Road To Mandalay
In addition to the stately Belmond Governor’s Residence in Yangon, Belmond has been operating the Belmond Road to Mandalay, an 82-guest river cruiser, along Myanmar’s Ayeyarwady River since 1995. In July 2013, they launched the Belmond Orcaella, a smaller 50-guest barge named after a local species of dolphin, to traverse the narrower and shallower Chindwin River that stretches to the far north of the country.

RIDE TO BE ONE - MYANMAR
RIDE TO BE ONE - MYANMAR
With just a bridge between India and Myanmar, we were met with an absolutely different world on the other side - different language, different currency and a different way of living! It is hard not to wonder, how a simple line can divide people and their way of life.
Through our ride through Myanmar, what struck me is the most is the concept of ‘Family’. Wherever we went – to the restaurants, the shops and even the workshop where we got our brake pads fixed – the entire family was always around. And everyone is at absolute peace with each other – smiling, happy and honest. This is what will be my lasting impression of Myanmar.
About ‘Ride To Be One’
‘Ride To Be One’ is an 18-month world ride being undertaken by two experienced superbikers, Dr Maral Yazarloo and Pankaj Trivedi. The ride that flagged off from India on 15th March 2017 will cover 45+ countries in 7 continents and traverse over 100,000 km. (#RideToBeOne)

Anastasis Leonoglou delivered a deeply conceptual sculpture series, perhaps the most complete of his current works which discusses different aspects of inception of the Home. Anastasis has been working with the Greek Marble Initiative in Myro Antiques House premises in Souroti, Thessaloniki in the summer 2015 in these series. In this interview the sculptor talks with the Greek Mable Initiative co-ordinator and curator Paris Kapralos, to let us see through to his inspiration and way of perceiving his art.
Anastasis Leonoglou graduated from the School of Fine & Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia situated in Florina in 2011. He is holding a degree of Sculpture under the known greek sculptor Prof. Hector Papadakis. In addition, he has built installations in public space, focusing on similar issues. He has exhibited with the Initiative in many occasions.

Breathtaking Sunrise at Bagan, Myanmar
Bagan is an ancient city in central Myanmar (formerly Burma), southwest of Mandalay. Standing on the eastern banks of the Ayeyarwady River, it’s known for the Bagan Archaeological Area, where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over green plains. Holy sites around Old Bagan include ornate Ananda Temple, built in 1091 and topped with a golden stupa. Nearby is the vast 12th-century Dhammayangyi Temple.
