CAIRO Day 1, The GREAT PYRAMIDS of Giza & Mall of Egypt | Together In Egypt Episode 2
***TOGETHER IN EGYPT Episode 2 (Stream at 1080p for BETTER-QUALITY video)***
Welcome to Episode 2 of my new travel vlog series: Together In Egypt. Day 1 in Cairo! I think up to that point I was on the actual plane in the air more than I was in on the ground. It was at least over 30 hours with transit from Perth to Cairo. Anyway, we wasted no time, my uncle was likeLet's go to the Pyramids while you're fresh from overseas!Hahaha, surprisingly I had energy to go to the Great Pyramids of Giza the next morning after I landed last night. GUYS! It is a site of AWESOME! A true jaw-dropping human invention/engineering. From Cairo city centre to the Pyramids is not far, you can just Uber it. My recommendation is to come in Egypt's Winter tome, less harsh sunlight and probably less tourists. It costed 160 Egyptian pounds to get in which is not too bad. If you want to get in some of the chambers inside, you have to pay extra. I was not that interested in them so I didn't go. You can actually see more of everything in the Egyptian Museum! With that said, don't plan your trip now cuz they are in the middle of renovation and moving to a new location which is near the road entry to the Pyramids. I would say give it another 6 months or a year for them to properly place all the artifacts before planning your trip. After that, we all went to Mall of Egypt which is quite near the Pyramids. It was so good to shop again! Food in Egypt is so cheap compared to Australia. Don't forget to check out my other food videos and travel vlog series :) Follow me on IG @tovnadavid Kpop reaction channel Have a good day!

A Very Bulgari Xmas // The First Mall
Santa got all fancy on us this year when luxury jewellery brand, Bulgari was transformed into a magical winter wonderland. The city's hottest mamas brought their adorable bambinos to participate in all the festive activities lined up for the jolly season, while the ladies dazzled in Bulgari jewelry and mingled with some bubbly and delicious bites. And because a Christmas evening wouldn't be complete without the right look, designer and fashionista Malak El Ezzawy designed some fun tutus, bow ties and head pieces for the children.

Downtown, Cairo, Egypt - The Urban Center of Cairo
Downtown, Cairo, Egypt - It has been regarded as the urban center of Cairo since the 19th century and it is now where most of the Egyptian landmarks that located in Cairo are found.
Downtown, Cairo (وسط البلد in Arabic) has been built with using the help of French hands in order to impress on the importance of placing the European architectural style of buildings in the area as well as implementing some of the other European urban planning that include wide streets and the geometrical harmony.
Being the urban center of Cairo for all these years, downtown Cairo is still considered the center of Cairo in general when it comes to reaching out for other destinations and one of the places where a lot of tourists prefer to book their hotels in order to be close to as many landmarks and touristic places as possible.
There are different places to visit in Cairo in general but when it comes to the downtown area, there are a couple of things to be mentioned. Talaat Harb sqaure is one of the landmarks that mark the downtown area in Cairo. Talaat Harb sqaure is where the statue of Talaat Harb, the founder of Banque Misr is located; this is a place where you will pass by or else get the chance to see if you decided to sit in Groppi, the first and oldest ice cream shop to be found in downtown Cairo and the one that managed to live until today, that it started to become a landmark on its own.
Abdeen sqaure is another famous attraction in downtown, Cairo, Egypt, and this mainly goes back to Abdeen Palace that is placed there. There are several restaurants and cafes to be found in Abdeen square and there are some festivals that take place there as well. Abdeen Palace has been one of the famous residential palaces for the presidents of Egypt before it all moves to Etihadia Palace.
Qasr El Nil Bridge is not like a touristic place to head for but this is also a place where you will most probably pass by when you are going back and forth from downtown to other places like Zamalek. Qasr El Nile Bridge has been always famous with the lions that stand on its entrance, making it different from any other bridge that could be found in Cairo. This has always been considered the first bridge to link central Cairo, downtown, to other areas found around across the Nile River.
Tahrir square is one of the biggest squares that could be found in Cairo, Egypt, and it is found in downtown where some old buildings and attractions are found as well, such as the Egyptian Museum. This square is known to be the place for the political demonstrations done and the latest was the 2011 revolution in Cairo.
The Egyptian Museum ( comes next on the list and this is the place where most of the Pharaonic antiquities are found and is also the place were lots of important pieces of Egyptian history is placed. The Egyptian Museum is one of those destinations and Cairo attractions that tourists place on the list of places to visit in Cairo, Egypt, and it also happens to be in downtown area.
There are some attractions that are located near the downtown area that people consider them part of it, such as Cairo Tower ( which is technically placed on Zamalek Island but which people always consider it part of downtown since it is only minutes away and could be also reached by walking - of course according to which part of downtown you are staying at. Cairo Tower is believed to be the second most famous landmark in Cairo after the Pyramids although it is not that much old, and it is considered the longest building in Egypt and North Africa.
These are most of the things that one could manage to visit in the downtown area of Cairo. The most important thing to mention here is the Nile River which is considered part of El Zamalek Island, downtown, Maadi residence area; it is actually the river that links lots of areas together.
The best thing to do in downtown, Cairo, Egypt, is to walk through its streets in order to spot those old European buildings built there, experience walking through those Egyptian streets along with their shops, and finally getting the chance to see those squares with statues found around which you might not get the chance to enjoy while being in a car (
Egypt has always been known as the country that is stuffed with several museums, monuments, buildings, temples, and other attractions that reveal the rich history that it has and this always makes Egypt one of the Arabian countries in the Middle East that people would be willing to visit in order to enjoy what the old Pharaohs have previously done.
From the general tips that you should keep in mind when it comes to walking the streets of downtown is to take good care of your belongings and never be too easy with beggars.
Downtown, Cairo, Egypt, is a hell of an experience, if you have been there and walked through it, tell us about it all :-)

This is what Egypt's new capital will look like | ITV News
Egypt is best known as the birthplace of civilisation and home to the only surviving ancient wonder of the world, the Pyramids of Giza.
But the country’s latest mega project could be the largest yet: relocating its capital 30 miles east of ancient Cairo, at a cost of £35 billion and rising.
ITV On Assignment's John Irvine visits the new capital city that promises a utopia: green spaces, mega malls, shiny and sleek housing - everything Cairo is not.
But it comes at a price; most Egyptians won’t be able to afford even the cheapest new housing, leading critics to argue that this is a city for the rich.
Opponents say Cairo could be left forgotten and abandoned as President El-Sisi moves his entire government to the new capital rising out of the desert.

Where to Go in Cairo, Egypt - Places to Visit in Cairo
Cairo, Egypt - The history, civilization, and the amount of treasure that this country carries always attract the tourists to it. Egypt is filled with lots of sightseeing tours that one should experience and there are different museums, temples, gardens, mosques, and other landmarks which always impress those visiting it.
We have been in Egypt and discovered that all the days one will manage to stay in this country will be filled with plans to be done and which will be related to the things one is supposed to see and which are related to different eras; you could visit those from the Islamic era, those related to the Pharaohs, as well as those which might have been built during the 20th century but still in the early beginning of it.
We are here to help you with some of the places we enjoyed visiting and those which we recommend, both for exploring the history of Egypt as well as for relaxing a little bit in the middle of all the walking you will be involved with.
The first suggestion is the great pyramids of Giza, which will probably already be the first on your list. The pyramids of Giza are from the Pharaonic time and they are the tombs for their owners because they believed in the afterlife and wanted a tomb that would be enough for their bodies as well as their belongings. In the pyramids you could pay a ticket to enter the whole area in general and you could also pay extra fees to enter the pyramid itself from the inside. (
The second Egyptian attraction to shed the lights on is the Egyptian Museum which carries different artifacts that tell people about the history of the country ( Some of these artifacts have been carried out in order to be placed in the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. The Egyptian Museum is found in the downtown area - Tahrir square - which means that you could have a walk in this place and see the old buildings which were inspired by the French buildings.
Egypt generally is known to be a place where there aren't lots of green areas to be spotted around but some old Egyptians managed to exert some effort and time to bring out parks to the people. From those which we consider good suggestions, there is Al Andalus park found on El Zamalek island and which was a gift from Khedive Ismail to his wife; the best thing about this park is that you will be walking by the Nile River and will also see some old statues there ( Another park is Al Azhar and this one is considered the largest in Cairo, Egypt, near the old Cairo place and which is one to choose for having dinner or lunch with a view of the citadel and old Cairo. And the last option here is also found in Zamalek and is the aquarium grotto garden which has always been the place for celebrities to have a walk and was even spotted in a lot of black and white Egyptian movies.
The journey is still going on. Since we have mentioned Al Azhar park which is only minutes away from old Cairo, then we have to mention that visiting old Cairo where El Moez street is found is considered a must ( there you will get the chance to see old buildings built in the Islamic design and you will also manage to see different mosques there, not just that, but will come across famous places or museums such as Beit El Sehemy ( Getting done with these attractions, you could have a walk until you reach Khan El Khalili market and enjoy a good cup of mint tea in one of the old Egyptian style coffee shops found there (
Again, there are lots of destinations in Cairo, Egypt, which are too close to one another. In addition to Al Azhar park and old Cairo which are so close, there is also Cairo citadel (also known as Salah Al Din citadel) and the religious community which are all around the same area. In Cairo citadel you will walk there to check different mosques including the most famous one, Muhammad Ali mosque, and different museums as well ( Getting done with the tour in Salah Al Din citadel, you could then move forward to the religious community, the place where the three different religions are found in the same area; the hanging church, Amr Ibn El-Aas mosque, as well as Bin Ezra synagogue (
There are some other landmarks in Cairo which you will need to visit and one of them is Cairo Tower. This tower was considered the tallest building in Africa for 10 years before another was built in South Africa, so it is now considered the tallest in Egypt and North Africa for about 50 years now. This place will give you the chance to view central Cairo from above or even have dinner at the rotating restaurant found up there (

Hi! We're Hannah and Chad! We met at college and got married in August of 2016. As poor newlyweds and recent college grads, we moved to New York City to begin our careers in finance. Only one year later, after accumulating over 2 million miles and points through travel hacking, we booked round-the-world business class tickets to over 40 countries for free. We quit our jobs, sold everything we owned, and began this once-in-a-lifetime adventure on August 27, 2018.
