쿠리치바 한가운데 위치한 꽃의 거리. 거리 곳곳에 위치한 분수와 조약돌이 박힌 바닥이 편안하고 아름다운 느낌을 전한다. 약 1킬로미터에 이르는 꽃의 거리는 지난 1970년대 초반에 조성된 보행자 전용도로다.도시 한 가운데에 있으면서도 자동차는 들어올 수 없는 도로인 것이다. 꽃의 거리 한 켠에서 쉽게 볼 수 있는 푸드 트럭. 리 포장마차처럼 간단한 먹을거리를 파는 곳이다. 고소한 냄새에 이끌려 다가가 봤다. 독특한 식감을 가진 타피오카 가루 반죽에 연유를 듬뿍 뿌린 다음 프라이팬에서 구워내는데, 우리나라의 호떡과 비슷한 길거리 음식이라고 한다. 과연 맛은 어떨까, 크게 한입 베어 물었다. 쫀득하면서 달콤한 맛이 우리 입맛에도 잘 맞을 듯했다. 푸드 트럭의 먹을거리는 이 뿐만이 아니다. 날이 어두워지자 푸드 트럭이 더 늘어난다. 친구나 가족과의 저녁 식사를 푸드 트럭에서 해결하는 것이 쿠리치바의 문화라고 한다. 식사 보다 술이 우선인 우리 포장마차와 달리 이곳 사람들은 식사를 위해 푸드트럭을 찾는다. 그 중 특히 인기를 누리는 음식은브라질의 전통요리인 슈하스코를 연상시키는 고기 꼬치구이다.일단 냄새부터 군침을 삼키게 한다. 나도 저녁식사로 꼬치구이를 선택했다. 쿠리치바 시민들 틈에서 맛본 꼬치구이는 짭짤하고 고소한 브라질의 맛이었다.

BELÉM, BRAZIL - What an amazing city for food lovers - so many unique dishes, foods, ingredients from the Amazon, and so many amazingly friendly and hospitable people. This was one of the best days of my trip to Brazil.
Ver-o-peso Market - One this Amazonian street food tour of Belem, we started at the market, one of the must visit attractions in the city. It’s all you could want in an Amazon market - full of freshwater fish, herbs, vegetables, and fruits out of control.
Jambu Cachaça - After walking around the fish market section and seeing some of the amazingly brightly colored chilies, I was introduced to Jambu Cachaça, Brazil’s sugarcane liquor spiced up seriously with jambu - an Amazon tongue numbing flower and leaves. Wow, it’s serious.
Beef soup - 6 BRL ($.155) - We stopped an a friendly man selling Brazil nuts, and right then, a lady came around selling soups for breakfast. We had a beef soup, very hearty and delicious. I tried the jambu flower for the first time, so strong and so good. We then ate some Brazil nuts, a superfood packed with nutrition.
Fruit juice - There’s nothing like Amazon fruits and here’s the juices we tried: Cupuaçu, Cacao, Bacuri, Acerola
Box da Eliana e Kelly - And here’s where this Amazon street food tour in Brazil got out of control. Our friends in Belem had organised with Eliana, from Box da Eliana e Kelly to host us for an amazing Amazon food lunch, where all their friends at the market each cooked their speciality and brought it to the table. There was so much good food and so much love I could hardly believe it. Lots of the Belem Amazon foods contained tucupi (sauce from wild manioc), jambu flowers and leaves, and Pirarucu fish.

Tacacá Da Diva - 4 pm is the best time in Belem to eat one of the most amazing street food in the city, and I would say one of the best street foods in Brazil - Tacacá, I still can’t believe how good it is, and how it’s not loved all over the world! We also had Vatapá. Price - 13 BRL ($3.35) per bowl
Rosário Lanches - Finally to finish this Amazon street food tour of Belem, Brazil, we went to Rosário Lanches, a legendary stall. We tried both their roasted pork let and their hot dog, both of which were incredibly delicious.
What am unforgettable day of Amazonian food in Belém, Brazil. Thank you to everyone who made it happen and to everyone for preparing the amazing food.

CURITIBA, BRAZIL - Curitiba is located in the Paraná state of southern Brazil. It’s a pleasant city, and they known especially for meat. In this video we go on a Brazilian food tour of Curitiba, explore some of the iconic meat dishes of the city, and eat a 5 kilo family sandwich! #Brazil #BrazilianFood #hugefood
Mercearia Fantinato - Carne de onça (Jaguar meat), known as jaguar meat, yet of course not jaguar at all, this steak tartare (raw minced beef) got its name because of the raw meat breath you’ll have after you eat it. It’s mixed table-side, and it’s delicious.

Costelão do Gaúcho - One of the things that Curitiba is known for, and all of southern Brazil, is meat - and especially the beef ribs are among the prized cut. Costelão do Gaúcho is an amazing restaurant that specializes in beef ribs. The owner is a master, treating each rack of ribs with respect and roasting and smoking them with precision. I loved his table saw method of cutting the ribs. The ribs were outstanding, as was the entire meal with all the side salads and dishes.
4 Beans Coffee Co. - We stopped in for a quick coffee, but that turned into a coffee roasting session, which was fantastic.
Lanchonete da Lombada - Here we go, the mega 5 kg. Lombada sandwich. Lombada means speedbump in Portuguese, because it was formerly a street food stall right in front of the speedbump. It was just insane, huge bun, layers of meat, hot dogs, massive quantities of squeeze cheese. It’s not a food challenge, but a very popular local family meal in Curitiba, Brazil. Total price - 50 BRL ($12.45)
Tio Dog (Uncle Dog) - Probably one of the most iconic of all the Brazilian fast food in Curitiba is TIo Dog, specialising in a number of different sandwiches and hot dogs. We got The Philadelphia, a bun filled with hot dogs, a variety of unknown sauces, and little crunchy chip fries. It’s one of those late night impulse foods - not something I’d eat on a daily basis.
Curitiba was fun, and it was a Brazilian food tour of meat!

Curitiba is the capital of Paraná, Brazil. If you're heading for Iguaçu Falls from Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, it's worth stopping by for a day or two. Curitiba is one of the largest cities in the prosperous Southern region, and its population is largely descended from German, Ukrainian, Russian, Italian and Polish immigrants. The city is known to urban planners worldwide for its innovative public transit system.
There is a great cidade velha (old city) in the center which was restored very well for its 319 years, but unfortunately much of it is covered in graffiti and only a few of the buildings are aesthetically pleasing as a result. There is a huge arts and crafts fair every Sunday in the old city that is well worth visiting.Curitiba has a very simple and practical transportation system. Public transportation consists entirely of buses. There are several different types of bus, each with a different function.
Driving can be difficult for those who are not used to the traffic in Curitiba, especially for first comers. In the central area, there are many one-way streets, parking restrictions as well as pedestrian-only and bus-only streets. Bus lanes are very common in Curitiba, as the city has over 60 km (38 miles) of them. Most avenues are wide and have spacious sidewalks and they are mostly laid out in a grid system in the city center area.
Many visitors from outside Brazil are not prepared to feel cold in this tropical country. This is precisely the case in Curitiba, located off from the tropic parallel, and elevated by an altitude of almost 1000 meters above the sea level. Curitiba has a good variety of restaurants, ranging from modest to upscale restaurants. Note that the downtown (centro) area caters mainly to the business lunch crowd, and is very quiet at night with many restaurants closed. On Sundays nearly all bars and restaurants are closed downtown.
Curitiba has also taken innovative approaches to urban ills such as homelessness, pollution and poverty, and it’s now the envy of urban planners the world over and the country's most efficient city. With its abundant green spaces, sophisticated population and well-heeled infrastructure, this is a good spot to recharge your batteries and enjoy Brazil at its functioning best.
