The history, art and culture of Copts in Egypt. With English subtitles
In this 2016 documentary, the history of the Coptic faith in Egypt is being told. We´re not only shown the artefacts of the Coptic Museum in Cairo, but the entire history of the rise of Christian belief in a country where for thousands of years, ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses had been revered. It´s astonishing to see how this ancient belief, together with Greco-Roman culture, has influenced early Christianity. Today it´s often forgotten that before the arrival of Islam in the 7th century, many Middle Eastern countries were part of the (East)Roman empire and had a predominantly Christian population.
I put these beautiful images of Coptic chapels, churches, monasteries, statues and paintings on the internet in the year 2016, hoping that in 10 years from now, they´ll still be standing safely and untouched in Egypt. It is a breathtakingly beautiful country, and the only country in the world where visitors can marvel at ancient Egyptian monuments, archaic Christian churches and elegant mosques at the same time. Let´s hope that just like the stone monuments of different religions, the people in Egypt will also be able to live together peacefully for the coming centuries!
By the way: there are almost no Jewish monuments left over in Egypt anymore. In Cairo and Alexandria, two synagogues are still standing. The one in Alexandria has not been used for 30 years. It is guarded by police and can only be visited by Jews and Non-Egyptians(!). Today, the Jewish community in Alexandria consists of 8 women and 2 men, the youngest one is 60 years old. In Cairo, the community consists of 12 persons. All over Egypt, an estimated number of 100 Jews are living, down from around 80,000 in 1948. – Let´s hope that the future of today´s around 5 to 8 million Copts in Egypt (around 10%) looks brighter than the one of Egypt´s Jewish population.
Note: the voice-over by “Saint Anianus“ is not based on original texts. (It wouldn´t be logic that he talks about his own funeral...)

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo; Ancient Egyptian Antiquities
The Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt. Egypt travel attractions and destinations to reveal with us.
Traveling to Egypt is all about visiting the museums, the Pyramids, the old places, as well as getting the chance to walk through the streets, eat the Egyptian food, enjoy a day by the Nile, and at the same time give yourself the chance to get introduced to the nightlife of this city.
From the most famous Egyptian touristic attractions, the Egyptian Museum is on top of the list, through which you will see the historical Pharaonic pieces. The Egyptian Museum is in Tahrir square, which is considered the middle of the city, Cairo, and thus you will not just enjoy watching the old gems, but will also get the chance to see the old Egypt.
The Egyptian museum is famously called the Museum of Egypt المتحف المصري and it carries a good amount of Egyptian ancient antiquities, about 120,000 items; some of them are already on display while others are kept in store rooms.
This is a must see and visit place during the trip to Egypt because there are different stories to hear inside about the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Egyptian civilization. You might even love the stories that you just wish you could visit the place once again and go through the same things millions of times.
The most important thing about the Egyptian museum in Cairo is to never miss the hall of the mummies in order to see the superior quality of the life that the ancient Egyptians used to live and have an evidence for that.
The moment you enter the Egyptian museum, you will feel that you have been taken and transformed to the old age due to the sculptures that are found inside and the different things you will get the chance to see.
A lot of Egyptian artwork and Egyptian artifacts to come across in this place. We recommend that you either get a trustworthy tour guide who could help you with knowing more about the place and getting the chance to reveal all the stories, or else bring yourself a book or an article from the internet that will help you to know as much as possible, but never wander the place just watching; read everything that is written there.
There are audio guides which you could buy from the kiosk in front of the foyer for 20 EGP and which will be very useful as your guide inside.
There's great history behind this place, not just the Egyptian artifacts, but the mummies, the masks, and actually everything about this place shows how the Egyptians were so good when it came to living like real kings and queens.
We recommend that you take your water with you because it is a little bit hot inside and you might find nowhere to bring yourself water inside during the journey. We also recommend that you take something that will tell you more about the artifacts there because some don't have label and you might find yourself standing in front of something you know nothing about.
Egypt history is like no other place in the world, this country of peace carries a lot to tell the world and the Egyptian museum is where the story starts. The grand Egyptian museum will tell you about the 7 thousand years of history that this country carried and that is the reason why it is considered one of the most important museums to visit in the world.
The Egyptian museum working hours are everyday from 9 AM until 7 PM. The Egyptian museum entrance fee differ according to what you are going to see inside; general admission is for 30 EGP for non-Egyptians, the royal mummies room is for 100 EGP, the centennial gallery for 10 EGP, and all these are reduced by half if you are a student.
Cameras are not allowed inside the place and you will be checked for that by the gates, so you will never get the chance to take photos inside and keep the memory of seeing those artifacts with you. You could only take photos from the outside to prove that you have been there and visited this important museum of Egypt.
This place is so famous, you will be able to reach it by taxi, by the metro, or even by the other transportation tools - but we don't recommend any other way than these two.
The Nile is only five minutes walk away from the Egyptian Museum so you could go for a walk there after you get done with your trip in the museum. There are different things to do in Egypt in general and a lot of things to see, so always plan to see as much as your stay allows you to.
When you visit Egypt, you should plan to visit Muhammad Ali Mosque
You should also visit The National Museum of Egypt
You should give yourself the chance to go to a tour through the Pharaonic Village
And even go to Al Moez street

*** The Citadel
One of Cairo's most popular tourist attractions is The Citadel, located on a spur of limestone that had been detached from its parent Moqattam Hills by quarrying. The Citadel began it's life not as a great military base of operations, but as the Dome of the Wind, a pavilion created in 810 by Hatim Ibn Hartama, who was then governor. These early governors, not realizing it strategic importance, simply used the pavilion for its view of Cairo. In 1176, Salah ad-Din fortified the area to protect it against attacks by the Crusaders, and since then, it has never been without a military garrison.
In 1218 Sultan al-Kamil, Salah ad-Din's nephew moved his residence to The Citadel, and until the consturction of the Abdin Palace in the mid-19th century, it was the seat of government for the Country of Egypt.
Most of the fortification's enterior were built after Salah ad-Din's rule, being added to by almost every invader including the British, some of whom destroyed much of what existed before them. Al Nasir Muhammad leveled most of Salah al-Din's buildings and later Muhamad Ali did the same to the Mamluk structures.
The Citadel actually consists of three main sections, surrounded by their own walls with towers and gates. These consist of the Lower Enclosure (El-Azab), the Northern Enclosure (El-Ankishariya) and the Southern Enclosure which is The Citadel proper (El-Qal'a). The two main gates are on the north (Bab el-Gadid) and south (Bab el-Gabal). Particularly when viewed from the back side (from the north), The Citadel reveals a very medieval character .

National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo - Egypt
National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Cairo, Egypt - Travel to Egypt and discover what you could see there with us!
There are different things to do in Egypt and different Cairo attractions to head to and one of them is the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo which is considered the latest addition to the Egyptian treasure and which have succeeded in attracting the eyes of the tourists so far.
We have to mention that it is the latest addition to the Egyptian treasure because it opened in February 2017 with a lot of things to be seen inside. A collection of 50,000 Egyptian artifacts will be displayed there but will divided according to the section it is related to, which will present the Egyptian civilization from the prehistoric times until these days.
The new Egyptian museum has taken some collections from other museums in the country, such as the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Coptic Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Manial Palace and Museum in Cairo, as well as the Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is found in the ancient city of Fustat, which is now part of Cairo. Although the place is still partially opened and there are still a lot of things under construction, it seems to be one successful place to go and visit while being in Egypt and definitely a place for school children to learn something through out their years of school by taking them to trips there.
One of the good rooms or exhibition galleries that is now open is the one showing different types of crafts, such as pottery, textiles, carpentry, and jewelry; It is really exciting and interesting to go through this room.
The place from the outside is also magnificent since the buildings are breathtaking and at the same time it has a good view on the small lake found there.
The Egyptian museum of civilization working hours are from 10 Am till 10 PM, giving people the chance to visit it anytime during the day. The entrance fee ticket for this museum is 10 Egyptian pounds for Egyptians and a little bit more for the foreigners, which is considered fair enough.
There are different activities offered in this museum of civilization which are related to the educational level, the cultural, as well as some other training activities. The place is not just about the museum, but there are other facilities to be found as well, such as stores, laboratories, library, conference room, cinema, theater, and an educational center.
Showing the world and telling every visitor about the Egyptian civilization history was one of the main goals of this museum and it's main mission.
This great Egyptian museum is divided into different parts from the inside. At the moment, there is the temporary exhibitions gallery, but there will also be the Cairo Capital Museum, the Core Exhibition Museum, the Thematic Galleries, the Royal Mummies Gallery, and the Archaeological Treasure.
We totally recommend this museum for those who are searching for different things to do in Egypt and different new places to go to. Since the place is still partially opened, we prefer that you put it back in the list, maybe they will open other parts as well.
This is definitely a place to go to in order to know more about ancient Egypt and the Egyptian civilization and collect as much memories from your trip to Egypt as possible. The one thing we would advice you with is to never spend a lot of time at this place because it is still not fully opened and you will not get the chance to see a lot of things there; just have a look and go on with your trip, because it is also not that close to the other beautiful destinations and attractions which you will need to see in the city before leaving.
Egypt history is wide and huge and there are different things in Cairo that could reveal this history along with the Egyptian civilization and culture. These things come in the form of places like museums, citadels, mosques, etc. that could take you through a tour and get you introduced to the ancient Egyptian kings and queens.
Egypt tourist attractions are numerous and every single one of them will give you some good information about Egypt that will let you go back home satisfied with your trip to Egypt and the things you have managed to know about it.
After getting done with your tour through the National Museum of Egypt, you could also visit The Islamic Art Museum ( Go to Mohamed Ali's Palace ( and also visit The Pyramids of Giza (
Egypt is not just about Cairo, but you could plan to visit other cities as well, such as Alexandria ( or Fayoum (
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo
I wasn't allowed to take video footage of the museum, so that is the reason the video is simply still pics with my narration on the back of it. Anyways, I went to the Egyptian Museum. The Egyptian Museum was inspiring, and really made you think because Alien Theorists are always giving the explanation of advanced races of being accomplishing amazing feats on Earth. Well, there are actually statues in this museum that sort of make you wonder how they got there. I mean, were they already there, and humans just built the museum around them? Anyways, I got to see things in this museum that is over 25,000 years old, and it was truly grand. It only cost about 15 bucks to get in, but you have to go all the way to Cairo to see it. It's just a pain to discover that you couldn't film inside the museum. I guess that's my only complaint.
