Places to see in ( Ramsgate - UK )
Ramsgate is a seaside town in the district of Thanet in east Kent, England. Ramsgate was one of the great English seaside towns of the 19th century. Ramsgate’s main attraction is its coastline, and its main industries are tourism and fishing. The town has one of the largest marinas on the English south coast, and the Port of Ramsgate has provided cross-channel ferries for many years.
Ramsgate is located 78 miles from central London in an east south-easterly direction at one of the most easterly points of the United Kingdom (the furthest point east is Lowestoft in Suffolk). The town is an amalgamation of two settlements: a fishing community on the coast in the shallow valley between two chalk cliffs, and an inland farming community that is now the Parish of St Lawrence. The cliffs are known as the East Cliff and the West Cliff and are predominantly residential areas.
Ramsgate's main attraction is its coastline, particularly Ramsgate Main Sands, which was awarded a Blue Flag in 2015. Ramsgate's wartime deep shelter tunnels are open to the public for tours, which have been running since 2014. The local council publishes a website specifically aimed at tourists visiting Ramsgate and neighbouring towns. There is an annual regatta event based at Ramsgate during the summer. Ramsgate has developed a continental café style culture with bars and restaurants on its seafront parade. Ramsgate carnival is an annual parade that takes place during the summer.
The Port of Ramsgate has a 700 berth marina, Royal Harbour Marina, and a ferry terminal built on reclaimed land. Ramsgate is connected to the national road network primarily through the A299 Thanet Way, which continues on to the M2/A2 for the M25 (approx 1 hour) and London. Ramsgate railway station is situated at the top of the town near the parish of St Lawrence.

Places to see in ( St Osyth - UK )
St Osyth is a village and civil parish in northeast Essex. It is about 5 miles west of Clacton-on-Sea, and about 12 miles southeast of Colchester. It is located on the B1027 road and is named after Osyth, a 7th-century saint and princess. The name is locally pronounced Toosey. St Osyth is claimed to be the driest recorded place in the United Kingdom.
Before being renamed to commemorate Saint Osyth, the village was called Chich (also Chiche or Chick), from an Old English word meaning bend, in reference to St Osyth Creek. Thomas Darcy, the first Baron Darcy of Chiche was buried in St. Osyth.
St Osyth was the subject of an episode of Channel 4's Time Team programme, Lost Centuries of St Osyth, (series 12 episode 9, first broadcast in February 2005). This programme sought to uncover the early origins of the village, which was presumed to have grown up at around the same time as the Priory, in the twelfth century. Many of the investigations around the current village centre found little evidence of settlement earlier than the fourteenth century; it appeared that the early village centre lay some way off, between the Priory and the river.
The village was a focus for the St Osyth witch persecutions in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries with a total of ten local women being hanged as a result. In 1921 the skeletons of two women were discovered in the garden of a house in the village. One was claimed to be the witch Ursley Kempe who was the first to be prosecuted. The skeletons became a local tourist attraction.
St Osyth is claimed to be the driest recorded place in the United Kingdom with an average rainfall of just 513 mm per year. Although a significant part of the parish boundary is coast which does not need to be beaten, St Osyth is one parish which maintains the tradition of beating the bounds on Rogation days.
The neighbouring settlement of St Osyth Beach contains Essex's largest concentration of static caravan parks, including Seawick, St Osyth Beach (owned by Park Holidays UK) & Hutleys. The holiday parks boost the local population in the summer months by an estimated 7,000 people. Part of the beach is usd by naturists for nude bathing.

Serial killer - David Bieber bodybuilder serial killer
Serial killer - David Bieber bodybuilder serial killer
Bieber entered the United Kingdom on September 26, 1996 through the port of Ramsgate, Kent using the false passport. He was given a six-month visa, but it was extended until his marriage to Denise Horsley in Kendal, Cumbria in March 1997.
In 1998, Bieber arrived in Yorkshire, where he worked as a nightclub doorman. He also acquired an arsenal of illegal firearms. In 2001 his wife petitioned for divorce and a decree absolute was granted on May 5, 2002.
On December 26, 2003, on the border between the Gipton and Oakwood areas of Leeds, traffic policemen Ian Broadhurst and Neil Roper saw Bieber's stolen BMW car parked at the junction of Grange Park Avenue and Dib Lane, where Bieber had just been into the adjacent post office.[3][4] They identified the number plates as false, and asked him to accompany them to the police car, where Bieber sat in the back seat. The officers were uneasy and so called for backup which they received from colleague James Banks.
Roper then moved to handcuff Bieber, who - facing imprisonment for various offences in the UK and possible extradition to Florida - drew a 9 mm handgun and fired an initial four shots at the unarmed police officers, who tried to flee. Roper was hit twice in the shoulder and abdomen, but managed to get away. Broadhurst was shot once in the back and immobilised. Banks escaped injury after a bullet hit his radio. Bieber then walked over to where Broadhurst was lying, and fired a fifth shot into his head at point blank range. It was the first fatal shooting of an English police officer for over eight years - the most recent previous being PC Philip Walter of the Metropolitan Police, who was shot dead on 18 April 1995.[2]
After the shootings, Bieber escaped down Dib Lane, and stole a car at gunpoint outside a betting shop further down the road.[5] This caused a lot of confusion in initial news reports of the shootings, which states that the shooting itself happened outside the betting shop.
