Dadiani palace. Georgia/Дворец Дадиани.Грузия
Dadiani palace. Georgia/Дворец Дадиани.Грузия
In Migrelia the palace of princes of Dadiani is located. Today it is the fine museum which should be visited at least because of a posthumous mask of Napoleon, in their world of everything three. The beautiful territory of park round the palace can serve as scenery to the movie about the Middle Ages. Dadiani's palace should be visited and not hastily to walk on small streets of a garden.

Shaki-Azerbaijan 2017
One of the most ancient cities of Azerbaijan, Sheki is rightly called the architectural reserve of the country. Of particular interest to the tourists from all over the world is the Palace of Sheki Khans (1762) – a rare example of combining the national and palace architecture traditions. It is remarkable that during the construction of the palace, not a single nail was used, and the colored glass for shebeke (national mosaic) was brought from Venice.
There are many interesting historical monuments in Sheki. To the north of the city there are the ruins of the once impregnable fortress Gelersan – gerarsan (“come and see“) dated by the XV-XVIII centuries. There were many caravanserais in Sheki, which was famous for its trade. Two of them are still here today; the Upper and the Lower Caravanserais, both built in the XVIII century. Not to mention the Albanian temple in the village of Kish (I-II centuries), where the famous Norwegian Thor Heyerdahl has repeatedly researched, as evidenced here by the mounted bust of the traveler.
Finally, Sheki is also famous for its mouth melting baklava, soup piti (stew with vegetables in a clay pot), and the sense of humor of its people. Due to their sense of humor, the city is twinned with the city Gabrovo in Bulgaria.
Sheki district is one of the most interesting, original and beautiful regions of Azerbaijan. The administrative center - the city of Sheki – is one of the most ancient cities of Azerbaijan and is located on the picturesque hillsides of the Caucasus Mountains in the background of snowy peaks.
Sheki is rightly called the architectural reserve of the country. Of particular interest to visitors is the palace of the Sheki Khans (1762) – a rare example of a combination of national architecture and traditions of palace architecture. You can hardly find the second palace like this by the design and interior decoration. It is known that during the construction of the palace a single nail was not used. Mosaic in there is made in traditional style Shebeke (colored glass decoration).

Kakheti – The Place To Go in Georgia
Georgians are famous for their viticulture, feasts (supra), hospitality, picturesque environment, and many other things. Thankfully, historical province of Kakheti is the best place to go in Georgia to discover all of these things. Kakheti is a true wine region and lies due east from Tbilisi – between the Greater Caucasus to the north and Azerbaijan to the south. Kakheti offers several marvelous places to stay as well as many great places of interest, and it is the place for meat and wine lovers or anyone who loves fine food.As it was mentioned, Kakheti – The place to go in Georgia, is in the top list of places which are easy to reach from the capital (45 miles distance). As there are no buses going to Kakheti if you do not hire the private one, the best option is getting a taxi at Isani Station from 2USD max. 5USD per person to any destination. Take into account that the drivers gather minimum 4 people to leave the station. If you ask the driver they drop you at the place you want. Another option is to hire a taxi from private taxi companies, which is way more expensive but you won’t need to wait for other passengers. Another option is Marshutka, which is cheaper than taxi but less comfortable. Prices are nearly same as the cabs. Marshutkas leave from Isani, Ortatchala and Navtlughi Railway Stations. They only stop at few bus stations, so you might want to plan the full route in advance. Hitchhiking is also an option but less favorite as in any parts of Georgia as well as there are not many people who hire a car for travelling to Kakheti as taxi option is once again, way cheaper.

Uplistsikhe (Géorgie/Georgia)
Uplistsikhe (literally, the lord's fortress) is an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia, some 10 kilometers east of the town of Gori, Shida Kartli.
Built on a high rocky left bank of the Mtkvari River, it contains various structures dating from the 26th century BC to the Late Middle Ages, and is notable for the unique combination of various styles of rock-cut cultures from Anatolia and Iran, as well as the co-existence of pagan and Christian architecture.[1]
Uplistsikhe is identified by archaeologists as one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia. Strategically located in the heartland of ancient kingdom of Kartli (or Iberia as it was known to the Classical authors), it emerged as a major political and religious center of the country. The town's age and importance led medieval Georgian written tradition to ascribe its foundation to the mythical Uplos, son of Mtskhetos, and grandson of Kartlos.[2]
With the Christianization of Kartli early in the 4th century, Uplistsikhe seems to have declined in its importance and lost its position to the new centers of Christian culture -- Mtskheta and, later Tbilisi. However, Uplistsikhe reemerged as a principal Georgian stronghold during the Muslim conquest of Tbilisi in the 8th and 9th century. The Mongol raids in the 14th century marked the ultimate eclipse of the town; it was virtually abandoned, and only occasionally used as a temporary shelter in times of foreign intrusions.[2]
The Uplistsikhe complex can tentatively be divided into three parts: south (lower), middle (central) and north (upper) covering an area of approximately 8 hectares. The middle part is the largest, contains a bulk of the Uplistsikhe rock-cut structures, and is connected to the southern part via a narrow rock-cut pass and a tunnel. Narrow alleys and sometimes staircases radiate from the central street to the different structures.[3]
The majority of the caves are devoid of any decorations, although some of the larger structures have coffered tunnel-vaulted ceilings, with the stone carved in imitation of logs. Some of the larger structures also have niches in the back or sides, which may have been used for ceremonial purposes. At the summit of the complex is a Christian basilica built of stone and brick in the 9th-10th centuries Archaeological excavations have discovered numerous artifacts of different periods, including gold, silver and bronze jewellery, and samples of ceramics and sculptures. Many of these artifacts are in the safekeeping of the National Museum in Tbilisi.
Several parts of the most vulnerable areas were completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1920. The stability of the monument still remains under a under substantial threat, prompting the Fund of Cultural Heritage of Georgia (a joint project of the World Bank and Government of Georgia) to launch a limited program of conservation in 2000.

Trip to Georgia - virtual fly tour over Khertvisi fortress complex discovery from the Air
Khertvisi fortress (Georgian: ხერთვისის ციხე) is one of the oldest fortresses in Georgia and was functional throughout the Georgian feudal period. It is situated in Southern Georgia, in Meskheti region. The fortress was first build in the 2nd century BC. The church was built in 985, and the present walls build in 1354. As the legend says, Khertvisi was destroyed by Alexander the Great.
In the 10th-11th centuries it was the center of Meskheti region. During the 12th century it became a town. In the 13th century Mongols destroyed it and until the 15th century it lost its power. In the 15th century it was owned by Meskheti landlords from Jakeli family. In the 16th century the southern region of Georgia was invaded by Turks. During next 300 years they have owned Khertvisi too.
Name Khertvisi comes from the verb designating the confluence of two rivers. In ancient times, during the march to the east, Alexander the Great saw the city-fortress Khertvisi.
Khertvisi fortress is a well-preserved complex construction. The buildings that is prreserved to this day belong to the X-XIX centuries. The fortress consists of two main parts - the citadel and the wall. The Citadel occupies a narrow ledge that is protected by a high vertical cliff. The towers of the fortress are well protected and standing out is the main tower - a building constructed of well-crafted and stacked stones. Also should be noted is the five-sided turret which protects the east side. The fortress is supplied with drinking water through a tunnel, attached from the northwest.
Khertvisi was repeatedly rebuilt. In 1356-1356, Zakaria Kamkamishvili, Treasurer of the King, built the tower and wall. In the XVI century the fortress belonged to the feudal family Hertvisari. In 1578 the Turks captured Khertvisi with other fortresses of Samtskhe - Saatabago. In 1828-1829, after the victory of Russia over Turkey, the fortress was returned to Georgia. At that time, Khertvisi, along with other Georgian fortresses, lost its strategic importance.
Since 2007, the Khertvisi fortress is included in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage.
