Breaking News One - Police chase ends with car smashing into house in Bolton
A boy racer and three friends cheated death when his car smashed into a house following an 90mph police chase.Liam Southeron, 20, tore through the streets of Bolton before his Peugeot crashed into the wall of a property causing £30,000 of damage.Miraculously, the driver and his passengers all escaped the collision without a scratch.Dramatic footage shows the moment Southeron careered into the house, sending bricks and debris flying.Part of the wall and gate from the next door neighbour's property shot through a window and ended up in the middle of the living room. But thankfully the homeowners were unharmed as they were in bed at the time.Southeron, from Farnworth in Bolton, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and having no licence or insurance when he appeared at Bolton Crown Court on Monday. He was handed a two-year suspended sentence and ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work and participate in 50 days of rehabilitation activities.Southeron was also been banned from the road for four years.Prosecuting, Craig Macgregor said: 'Police officers seeing the crash immediately thought they were all dead.'Perhaps unbelievably, they were all fine.'Mr Macgregor said police spotted Southeron's Peugeot at 1.30am on July 20 but he refused to stop, driving at speeds of up to 90mph through the town. The court was played a two-minute clip of the pursuit and the crash into a wall, in which the Peugeot flipped onto three parked cars.It caused massive damage to houses and the vehicles, a Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Toyota Yaris, including £8,500 to the property the Peugeot crashed into. The repairs caused by the flying wall and gate was estimated at £13,000, while a third home also suffered £2,500 worth of damage. The Honorary Recorder of Bolton Judge Timothy Clayson was told that, in total, Southeron had caused damage estimated at £30,000.Martyn Walsh, defending, stressed that Southeron, who is a full-time carer for his mother, has no previous convictions and had not been drinking or taking drugs before the pursuit. He said that at the time he was spotted by police he had been giving a lift to a friend.'It was an extremely poor decision that he took at the time when the police car came close to him,' said Mr Walsh.'He is ashamed and well aware that things could have been far worse.'Southeron wept in the dock as Judge Clayson told him: 'You could have killed yourself and another three other people at least.'I find it astonishing that no one was seriously injured.'You very nearly did not have a future at all. You came within a hair's breadth of wrecking people's lives.'

What are you thinking Duh! I like chicken? BJ10CRF
Surely it's best not to overtake on a blind corner and then have to bail out of your overtake because there's oncoming traffic? Would it also not be better to not then give me the finger after that? Funnily enough I was looking to hold left and let them past if the road had been clear, but it wasn't and as a driver I could easily that no safe overtake was possible until we were past the row of parked cars.
