What is 'Nostalgic'?
Nostalgic is a term that brings happy feelings to many, because it brings back a time of rememberance of better times. The definition, as quoted by the dictionary, is a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's life. Nostalgic is not only a desire to return to a former time, but also to anything that was once important to someone, including times with former friends, an old boyfriend, or family members that have passed away.

The first Candy Shoppe was opened in the spring of 1999 in the little strip mall just north of Webers Hamburgers (and beside Tim Hortons) on hwy 11 just north of the town of Orillia, Ontario, Canada. It was a very small, narrow store space with no storage areas, so within the first 5 years, we got very tight and crowded and decided to lease an empty building almost directly across from the first store and on the southbound Hwy 11 lanes.
The parking lot at the first store could not handle the transport trucks that delivered our bulk items, so we needed a spot with a huge parking lot , a rear entrance that could be roofed over to take skids of candy deliveries, preparation areas for weighing and bagging up the candy, and temperature controlled storage areas. Having a second location not only took the “space “ pressure off of the first store, but it gave customers access to our stores going both northbound and southbound on hwy 11, so they could stop on the way to the cottage for their sweet supplies and then again homeward bound to the cities.
We began selling candy online from the very beginning and since then have shipped candy all over the world to places as far away as Samoa, Australia, Spain, and Japan, plus to the armed forces troops wherever they may be. Because of the steep increase in costs of shipping overseas we limited our shipping to Canada and continental USA. At this time, we are no longer accepting/shipping out online orders due to issues with online fraud and other considerations. Our extensive product inventory is still viewable online.
