Bayside Comprehensive School raised awareness for the International Day for the elimination of violence against women on Friday morning. 1,100 students took part by linking hands to form a chain across the whole of the school.

Govt promises New Schools by September 2019
A major project to transform education around Gibraltar was launched today at Number Six Convent Place, which will see the relocation of eight new schools and the refurbishment of four existing ones. Among the announcements were two purpose-built, co-education comprehensive schools in Waterport, and new St Annes and Notre Dame buildings in the North District.

Convent and Museum Open Days - 22.05.17
The Gibraltar Museum broke all records at this year’s Open Day, with nearly two thousand visitors on Saturday. The event also saw the unveiling of a new set of galleries.
The Convent Open Day saw lots of young families enjoy some time in the beautiful gardens & help raise money for several local charities. The Governor Lieutenant General Ed Davies and his wife Lorraine told GBC they thought holding the event a month earlier than last year had worked, as the heat was less intense.

Picardo celebrates third consecutive election win
The GSLP Liberals will govern Gibraltar for another four years after winning the General Election with 52.5% of the vote to the GSD's 25.6% and Together Gibraltar's 20.5%. Independent candidate Robert Vasquez secured 0.9% and J.C Pons 0.5% of the vote.
All ten alliance candidates polled highest, with Fabian Picardo in the lead. Together Gibraltar's leader Marlene Hassan Nahon topped the opposition benches, followed by six of the GSD candidates.
