Treehouse on The Bank of a Scottish Loch Allows Loved-Up Couples to Enjoy a Meal Beside Mountains
Casanovas looking to sweep their loved ones off their feet need look no further than this stunning treehouse on the bank of a picturesque Scottish loch. Hidden away in the Scottish Highlands, the Lodge at Loch Goil has the ultimate romantic candlelit dinner - a private dining experience in a fairy-tale hideaway. Loved-up couples can look out over the starlit clear waters of the loch with a spectacular backdrop of mountain scenery while they enjoy an intimate evening of fine dining. The chef will prepare a five-course tasting menu of locally sourced seasonal produce which will be served by your own personal waiter. There's even a woodburning stove to make sure your date stays hot, and WiFi and a sound system to help set the right mood. If you want to take the romance to the next level - the treehouse is even licensed for weddings. It is not possible to stay in the treehouse overnight, but the Lodge is a five-star boutique hotel with seven luxury bedrooms and a separate Victorian summerhouse that the owners say is the 'most romantic honeymoon suite in the world'. Staff will go above and beyond, even providing a specialised gift service - buying and wrapping the gift as well as arranging flowers and homemade chocolates. They can also arrange trips in a 1930s wooden rowing boat with a picnic lunch on a private beach just a short distance from the Lodge. Loch Goil is a small sea loch in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, about an hour from Glasgow. The Lodge was built as a private country house in 1864 by William Leiper and the summerhouse was added in 1890 as an artist's retreat. The hotel has one of the UK's largest collections of arts and crafts furniture and antiques, and a cosy whisky bar with plenty of period charm ideal for a nightcap. Iain Hopkins, manager at the hotel, said: 'We've got some of the best views in Scotland and at night the constellations are breathtaking and shooting stars are a common sight. 'During the day on the loch you will see seals, porpoises, otters, a large variety of birds ranging from elder ducks to swan, oyster catchers and herons. 'Red squirrels are a common sight and deer often come down from the hills in search of food. 'The adjectives guests have used to describe the treehouse range from magical to stunning and spectacular to treetastic. 'The Lodge is the most romantic getaway in the UK by a million miles. 'You can take the Caledonian Sleeper from London Euston, be collected in a 1960s Land Rover, stay in a Victorian summerhouse and then dine in a treehouse watching shooting stars and eating the best food in Scotland.' Indulgence Breaks, which allow you to book the treehouse for dinner for two, start from £250 a night.
