Tale of Two Pubs Part 3
Surrey Sound has been following the fortunes of two pub threatened with closure - The Limes in Merstham and the Garibaldi in Redhill.
At present the Limes continues to stay open although further appeals by the pub's owners are being considered.
Better news at the Garibaldi in Redhill. Back in April, the shutters came down and it looked as though Redhill had lost another pub.
However the locals formed themselves into a group - the Friends of the Garibaldi and after much hard work, took over the lease of the pub.
The pub is now open for business and Tess Lewsey went along to their opening night last Thursday evening.
Ashford, Middlesex, (Surrey). Town walk, Part 3 of 6. Feb 2015
Filmed in sepia and with a little acceleration to give a slightly unreal and retro feel. One of six short films to illustrate a suburban town near Heathrow Airport on a gloomy February day with some drizzle.

Negotiating Felbridge (East Grinstead) road junction
A tractor unit and 5-axle trailer, with articulated bulk carrier load, negotiates the sharp left-hand bend to head northwards onto the A22 at Felbridge, near East Grinstead. I was first in the queue at the lights on the A22. The lights went green several times but there was no way I was doing what the motor-cyclist did! Watch how the keep left sign springs back up into position after the tractor unit backs over it.
