Champs de Mars Horse Racing Mauritius
We spent a day at the Champs de Mars race course in Mauritius staying in the Crown Lodge. We had free drinks all day and food all day. It was a great day! Recommend!
A day at the races in Mauritius.
In Mauritius, there is but a single event which can gather twenty thousand islanders in a particular spot once a week: Horse racing Every Saturday, round about noon, a surging mass of people flocks towards The Champ de Mars, one of the oldest race course in the World.
This sight is unique on the island and Crown Lodge invites you to watch the show in ideal conditions, whilst benefiting from the legendary Mauritian hospitality at it's best.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

SUMMARY
=======
The French East India Company (French: Compagnie française pour le commerce des Indes orientales) was a commercial Imperial enterprise, founded in 1664 to compete with the English (later British) and Dutch East India companies in the East Indies.
Planned by Jean-Baptiste Colbert, it was chartered by King Louis XIV for the purpose of trading in the Eastern Hemisphere. It resulted from the fusion of three earlier companies, the 1660 Compagnie de Chine, the Compagnie d'Orient and Compagnie de Madagascar. The first Director General for the Company was François de la Faye, who was adjoined by two Directors belonging to the two most successful trading organizations at that time: François Caron, who had spent 30 years working for the Dutch East India Company, including more than 20 years in Japan, and Marcara Avanchintz, an Armenian trader from Isfahan, Persia.
Bus trip around the Leicestershire countryside
This is a video I took on my iPad of my school bus, S379 from Wymondham to Catmose College, on the way home on a sunny Monday evening. The bus departed at 15:40 and arrived in Wymondham at approximately 16:30. Join us as we weave our way around the narrow streets of Leicestershire...

SUMMARY
=======
French India, formally the Établissements Français dans l'Inde (French establishments in India), was a French colony comprising geographically separate enclaves on the Indian subcontinent. The possessions were originally acquired by the French East India Company beginning in the second half of the 17th century, and were de facto incorporated into the Dominion of India in 1950 and 1954. The French establishments included Pondichéry, Karikal and Yanaon on the Coromandel Coast, Mahé on the Malabar Coast and Chandernagor in Bengal. French India also included several loges (lodges, subsidiary trading stations) in other towns, but after 1816, the loges had little commercial importance and the towns to which they were attached came under British administration.
By 1950, the total area measured 510 km2 (200 sq mi), of which 293 km2 (113 sq mi) belonged to the territory of Pondichéry. In 1936, the population of the colony totalled 298,851 inhabitants, of which 63% (187,870) lived in the territory of Pondichéry.
