How to Pronounce 20 British Cities
Do you want to visit Britain? Then you will need to know how to pronounce the city names correctly.
Whether you are coming here as a tourist or a student, it's important to know how to say these 20 cities. I've chosen them because they are the biggest and most commonly visited.
Please remember that there are other ways to pronounce these names. I can only teach them in my accent which is a London accent.
I'd love to know which city you'd like to visit most. Let me know in the comments below.

10 People who Fell into Animal Enclosures at Zoos

Zoos are a place for the average person to see animals they might not ever get the chance to observe in the wild. Zoos also have the purpose of conserving certain species, trying to make sure they don't die out to extinction.. and in other cases they can be a sanctuary against poaching and hunters.
Levan Merritt 1986
As encounters with great apes go, Harambe wasn't the first incident of a child falling into a gorilla enclosure. It happened at the Durrell Wildlife Park in Jersey, Channel Islands in the UK, when Five year old Levan Merrit somehow fell into the zoo's gorilla enclosure, falling far enough that he lost consciousness when he hit the ground.
Beijing Zoo 2009
Pandas. They're endangered, and they're absolutely adorable. That cuteness draws in many crazy panda-fans for Gugu, a panda at the Beijing Zoo. People come from all over to see him, and more than a few have snuck into his enclosure.
Pittsburgh zoo, 2012
For all of these stories, a surprising number don't end with someone being killed, considering they're usually just feet from dangerous and unpredictable predators. But fatalities unfortunately do still happen sometimes, as was the case for two year old Maddox Derkosh.
Detroit Zoo, 1990
The Detroit zoo is a popular destination for many who wish to admire the wildlife of the world, and apparently also for those who like going where they shouldn’t be. This time though, the story has a happy ending, and the man had a good reason for jumping in. 33-year-old Rick Swope was enjoying his day at the Detroit zoo until he came across the chimpanzee exhibit.
Berlin Zoo, 2009
The case of the Berlin zoo polar bear attack incident in 2009 is both mysterious and sketchy, and not much is known right down to the name of the woman involved in this incident on our list.
Cleveland Metro parks Zoo, 2015
Once again, another case of a two-year-old boy being held on top of the protective railing and falling into an enclosure with several dangerous animals.
Santiago Metropolitan zoo
Suicide is never the answer. No matter what you might think, someone's going to be devastated by it, your community will be impacted, your loved ones will be at a loss without you and you'll be sorely missed by many.
Little Rock Zoo, 2015
A young child went to the Little Rock zoo with his father and grandfather for some fun, and multi generational bonding time.
Brookfield Zoo, 1996
Here we have a more feel-good story. A young child fell into the gorilla exhibit, and was set upon by a terrifying silverback female gorilla named Binti Jua.
Toronto Zoo, 2016
A visitor to the Toronto Zoo must have really like her hat, because she jumped down from the observation deck and right next to a flimsy fence that had a tiger behind it, in order to retrieve it. Amidst people yelling at her, calling her a moron, the woman leaped down and grabbed the hat while the tiger pounced on the fence separating them, desperately trying to get at her.

Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United | United Resist City Comeback | FA Cup Third Round 2011/12

Man City v Man Utd FA Cup
Manchester United survived a stirring fightback from Manchester City to win a thrilling FA Cup third-round derby at the Etihad Stadium.
The drama started before kick-off when United announced Paul Scholes was coming out of retirement to play until the end of the season and was named on the bench.
And it did not let up for a pulsating 90 minutes which threatened a United rout as they established a three-goal lead by half-time, but ended with Sir Alex Ferguson's side hanging on as City tried to complete the most unlikely comeback.
City were also fuelled by a burning sense of injustice after losing influential defender and captain Vincent Kompany to a contentious early red card from referee Chris Foy after a two-footed challenge on Nani.
United were already ahead courtesy of Wayne Rooney's header - and with City suffering a numerical disadvantage the visitors punished their neighbours in a style that, at one point, threatened complete revenge for their 6-1 thrashing at Old Trafford in October.
Danny Welbeck added a second before Rooney was on target again from a rebound after his penalty was saved by City's stand-in goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, who was in for the rested Joe Hart.
Roberto Mancini's side refused to capitulate in adversity, mounting a response that ultimately failed to rescue the game but did great credit to their resilience and determination.
Aleksandar Kolarov's free-kick reduced the deficit and, when Sergio Aguero took advantage of Anders Lindegaard's handling error with 25 minutes left, City had real hopes of forcing a replay.
United held on, but boss Ferguson was clearly unhappy with the carelessness demonstrated by his team that threatened to allow a comfortable situation and a place in the fourth round slip from their grasp.
Scholes was introduced just before the hour but, understandably, looked very short of match sharpness. He spread some trademark passes and had a low shot saved, but the 37-year-old also tired rapidly and gave the ball away for City's second goal.
When the rumoured return of Scholes became a reality he was afforded a rapturous reception from United's supporters as he came out to warm up.
And, after the visitors survived early pressure from City, their fans were celebrating again when Rooney soared to meet Antonio Valencia's cross and direct a fine header beyond Pantilimon via the underside of the bar.
Matters were made considerably worse for City two minutes later when Kompany was sent off for his challenge on Nani, which referee Foy deemed worthy of a red card despite the Belgian appearing to get the ball.
This twin setback left City unsettled and United took advantage to add two further goals and assume total control by the interval.
The game looked to have been pushed beyond City's reach when Rooney got his second when referee Foy correctly pointed to the spot following Kolarov's late tackle on Welbeck.
Rooney's spot-kick was saved by Pantilimon but rebounded kindly to allow the former Everton man to head home and leave City's players and supporters stunned.
And yet Mancini's men gathered themselves during the break to mount a stirring recovery.
Mancini made a double change, taking off David Silva and Adam Johnson for Stefan Savic and Pablo Zabaleta.
City were back in the game within three minutes of the restart as Kolarov sent a fine free-kick into the corner from 20 yards to offer hope of an unlikely comeback.
This was the signal for Ferguson to reintroduce Scholes in place of Nani - but he was to quickly play an undistinguished part as City further cut the arrears.
The veteran lost possession and when Lindegaard failed to hold Aguero's shot, the Argentine followed up to score with ease.
The momentum was with City and as the game entered its closing stages another ex-England player hit the comeback trail once more as Owen Hargreaves replaced the disappointing Nasri.
City had a penalty appeal turned down when Phil Jones handled, but United should also have been awarded a second spot-kick earlier when Kolarov fouled Valencia.
There was still time for Kolarov to sting Lindegaard's palms with a free-kick in the dying seconds, but the parried effort was cleared by some frantic United defending.
The final whistle brought a standing ovation from both sets of supporters - United's for the victory and a measure of revenge and City's for a show of strength from their side.

UK zoo evacuated amid serious incident
(29 May 2017) Visitors at an English zoo have been evacuated after police and an air ambulance were called to deal with an incident.
Cambridgeshire Police said Monday the force responded to a call indicating that a serious incident was in progress at Hamerton Zoo, 80 miles (130 kilometres) north of London.
Police said the public was not at risk and no animals had escaped but did not elaborate. The incident took place on a British holiday when children are off from school.
Witness Jeff Knott told Britain's Press Association the staff was very professional and the visitors departed the zoo in a very calm manner - no running, shouting or anything similar.
Police said more details would be made available later.

PNG KUMULS VS USA EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS (RLWC 2017)
Papua New Guinea posted their highest ever World Cup total, scoring at almost a point a minute in the opening half as their blistering attack terrorised the United State’s defence, busting through the line on 13 separate occasions.
Kumul’s second rower Rhyse Martin stared, as he slotted 10 from 11 conversions despite strong winds to ensure Papua New Guinea progress out of the group stages undefeated.
The win sets up a date with England for a place in the Quarter-Finals next week.
The win did come at cost for Papua New Guinea however, as Garry Lo was taken from the field early in the second half after injuring his ankle in a tackle.
With the wind at their back, USA kicked off to get the game underway and attempted to end the Papua New Guinean’s three game winning streak.
But after surviving an early onslaught from the Kumuls, the USA couldn’t hold them out for long as James Segeyaro put Lachlan Lam over for a try in his opening appearance for Papua New Guinea.
Segeyaro threw a dummy and broke through the Hawks line before drawing the fullback and offloading to Lam who pumped his fist in joy before putting the ball down and running in to celebrate with the crowd.
With the floodgates now open, Papua New Guinea started to apply the heat to the Americans who conceded two tries in two plays.
After a simple backline move, winger Justin Olam found himself with enough space on the flanks to crash over giving PNG a 10-0 lead in just 12 minutes.
The Kumuls then scored off the kick off when Moses Meninga made the initial line-break before offloading to James Segeyaro who streaked away to score under the posts.
PNG ran in three more tries before the half-time siren blew, including Lam’s second of the day as the USA headed into the sheds trailing 34-0.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, the Kumuls picked up where they left off in the first half taking only two minutes to find the try line.
Tries to Watson Boas, Nene Macdonald, and a hat-trick to Justin Olam, all inflated the Kumuls lead with Rhyse Martin having an exceptional day with the boot, slotting every conversion in the second half.
USA got close to points in the 73rd minute when fullback, Corey Makelim, looked certain to score before David Mead produced an amazing try-saving tackle to deny the USA of points.
The win means Papua New Guinea progress out of the group stages undefeated to face England next week.
As for the USA, their World Cup journey comes to an end as they will no doubt look forward to relaxing after PNG walked off the field triumphant, 64-0.
York England historic center
The city of York is England's finest example of a medieval town -- so well-preserved that it looks like you took a wrong turn somewhere back in 1335 and got stuck in time when you walk down these narrow lanes line with the ancient original buildings it's like walking through an outdoor museum but it's very much lively and functioning city.
So well-preserved that it's become one of the world’s most interesting historic cities with a rich mix of activities for the visitor.
This town is surrounded by its original medieval high stone walls that protected it from attackers in the past and since then it's protected the town from modernization because you'll find that the old historic area within these walls is looking like it's about 500 years old and many of the buildings in fact are older.
We’re showing highlights of our visit, the very best of York, one of the finest towns in the UK.

Britain's Illegal Rave Renaissance: LOCKED OFF
Rave Culture is one of Britain’s great cultural exports, but after its first wave in the late eighties and early nineties, it was soon forced into the underground by stringent new laws and superclubs. But forward 25 years into in the midst of a nationwide purge on the nation’s nightlife, where nearly half of all British clubs have shut down in the last decade, and a new kind of scene has emerged.
Clive Martin investigates this 21st century version of Rave, where young people break into disused spaces with the help of bolt-cutters and complicated squatting laws, to suck on balloons and go hard into the early morning.
But with the police using increasingly extreme tactics to clamp down on these parties, and more than one fatality causing nationwide media panic, can the scene survive?
