Lincoln, England
The historic city of Lincoln is home to the Magna Carter. The charter written in Latin in 1215 is kept behind glass inside a vault within Lincoln Castle.
The Romans had settled in Lincoln and a well preserved Roman arch named Newport Arch stands proudly to this day.

From Roman times, through the Renaissance, Gothic and Medieval periods, Lincoln City's charm have only grown stronger over the centuries.
Tucked away in England's East Midlands, there are no major throughways or highways that will lead you to this historic wonder, but it's worth the trek to get there, whether it be by car or train.
The city's claim to fame may be securing one of four remaining copies of the original Magna Carta in the vaults of the castle - right next to a copy of the Charter of the Forest, another historical document.
The Cathedral is the third largest in the UK and will impress as you walk around the outside and stare up at the gothic architecture, while inside represents Roman times and beyond.
The castle still stands strong after years of repelling battle as foreign and domestic armies attacked.
Take a tour through these historic sites and up the famous Steep Hill.
Finish off with some great food.

Professor Carenza Lewis introduces the Our Lincolnshire heritage project.
Our Lincolnshire is a new research project at the University of Lincoln, funded by Arts Council England, which is designed to examine public attitudes towards heritage across the county. A questionnaire has now been launched to capture the views of people living and working in Lincolnshire, and to find out what is seen as important when preserving and enhancing heritage sites and traditions.

These are the photographs of the exhumed bodies of people whose names are written in the history books. Centuries after their deaths, scientists open their graves in the hope that their bones might yield a few more secrets that they were not able to tell at the time of their demise. Also, I'm so glad everybody loved the sexy background music.

8 - Guantanamo Bay…
This prison has housed some very well-known criminals, mostly terrorists, therefore security had to be the best of the best. The prison started operating in 2002 per instruction by George W. Bush's administration and stories of atrocities on humans have abounded from this facility. There was talk of shutting it down during Obama’s time, but he was met with a lot of resistance and there are still several very dangerous people being kept there. High wired electrical fences surround the area, patrolling is 24/7, motion detectors, security camera, and a naval force nearby. There are currently 55 prisoners being kept there.
7 - The Mormon Church's Secret Vaults…
We’re off to Utah to see if we can uncover some of the secrets of the vaults tucked away in Cottonwood Canyon. It’s located 600-feet into the Canyon and said to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Inside the vaults are 2.4 million rolls of microfilm and 1 million microfiche containing genealogical and historical records for the Church, however, since 1999, they have been digitizing the information. The vault is heavily guarded, has temperature control as well as motion and heat sensors.
6 - The 1960’s Bar…
It would be rather impressive if you were able to have a drink at the 1960’s bar, as getting there would take all your initiative. This drinking hole was popular with British Government officials and is located 100-feet underground at the Burlington bunker in Wiltshire. It was initially built as an escape route for British officials, but someone figured out that a pub would be a far greater idea. Decommissioned in the 80’s, this pub was deemed the most protected pub in the world due to it’s underground location.
5 - Area 51…
Access to this Nevada location is strictly prohibited, and to date, there are many rumors circulating as to why we’re not allowed there. It’s a top-secret air force base where even flying overhead is forbidden. The area is covered with motion sensors and heavily guarded. It’s here where secrets of UFO’s and aliens are kept well-hidden.
4 - Cheyenne Mountain…
Here’s another bunker, but this one was built into Cheyenne Mountain which served as the central command center for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD. They have since moved, but despite that, the area is still one of the most secure places in the world. It has granite walls reinforced with steel, protecting the tunnel that takes you into the mountain. There are EMP resistant buildings, and of course the mountain serves as additional protection. There are also fences, guards, gates and every security measure you can think of.
3 - Iron Mountain…
Mountains definitely provide maximum security and Iron Mountain is no different. Inside this retired limestone mine, you’ll find 1.7 million square feet filled with vaults roughly 200-feet underground. Most of the vaults belong to the US government, and the majority of them are private. We do know some vault owners though, and they include the Warner brothers and the Smithsonian Institution. Some of the important relics inside are historic master recordings, original film reels, the original image of Einstein with his tongue sticking out and some charred remains of Flight 93. Rumor has it that guests are left embarrassed after they go through security, and should they try their luck, they have to get through two waves of armed security.
2 - The Doomsday Seed Vault…
Svalsgaard in Norway is home to the Doomsday Seed Vault, a vault that is filled with crops and seeds that could potentially save the planet should things go terribly wrong in the future. Reinforced concrete and steel are standard, and the building is designed to withstand an earthquake with a 6.2 magnitude. It’s designed to be around longer than the Great Pyramid of Giza using internal cooling units to maintain a constant temperature. Norway is about to spend $12.7 million on maintenance on the vault.

Lincoln Barons' Charter Auction
The auction of 25 baron sculptures that made up the Lincoln Barons' Charter Trail from June 13th to September 13th 2015. The money raised at this auction will go toward The Trussell Trust and their foodbanks.
The auction took place on Lincolnshire Day, October 1st, 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Lincoln's Brayford Waterfront.
The Lincoln Barons' Charter Trail allowed you to walk in the footsteps of King John and his barons, following the trail through Lincoln's historic streets. In 1215 Magna Carta, ‘The Great Charter’ was sealed at Runnymede and the 25 barons in the trail represent the 25 barons present at its sealing.
Lincoln’s Magna Carta can be seen on display at Lincoln Castle in a new Vault. The Lincoln Barons’ Charter Trail celebrated 800 years of Magna Carta.
