Llanelli Theatre (Y Ffwrnes), Wales - Tannoy installation report
The new state of the art theater Y Ffwrnes opened it's doors to the public in Llanelli, Wales in 2013. A brand new state of the art theatre, the first of its kind, the project features an all Tannoy sound system throughout, powered by Lab.gruppen's C Series amplifiers.
The project was designed by Chris Baldwin of ACT Consultancy Services and was installed by leading installation company, Northern Light.

'Yr Ffwrnes' is a £15-million state of the art theatre development that has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Welsh Government, Carmarthenshire County Council and the University of Wales, Trinity St David and will be the first of its kind in West Wales.
BOF specified and supplied furniture throughout this brand new building that will be used for theatrical productions, school performances, workshops and community projects. New and exciting furniture ranges in carefully selected colours were used to compliment the modern architecture.

Llanelli, the largest town in both the county of Carmarthenshire and the preserved county of Dyfed, Wales, sits on the Loughor estuary on the West Wales coast, approximately 10 miles west-northwest of Swansea and 12 miles south-east of the county town, Carmarthen. The town is famous for its proud rugby tradition and is a centre of tinplate production.
In the mid-20th century, Llanelli was the largest town in the world where more than half the population spoke a Celtic language. It is ranked the 7th largest urban area in Wales. According to the 2011 UK Census returns, 23.7% of Llanelli town residents could speak the Welsh language.
