The Simon Evans Way, Cleobury Mortimer (A Walking Guide)

Walking the Simon Evans Way.

The Simons Evans Way starts and finishes at Cleobury Mortimer and takes you on a journey alongside the River Rea heading North visiting the significant properties and Farms that would have made up the Post Round of the famous Poet Simon Evans.

Having walked ‘most’ of the route several times I thought it only right and proper to walk the whole route from beginning to end and thought I ought to document it in video at the same time.

If you’re considering walking this yourself then hopefully you’ll find this short film useful as some of the way markers have faded away and there are a few ‘less than obvious’ navigation points that you could easily miss.

It took me about 6 hours and I wasn’t rushing and stopped a couple of times for a brew.
The Car Park shown doesn’t charge so you can leave your vehicle there for the day or even overnight. There is accommodation both in Cleobury Mortimer and also at Hardwick Farm (B&B).

There are two pubs within reach of the route, one at Stottesdon (The Fighting Cocks) and the New Inn at Oreton. Both do food if you fancy breaking the route up to more ‘leisurely pace’!
