Holden Arboretum: The 5 best things to see here
The Holden Arboretum is one of the largest arboretums in the United States and should be included in the list of top things to do in Cleveland. This video will show you the Emergent Tower and Canopy Walk, which transformed the property and attracted national attention.

A Hike Amongst the Trees | Emergent Tower & Canopy Walk at Holden Aboretum | Kirtland, OH
Holden Arboretum, in Lake and Geauga Counties, is home of one of the largest botanical gardens in the US. A walk through the extraordinarily well-kept arboretum grounds allows one to observe a diverse range of native and exotic flora. There are also unpaved hiking trails that wind through the woods surrounding the garden areas.
The two most popular attractions in Holden Arboretum are the Kalberer Emergent Tower and the Murch Canopy Walk. The Emergent Tower is a 222 step climb up a 12 story structure that takes hikers above the tree canopy. The observation floor at the top of the tower offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding area, especially during the colorful fall season.
The Canopy Walk is a 500 foot long set of suspended bridges that run in a triangular pattern through the tree canopy, 65 feet above ground level. It provides hikers a unique view of the surrounding forest.
The day ended with a sunset on Breakwater Beach, in nearby Geneva State Park.
As of publication of this video, admission into Holden Arboretum is $10 for adults and $4 for children (4-18). Tickets for the Emergent Tower & Canopy Walk are an additional $4 for adults and $2 for children.

VIDEO: Roger Gettig Shows Us Around Holden Arboretum
Another video exclusive.
Roger Gettig is the guy you want to talk with about your plants, trees and landscaping. He started working at Holden Arboretum as an intern in 1988, left to attend college and returned in 1996 to work as landscape consultant, land conservation manager, and now as director of horticulture and conservation.
He's overseeing an ambition master plan, three years in the making, to transform the user experience at Holden Arboretum, including a new Visitors Center, a tree allee, an elevated 500-foot canopy walk, and an expanded Rhododendron Exploration Garden, with plans for international recognition on the scale of The Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Listen as Gettig talks about all the year-round delights at Holden and exactly what an arboretum is.
