An Interway Train - Leaving signal lights, passing allotments, in outer Cambridge, UK.
My first short clip from the literally legendary, and unfortunately divisive Interway Train network.
Here we are pulling away from signal lights and passing allotments, soon to arrive in one of the many stops of outer Cambridge, UK.
The Interway's modular design and unique buisness model has quickly taken hold and grown, like the foliage that lines this track, across the UK.
Even as more and more third party private land owners become part of what is being called an internet of transportation, and a return to the glorious feel, comfort, style and convince of the railway, many remain cautious.
Eddy Steven from Newpocket seems to represent the view of many detractors, reporting that the once scenic countryside around this small middle England town is now Carved up with unsightly metal track, at least roads and proper and traditional, some of these carriages are being sent by robots for god knows what, just anyone can send requests to these services, I've seen them on the internet, and we could have done something about that too had we caught it in time too, it's just not right, even saw one going back and forth laying track, they might be able to do that in Russia but we don't do that kind of thing here, what if it lays a route though a school, it's just not Cricket., Good hard working brits wont stand for getting as much done while doing less work..
What is undeniable, on both sides of the line, is that not long ago, this all seemed like a dream, when it was almost unspoken but equally undeniable that the networks of old had abandoned even trying to appeal to wallet of the common man.
Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs - Frome Exhibition, Saturday 6th January 2018
Armed with my new video camera - Sony PJ410 - I visited a new exhibition on the calendar - The Wessex Association of Model Railway Clubs, at the Cheese & Grain, in Frome, Somerset.
I had a few reservations about this place as a venue for an exhibition, having previously been to a swapmeet there, and so it was no surprise to find a cramped enviroment, with much pushing and shoving going on - not helped by the E shaped layout of walkways around the exhibits. The lighting was pretty dire too. Anyway, I bagged a few required wagons before doing some filming. I hope you enjoy the results of my visit.

WALKING IN BEDFORDSHIRE | FLITWICK | US MRE MENU 24
I was joined by Candice for this 5.5 mile day walk on New Year's Day in and around the town of Flitwick in Bedfordshire.
We didn't really know what to expect with this one, thinking that it would be a bit of a relaxed but never the less urban and perhaps boring walk. How wrong we were! The route took us to the outskirts of the town where we passed through Flitwick Moor and it's woodland and wetland area, as well as the ancient Flitwick Wood.
We stopped for a bite to eat on the moor which consisted of a US MRE Menu 24: Southwest style beef and black beans. It was AMAZING! We ended the walk with a cider in The Swan beside the railway line.

Worthing MRC Railway Exhibition 2018 - Saturday 29th September
Saturday 29th September 2018 and I make the 108 mile trek to Durrington on Sea for Worthing Model Railway Clubs 2018 exhibition.
I had not been to this event before, but it looked fairly straightforward with only 1 change of train required.
If only the walk from the station to the event was as simple! I had done my homework on the internet, but still managed to miss the entrance to the school (well hidden with little or no signage) and ended up walking most of the way around the school campus before I found it! Most would say I need the exercise!
Anyway, a very nice selection of layouts and traders - I was aware a couple of traders had pulled out - made for a good impression for my visit. As with a lot of school venues, these were in a couple of smaller halls and spread along communal walkways, which can make things a bit disjointed, but this worked well. A free guide included with your entry was much appreciated.
I hope you enjoy the film. You will notice there is a bias towards post steam layouts being featured. To be honest, I missed 5 layouts from filming and 4 of these were steam layouts, so this still meant there were more diesel / electric layouts in attendance. There were 4 or 5 layouts that really did it for me, so Im not going to try and choose a best at show.
If you enjoyed the film, please feel free to share, comment and subscribe to this channel.

Fareham Model Railway Club Exhibition - Saturday 7th October 2017 part 1
On Saturday 7th October, I visited the Fareham and District Model Railway Clubs annual exhibition, at the Fareham Sports Centre. I like this show because a) its easy to get by train from my home, b) there are normally some nice big, active layouts and c) there is a good selection of traders! This year was no exception and a thoroughly enjoyable day out was had.
This video is only part 1 - part 2 to follow. I hope you enjoy them both
