La Grande Hermine - Jordan Harbour - Ontario, Canada - 02/06/18
La Grande Hermine (The Big Weasel) is one of the most recognizable landmarks along the Niagara stretch of the Queen Elizabeth Way. The 140 foot ship was created as a replica of the largest of 3 ships French Explorer Jacques Cartier sailed up the St. Lawrence River. It was originally built in Quebec in 1914 and began its life as a ferry on the St. Lawrence and later became a cargo ship, a floating restaurant, and in 1991 converted to a replica ship. At one time the vessel was turned into a haunted pirate ship at Halloween to raise money for a hot lunch program for students. The derelict ship's final resting place is the Jordan Harbour just off the western shore of Lake Ontario, between the cities of Hamilton and St. Catharines. This abandoned shipwreck came to the Jordan Harbour in 1997, and was the victim of an arson fire in January of 2003, causing this piece of history to go up in smoke. What's left of the ship remains rusting, damaged and run down, but is still an interesting site to see. It was towed to the Jordan Harbour to await further relocation to a spot near Niagara Falls in hopes of turning it into a gambling venue, but the owner passed away before permission was received. This shipwreck has since been a distinctive landmark and favourite roadside attraction to many, and also referred to as 'the pirate ship' in Niagara

Pirate Ship
This is the Grande Hermine, a replica of a pirate ship that was brought to Jordan Station Ontario decades ago. It caught fire and has sat like this ever since. So I thought I'd fly around it while the harbor was still frozen. Watch for an update in the spring.

Urbex: ABANDONED SHIP, La Grande Hermine (THE BIG WEASEL)
Exploring an old ship which was abandoned in Jordan Harbour, St. Catharines, Ontario in 1997. It is a replica of La Grande Hermine, a ship that the French explorer, Jacques Cartier, sailed to explore the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes in 1535. It was used as a floating restaurant in Montreal. Unfortunately, in 2003, there was a suspicious fire which ruined the boat along with all of its fancy woodwork

Rockway Conservative Area - Lincoln, Ontario
This has been a spot i’ve wanted to hike for awhile. With Spring thaw in effect I knew the waterfall would be following very well. This was a very challenging hike, especially towards the end to actually climb up to the waterfall which i didn’t get on GoPro because it needed both hands to climb. The dogs had a great time just running around freely and so did I exploring this great area.

Jordan, Ontario
A small ride in a well loved road in the Niagara area of Ontario, Canada. Taken in the first week of spring, so it isn't as scenic as it usually is. This is also my first attempt at filming and editing video.

this is my favorite sub shop in the whole world. where else can you get a fresh bun with meats, cheeses and veggies and then have DESSERT!
Fresh baked goodies. My favorite is the cherry cheese cake and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I love the other desserts as well. There's limited seating outside only two tables *usually full*
so grab a bite then drive straight down queenston st to church st. Hang a right on Queen St and park near Montebello Park where there's loads of picnic tables and a nice gazebo and paviliion to keep you dry. Also washrooms are here and a lovely rose garden and kids playground with all sorts of fun things to play on.
5 minute drive.
the greater general hospital is across the street and Quest Health and Community Care is one block up towards the Fortis Restaurant.
