Timeline for this walking tour (in walking order, approx time-stamps):
00:00:00 Walk starts at west end of historic Marina in old town Kaleiçi of Antalya, Turkey
Antalya Kaleiçi (old town, old quarter) has narrow, winding streets enclosed in ancient city walls, which now protect the peaceful quarter from the noise of the concrete metropolis of a million people. The northern part (Selçuk and Tuzcular sections) of Kaleiçi is mostly touristy shops and restaurants lining the narrow mazelike streets. The Kilinçarslan section is a little more quiet and still charming. Although there are other entrances, it is best to enter and exit the old quarter from charming Hadrianus Gate, built by the Roman emperor Hadrianus as the entrance arch to the city. Hadrian Gate will lead you to Kilinçarslan district.
Antalya Kaleiçi is the name given to the city center which is surrounded by sea and land walls within the borders of Muratpaşa district of Antalya. The streets and structures of Kaleiçi bring traces of Antalya history to the present day. The importance of old houses is not only important in terms of architecture, but also provides useful information about people's lifestyle, behavior, traditions and social aspects.
The streets of Kaleici are narrow. They mostly extend from the harbor towards the outer walls. Houses may vary according to their economic strength and purpose of use. But the common features are many. They are usually made of masonry and wood. They all have a street façade and a non-street garden. On the face facing the street, there are very few windows on the first floor. On the upper floor there are overhangs called Cumba which are made in accordance with both house and street architecture. These are decorated with tree decorations. The center of the houses is on the ground floor, which opens to the garden and has stone floors. There are sofas for resting in the woods. The rooms on the ground floor can be accessed from here and the upper floor can be reached by a staircase. The ground floor of the house is more the service part. Rooms such as warehouses and kitchens are located here. The upper floor is for life. The rooms on the upper floor are lighter as the windows are larger. Mostly these rooms have two rows of windows in a row. The upper windows are glassless and consist of tree lattices and the lower windows are open and close. The upper windows of the bay windows have small size and usually colored glass. Many houses in Kaleici have been restored to their originality. Today, Kaleiçi has become a tourism center with entertainment places, hostels, restaurants, souvenir shops and antique carpet shops. In addition, the most famous mosque in Kaleiçi is Yivli Minare Mosque, which is also seen as the symbol of Antalya.
Enjoy the video in 4K UHD in HDR. HDR enables further dynamic range and thus further details in high dynamic range and high contrast situations. It's advised to watch on compatible 4K TVs and 4K displays of Sony, Panasonic, LG, etc.

House of the Virgin Mary, Selçuk, İzmir, Aegean Region, Turkey, Asia
The House of the Virgin Mary is a Catholic and Muslim shrine located on Mt. Koressos in the vicinity of Ephesus, 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from Selçuk in Turkey. The house was discovered in the 19th century by following the descriptions in the reported visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824), a Roman Catholic nun and visionary, which were published as a book by Clemens Brentano after her death. While the Catholic Church has never pronounced in favour or against the authenticity of the house, it nevertheless has maintained a steady flow of pilgrimage since its discovery. Anne Catherine Emmerich was Beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 3, 2004. Catholic pilgrims visit the house based on the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken to this stone house by Saint John and lived there until her Assumption (according to Catholic doctrine) or Dormition (according to Orthodox belief). The shrine has merited several papal Apostolic Blessings and visits from several popes, the earliest pilgrimage coming from Pope Leo XIII in 1896, and the most recent in 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI. The shrine itself is not extensively large, but may rather be described as a modest chapel. The preserved stones and construction date back into the Apostolic Age, as consistent with other preserved buildings from that time, but with minor additions such as garden landscapes and devotional additions outside the shrine. Upon entrance to the chapel, a pilgrim is met by one single large room where an altar along with a large statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary is prominently displayed in the center. On the right side, a smaller room lies traditionally associated with the actual room where the Virgin Mary is believed to have slept. Marian tradition holds that some form of running water used to flow like a canal in the smaller room where the Virgin Mary slept and rested, leading to the present drinking fountain outside the building structure.
