeration, the 14th largest urban area, and the 11th largest by population within city limits worldwide. According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the ninth most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the world's largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and is also one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world according to the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index.
Moscow is the northernmost and coldest megacity and metropolis on Earth. It is home to the Ostankino Tower, the tallest free standing structure in Europe; the Federation Tower, the second-tallest skyscraper in Europe; and the Moscow International Business Center. By its territorial expansion on July 1 2012 southwest into the Moscow Oblast, the area of the capital more than doubled, going from 1,091 to 2,511 square kilometers (421 to 970 sq mi), resulting in Moscow becoming the largest city on the European continent by area; it also gained an additional population of 233,000 people.Moscow is situated on the Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, making it Europe's most populated inland city. The city is well known for its architecture, particularly its historic buildings such as Saint Basil's Cathedral with its colourful architectural style. With over 40 percent of its territory covered by greenery, it is one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world, having the largest forest in an urban area within its borders—more than any other major city—even before its expansion in 2012.
The city has served as the capital of a progression of states, from the medieval Grand Duchy of Moscow and the subsequent Tsardom of Russia to the Russian Empire to the Soviet Union and the contemporary Russian Federation.
Moscow is the seat of power of the Government of Russia, being the site of the Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is today the residence for work of the President of Russia. The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are also one of several World Heritage Sites in the city. Both chambers of the Russian parliament (the State Duma and the Federation Council) also sit in the city.
