Gorran Haven is a fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall, England, UK. It is about 2 miles south of Mevagissey. The village lies in a cove between two sandy beaches. Vault Beach (also known as Bow beach) is south of Gorran Haven and Great Perhaver Beach is to the north. Gorran Haven lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.
Gorran Haven was an ancient fishing harbour; its first pier was built in the 15th century. In the 18th and 19th centuries it became a port handling merchandise brought from Fowey by barges and lighters. The pier was rebuilt in the 1820s and reconstructed in 1888.
There is two churches in the village, Haven Church (previously Mount Zion,) and St Just Church. St Just Church had been used as a fish cellar for over a century. In 1812 the Congregationalists of Mevagissey moved into the Haven using St Just as their Meeting House and referring to it as the old Chapel Cellar. Haven Church is a non-denominational church.
The geologist Charles William Peach worked in the area and there is a plaque to his memory in the village. His son Ben Peach was born in Gorran Haven. The former head of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove was born and initially raised in Gorran Haven. The writer Colin Wilson settled in Gorran Haven during the 1950s.

Gorran Haven to Mevagissey | Woody's Walks
Millie has been staying with us for a few weeks over summer but had been getting bored of her usual walks. So, Woody, Millie, my mum and I took to the South West Coast Path in search of adventure!
We walked to Mevagissey from Gorran Haven and back again, stopping in the delightful Teacup Tearoom for lunch on the way. If you'd like to find out more about this walk, be sure to read our blogpost!

Caerhays Beach in Porthluney Bay Cornwall to Rondo
Some call this beach Caerhays and some call it Porthluney. The beach is across the road from Caerhays Castle, the bay is called Porthluney. The first part of the film is a panoramic view from the left. Filmed in the morning as the tide was turning. The last part of the film is from the right hand side and was filmed later in the day when the tide was out.
The music is Rondo played by Will Riley.
