The Grotto at Wyndham/Kununurra - The Kimberleys
The Grotto is just 70kms from Kununurra on the Victoria Hwy on the way to the historic port town of Wyndham. A deep, cavernous gorge that flows throughout the wet season, and is generally one of the last to dry up around late April early May.

The Grotto Kununurra Wyndham WA
The Grotto
Probably the best known of all the waterfalls near Kununurra. It's actually much closer to Wyndham (30km) than to Kununurra (70km).
It's a good place to stop for a swim after a visit to Wyndham. The turn off is sign posted and the road is all sealed.
The Grotto is quite spectacular. A large and deep rock pool enclosed by huge, vertical cliffs. There are 140 steps, part concrete, part rock, that take you down to the permanent waterhole. Moss and bizarrely shaped tree roots adorn the walls and you will often see goannas on the rock ledges.
Some of the ledges are tempting to jump from, but beware of submerged rocks. Do a dive around the area first... Using the Tarzan rope is pretty safe, though :).
The waterfall is obviously most spectacular during the wet. It keeps flowing, and then trickling, for a while after, but even after it has dried up the bottomless pool is always there.
If you like exploring follow the creek and look for Aboriginal art on the rock faces. from

The Grotto - Kununurra - Wyndham - Kimberley - Ben And Titi #E90

Wyndham - Western Australia
The town of Wyndham was established by John Forrest in 1886 as the major port and trading station of the East Kimberley, after finds of gold in Halls Creek a year earlier. By mid-1886, the town was booming. There were six pubs, one of which was a two-storey building. Ships brought in at least five thousand miners who headed off to the Halls Creek goldfields. It is known that during this boom there were times when up to 16 vessels were moored in Cambridge Gulf.

GoPro2, fixed and unstabilised. Still not FPV. First of 4 or 5 films that'll come from this last venture to the Kimberleys.
Mirima is a national park right in Kununurra, Western Australia, and dominates the first half of this video.
The Pilbara then cameos with spinifex tribbles and invisible cowboys, just off the Great Northern Highway somewhere south of Newman, top edge of the Hamersley Ranges, I think. WA, Australia. Was on the way home.
The Grotto is the gorge towards the end, a deep waterhole, a tad manky in the dry season, between Wyndham and Kununurra, WA, Australia.
Lots more footage to come. Buy Do You Realize by The Flaming Lips. They make good soundtrack.

The Grotto Waterfall | Swimming Hole | East Kimberley | Kununurra
Probably the most famous swimming hole in the East Kimberley.
The Grotto is said to be more than 400m deep and is the home of some freshwater crocodiles. It is a great place to have a swim and is especially magical during the wet season when the waterfall is in full flow!
