Maryborough, Qld. A Walk in the Park
Say hello to Maryborough - a town steeped in history which tells the tales of its captivating colonial past mixed with an artistic vibe everywhere you go. You can explore its stories from the past through striking art, statues, heritage buildings, memorials and museums surrounding what was once one of Australia's largest ports.
Don't forget to jump into the magical world of Mary Poppins in the birthplace of author P.L Travers. A short stroll through heritage-listed Queens Park will lead you to Cherry Tree Lane and the statue of Mary Poppins perched next to the 136-year-old building where P.L Travers was born in 1889.
While you're in Queens Park, take a look at the statue of Duncan Chapman, the first Anzac ashore at Gallopoli, who symbolises the rich military history of Maryborough. Keen to learn a little bit more about Maryborough's military past? In the portside precinct is Australia's finest military museum outside of Canberra and across the street a tippler tells tales of tasting liquor at the old Bond Store.

Vlog - Ghost Hunting at the Royal Bulls Head Inn
Ever gone to a hunted place before? I hadn't, at least not until about a week ago when I joined a group of people (and my friend Tracey) to check out the Royal Bulls Head Inn, here in Toowoomba. It's apparently one of the cities most haunted places and I got to spend a very cold and windy evening there! We didn't spot anything terribly spooky but it was a bit of fun and maybe I can go back there one day with a smaller crowd and more might happen. :)

For three years I stood next to Joe, every Sunday with his Jazz Cats' and also sometimes Wednesday nights downstairs, where Joe played drums in his own trio; Killer Joe'. The Criterion Hotel hosted the greatest music and stories. Every gig with Joe was an escapade into the unknown. (I heard a story once how Joe turned up to a wedding and the rest of the band didn‟t arrive. He set up his kit and did the whole gig alone, just drums and voice. In addition, got paid!) Mike Bukowsky, Dave Levy, John Pochee, Alan Turnbull, Bobby Gebert, Steve Elphick, Keith Stirling, Bob Bertles, Dave Addes, Mark Simmonds, Ken James, Paul McNamara, Dennis Sutherland, Trevor Griffin, Craig Scott, Andrew Gander, James Greening, Dave Clayton, Tom Baker, Warwick, James and John Morrison, Dave Colton, John Connelly and many others played in Joe's numerous bands. The Criterion' was in the centre of Sydney on the corner of Park and Castlereagh streets. Within its smoke yellowed walls the greatest players in town would gather. The old tired tiled pub packed with people expecting the unexpected, laughing and talking aloud. Always loud; yet the room at times had an air of excitement about it, especially when Joe took the stand. Smokey dark and smelly, magic real magic - Joe's magic. Jazz magic. The term „Jazz‟ seems
somehow mostly limited to me now, but Joe was a living example of the best the genre has to offer. He was alive with ideas but above all, courageous. Oh, and he could swing and create fresh solos, time and time again. He could also be a circus. The lyrics are important, but not that important. The melody is the most important thing about any kind of song. The way the song moves. Whether it has a beautiful harmonic content. Also, whether the music swings... It‟s inherent. I was born swinging! I had it when I was a kid, twelve or thirteen; I used to scat back then, in 1940. paul pax andrews.

SUMMARY
=======
The Suez Crisis, or the Second Arab–Israeli War, also named the Tripartite Aggression in the Arab world and Operation Kadesh or Sinai War in Israel, was an invasion of Egypt in late 1956 by Israel, followed by the United Kingdom and France. The aims were to regain Western control of the Suez Canal and to remove Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, who had just nationalized the canal. After the fighting had started, political pressure from the United States, the Soviet Union and the United Nations led to a withdrawal by the three invaders. The episode humiliated the United Kingdom and France and strengthened Nasser.On 29 October, Israel invaded the Egyptian Sinai. Britain and France issued a joint ultimatum to cease fire, which was ignored. On 5 November, Britain and France landed paratroopers along the Suez Canal. The Egyptian forces were defeated, but they did block the canal to all shipping. It later became clear that the Israeli invasion and the subsequent Anglo-French attack had been planned beforehand by the three countries.
The three allies had attained a number of their military objectives, but the canal was useless. Heavy political pressure from the United States and the USSR led to a withdrawal. U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower had strongly ...

SUMMARY
=======
Coventry ( (listen) KOV-ən-tree or KUV-) is a city, administrative centre and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands, England.
Historically part of Warwickshire, at the 2011 census Coventry had a population of 316,915, making it the 9th largest city in England and the 12th largest in the United Kingdom. It is the second largest city in the West Midlands region, after Birmingham, and although proximite to the West Midlands conurbation, it is just outside it.
Coventry is 19 miles (31 km) east-southeast of Birmingham, 24 miles (39 km) southwest of Leicester, 11 miles (18 km) north of Warwick and 94 miles (151 km) northwest of London. Coventry is also the most central city in England, being only 11 miles (18 km) south-southwest of the country's geographical centre in Leicestershire and is located in the West Midlands.
The current Coventry Cathedral was built after the majority of the 14th century cathedral church of Saint Michael was destroyed by the Luftwaffe in the Coventry Blitz of 14 November 1940. Coventry motor companies have contributed significantly to the British motor industry. The city has three universities, Coventry University in the city centre, the University of Warwick on the southern outskirts and the smaller private Arden University, headquartered close to Coventry Airport.
On 7 December 2017, the city won the title of UK City of Culture 2021, after beating Paisley, Stoke-on-Trent, Swansea and Sunderland to the title. They will be the third title holder, of the quadrennial award which began in 2013.
