STEAMTOWN: ON THE MAIN LINE
This fine program presents the history of the Steamtown National Historic Site located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Featuring completely restored steam locomotives and passenger equipment, Steamtown is one of the finest operating railroad museums in the United States.
Beginning with the railroad preservation efforts of Ellis D. Atwood in 1941, you'll learn the fascinating story of Steamtown under the direction of Nelson Blount in New Hampshire and Vermont. The program also showcases many of the locomotives which performed there, including NKP 2-8-4 759, Rahway Valley 2-8-0 15, Canadian National 2-6-0 89, and four handsome Canadian Pacific 4-6-2's.
In 1984, Steamtown moved to Scranton, PA, and the program depicts the transformation of the old Lackawanna railroad yards from a run-down eyesore to a world-class museum and National Park Service historic site. You'll thrill to the dramatic controlled explosion of old city buildings in preparation for the construction of the new Mall at Steamtown, preceded by priceless scenes of steam trains operating over the yard trackage for the last time. There's also fine coverage of the Grand Opening ceremonies featuring a variety of visiting steam locomotives, including famed Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 261.
The highlight of the program is a thrilling ride from Scranton to Moscow along the highly scenic ex-Lackawanna Main Line, featuring a cab ride on the handsome and powerful CP 4-6-2 Class G3 heavy Pacific 2317, complete with great trackside scenes and our exclusive locomotive-mounted ChoochCam views!
Thoroughly documented and beautifully photographed by Master Videographer Marc S. Balkin, this is the definitive Steamtown documentary!
Steamtown: On the Main Line was awarded a prestigious Telly Award in 2002.

Cafe Gitane, Madison Square Garden, Pennsylvania Station, and the East River Pathway.
This is the first part of my video from Saturday August 20, 2011, which was my
fourth day of sightseeing in New York City.
This video shows my breakfast at Cafe Gitane which is the cafe inside of the Jane Hotel. Once I was on the road, the video follows my journey uptown approaching Randalls Island. Along the way I stopped to look at Madison Square Gardens, Pennsylvania Station, The United States Post Office, and the Chealsea Star Hotel.
I rode my bike up 8th avenue to 59th street which is the southern border of
Central Park. I saw lots of horse and buggie handsome cabs lined up along 59th street. When I reached the East River, I went across the FDR expressway on a pedestrian bridge and rode along the East River shared bike/walking path. This is where I had my first view of the Queensboro bridge, and the Roosevelt Island Tramway.
Check out my next video to see my trip to Randalls Island, The Bronx, Yankee Stadium, and lunch at Kennedy Fried Chicken.

CUNY TV Special: Landmarks50 at The City University of New York
The City University of New York and CUNY TV celebrate the 50th anniversary of the signing – on April 19, 1965 – of New York City's Landmarks Law. Created in response to an historic and architectural tragedy – the destruction of the original Penn Station in 1963 – the law has contributed to a greater, more distinctive, and beautiful city.
Landmarks50 at The City University of New York profiles five of 25 architectural treasures preserved and protected by CUNY, two of which are National Historic Landmarks – The Graduate Center, Roosevelt House, and the North Campus of The City College of New York (Manhattan); Gould Memorial Library & Hall of Fame at Bronx Community College (The Bronx); and Louis Armstrong House(Corona, Queens).
The film features commentary from architects Lisa Easton, Hugh Hardy, George Ranalli, Robert A. M. Stern, and Samuel White – a great-grandson of architect Stanford White; historian Blanche Wiesen Cook; preservation pioneer Otis Pratt Pearsall, Esq.; David Reese, Curator, Louis Armstrong House Museum; and jazz great Wycliffe Gordon, among others. Tinabeth Piña is host.

The Philadelphia Story
Katharine Hepburn is the snooty daughter of a wealthy Philadelphia family and about to marry for the second time. Things get hilariously complicated when her cunning ex-husband Cary Grant enters the scene with tabloid reporter James Stewart in tow. While Stewart falls helplessly in love with Hepburn, she rejects her stuffed-shirt fiance and realizes she's still in love with Grant. One of the greatest romantic comedies ever produced, it was recently selected as one of the top 100 American films of all time by the prestigious American Film Institute. Nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and winner for Best Screenplay. Stewart (It's A Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) took home an Oscar for his earnest portrayal of the smitten reporter, and Oscar-winner Hepburn (The African Queen, On Golden Pond) received her third nomination. Liza Mundy: Code Girls | Talks at Google
The award-winning New York Times bestseller about the American women who secretly served as codebreakers during World War II--a prodigiously researched and engrossing (New York Times) book that shines a light on a hidden chapter of American history (Denver Post).
Recruited by the U.S. Army and Navy from small towns and elite colleges, more than ten thousand women served as codebreakers during World War II. While their brothers and boyfriends took up arms, these women moved to Washington and learned the meticulous work of code-breaking. Their efforts shortened the war, saved countless lives, and gave them access to careers previously denied to them. A strict vow of secrecy nearly erased their efforts from history; now, through dazzling research and interviews with surviving code girls, bestselling author Liza Mundy brings to life this riveting and vital story of American courage, service, and scientific accomplishment.
Liza Mundy is a staff writer at the Washington Post and the bestselling author of Michelle: A Biography and Everything Conceivable, among other works. She received her AB degree from Princeton University and earned an MA in English literature at the University of Virginia. She has won awards for essays, profiles, and science writing from the Sunday Magazine Editors Association, the Maryland-Delaware-DC Press Association, the American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors, The Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards, and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. She was a 2003 Kaiser Foundation Media Fellow and a 2005 Media Fellow at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
Chronically Human Podcast Ep 004 The truth about The Opioid Crisis with Dr. Thomas Kline
Thank you for watching this episode of the Chronically Human Podcast where we have conversations aimed at creating a world with more freedom and less suffering. Nothing said today constitutes medical advice. Please consult your healthcare provider for specific issues concerning your health and wellbeing.
Our guest today is Dr. Thomas Kline. He has been practicing medicine for over 40 years, but now retired, he worked at Harvard Med, trained at Stanford and for the last year and a half has been advocating for pain patients who've been negatively affected by the War on Opioids.
Millions of Chronic Pain patients are being left behind and forgotten in the rush to demonize opioid pain medicine, not because everyone can become addicted but because everyone doesn't know the facts.
If you know anyone of the 6.5 million people with chronic pain who have been forced to taper their pain medicine, been forced onto less effective and more expensive alternatives, or have been refused treatment, please watch and share this video.
Dr. Kline was on six months ago and he breaks down for us what has been going on since then, with pain patients, doctors and the law.
We talk about the religious like hysteria being created surrounding opioids and how the facts don't support the rampant fear.
He also explains what Fear of Addiction Phobia is all about and how it's the main driver of the wasteful and draconian edicts being pushed by the Medical and Media establishment.
People are suffering unnecessarily because of fear and ignorance. Dr. Kline is doing the Lord's work getting the facts out to people and pushing back against the insane, barbarous and unacceptable way the Media and Medical Establishment are punishing a population of people, whose only crime is that they are in intractable pain.

The Life and Adventures of Nat Love by Nat Love | Audio book with subtitles
The Life and Adventures of Nat Love
Nat LOVE
Nat Love was born a slave, emancipated into abject poverty, grew up riding the range as a cowboy and spent his maturity riding the rails as a Pullman Porter. For me, the most amazing thing about him is that despite the circumstances of his life, which included being owned like a farm animal solely because of the color of his skin and spending later decades living and working as an equal with white coworkers, he was an unrepentant racist! Convinced that the only good Indian was a dead one, and that all Mexicans were greasers and/or bums, he rarely passed up a chance to shoot a member of either group, whether in self-defense or cold blood, and shows no sign of having appreciated the difference. At one point, he fell in love with a Mexican girl but, apparently unable to tolerate this reality, considered her Spanish. Nat Love was a fascinating character who lived in equally interesting times, and one only wishes his autobiography was much longer and more detailed. summary by ohsostrange
