The Forth - Newcastle-upon Tyne
A brief walk around the new refurbed bar...
Newcastle Upon tyne. Driving past the Central Station and along part of Scotswood Road. 11.08.1991.
I managed to save this video from some old video tapes I did while on a visit to Newcastle back in 1991. Some of it is filmed by my (then) little boy holding the camera facing backwards, and part of it facing forwards. This area has changed so much since then, so I hope you enjoy these snippets of history. Sorry about the quality.

*NB: British Pathe website user has reported that the town is actually Newport - Gwent (Monmouthshire at that time). The transporter bridge is still in existence - but the docks are rather reduced.
Amendment June 2011:
Somebody wrote in to suggest that this is Newport Monmouthshire with its famous transporter bridge. In Cardiff the City Hall and National Museum of Wales are visible. This dates the film to after late 1920s.
