Vladimirska - Zakochany Kozak - Magazyn Kultury 18.04.2013
The retro-carnival sound of Vladimirska began when Scotia Gilroy, a Canadian accordion-player living in Krakow, started accompanying a pantomime clown show with circus music that she composed herself. After the actor she was performing with returned to Berlin, she was struck by the idea of creating a band in Krakow to compose and perform this type of music. She began to compose and perform with various Krakow-based musicians. Since Vladimirska's first public performance as a full band in February 2010 in Krakow, the response to their music has been enthusiastic. Since then, Vladimirska has been performing constantly in their hometown of Krakow and beyond. They've played at German festivals such as Fusion Festival in Rostock (July 2011), Down by the River in Berlin (July 2010), Polish festivals such as Slot Fest (February 2010 and October 2011) Fete de la Musique (June 2010), Folkowisko (August 2012), Folkolory (August 2012), and the Barbakan Festival in Slovakia (September 2011). They performed live music to the 1929 silent film Mocny Człowiek at the National Museum in Krakow during the Night of Museums (May 2010). Their music is frequently featured by Wojtek Waglewski and Fisz on the program Magiel Wagli on Polskie Radio 3 (Polish National Radio). In June 2012 they released their debut video for their song Werewolf, directed and produced by Mateo Zaręba.
