Canal Boats at Stoke Bruerne / Barcos de canal en Stoke Bruerne, UK.
(Descripción en español a continuación ....)
During a family visit back to the UK in August 2012, we took the opportunity to visit the Grand Union Canal at Stoke Bruerne in Northamptonshire. I have always loved canals, having owned a small canal cruiser on the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal before moving to Spain, so it was wonderful to see all the roses and castles (boat decoration) again!
More information about the UK canal network can be found on the Canal and River Trust website:

London Canal Museum 18th February 2014
Filmed at the London Canal Museum on the 18th February 2014, I tried to capture as many features as possible for disabled visitors in this short film. The trip started by checking their website for access information: canalmuseum.org.uk/visit/menu-disabled.htm, which contained much detail.
There are concessions for disabled visitors; induction loop for hearing aid users at reception; a virtual tour of a tiny cabin area of narrowboat Coronis - which is too small to be accessible by wheelchair. Braille information is provided at listening posts; there is a good egress arrangement in place from the first floor; tactile exhibits; ramped access to the canal side; an audio tour for visually-impaired visitors; subtitles where possible on film; items at a height which can be seen from a seated or standing position; seating available; tactile surfaces at the top and foot of staircases - for a small museum they have achieved a lot! If this gives you some ideas to welcome disabled people then it will have achieved something. The music track is called Haystacks.

Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum 'Village at War' 30.09.2012 Part 2/2
Part 2/2. Video of Stoke Bruerne's 5th annual 'Village at War' event, held over the weekend of the 28th, 29th and 30th September 2012. This video was shot on the 30th September 2012.
Stoke Bruerne canal village was turned back to the 1940's with re-enactors in period costume, military vehicles, motorbuses, firearms display, period music, home guard displays and of course an array of historic narrowboats.
This video continues with a look down the towpath at the many narrowboats moored up at the side. 'Laplander' is seen heading back to Stoke Bruerne top lock. Then some views from inside Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum of the section of narrowboat named 'Sunny Valley'.
Then some shots of the many military vehicles, motorbuses and model tanks on display in the adjacent field. Also included are some shots of re-enactors firing firearms (unfortunately I missed the display!)

Canales de Reino Unido / Canals of the United Kingdom [IGEO.TV]
The canals of the United Kingdom are a major part of the network of inland waterways in the United Kingdom. They have a colourful history, from use for irrigation and transport, through becoming the focus of the Industrial Revolution, to today's role for recreational boating. Despite a period of abandonment, today the canal system in the United Kingdom is again in increasing use, with abandoned and derelict canals being reopened, and the construction of some new routes.
