Canterbury is a town built along the river Star Wars. Canterbury was once a tour to the city by boat. My name is George still, your tour guide and the engine. George rowing a small boat with an engine of ginseng have 10 people sitting in a little more than tourists look exciting. If you follow the small rivers flowing through the historic city of Canterbury landscape that sweeps down like panorama. This bridge is' Kings Bridge. 1500s you will see that the bottom is thus divided into two steps. The first was built in 1134 right in the central part we played our expansion in both its 1769 and. Here you see a beautiful building? This is the home of the old spinning ball. The house's history dates back to the mid-16th century. Textile industry had sex at the time was about to hire a third of the population of Canterbury in 20 years, calm flowing river, the landscape seems even the people living in the present. Canterbury is a small city but the university has four dogs. So the old city, but takes the always lively with young people. It seems the students made something interesting mechanism. Young punters George also served in our times interesting and entertaining humor travelers. This is exactly what my portion is broken the back of the head shape. The trip to the Canterbury George was postponed to the end of the finish.

Pilgrimage To Canterbury with Simon Reeve (Religious History Documentary) | Timeline
For centuries pilgrimage was one of the greatest adventures on earth, involving epic journeys across the country and around the world. This series sees Simon Reeve retrace the exciting adventures of our ancestors. He learns about the forgotten aspects of pilgrimage, including the vice, thrills and dangers that all awaited travellers. He explores the faith, the hopes, desires, and even the food that helped to keep medieval Britons and more recent travellers on the road.
Simon embarks on a 400 mile journey to Canterbury from the north of England, beginning at the mystical Holy Island, just off the coast of Northumberland. To reach the island, one of the earliest sites of Christian pilgrimage in Britain, Simon follows a line of posts marking out a crossing that emerges from the North Sea at low tide.

Walsingham Uk Holy Mile Procession!
This year thousands of catholics charismatics attending the New Dawn conference, walked the Walsingham Holy Mile, once walked by King Henry the Eighth.
Walsingham's fame is linked to an apparition by Blessed Virgin in the 11th.century to a local Lady asking her to build a replica of the Holy House of Nazareth.
Up until the reformation Walsingham was onme of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Europe.
England was once known as Mary's Dowry.
30th May 1381: Outbreak of the Peasants' Revolt in England
Although sparked by the introduction of a new poll tax, the roots of the Peasants’ Revolt lay in the dramatic social and economic upheaval that had emerged after the devastation of the Black Death. The plague had reached England in 1348 and soon wiped out up to half of the entire population. In the aftermath the surviving peasantry had demanded better wages and conditions, so grew increasingly angry at the government’s attempts to limit such changes.
This resentment was aggravated by the introduction of taxes to fund the English campaign against France in the Hundred Years’ War. Richard II was only ten years old when he inherited the throne in 1377 and his government forged ahead with the introduction of a new poll tax. By the time Parliament passed a third poll tax in 1380 the situation was incredibly volatile.
Many people, especially those in the south-east of the country, refused to pay. This prompted the government to begin investigating those who had not paid. John Bampton and his clerks were greeted by a crowd of villagers determined not to pay any further taxes and, after the officials attempted to arrest their leader, violence broke out.
The revolt quickly spread from Essex to Kent and beyond. Tax collectors and landlords were attacked, while tax records and registers were destroyed. By the time the crowds reached London in mid-June, Wat Tyler had emerged as leader of the Kentish rebels.
After rejecting a series of royal charters granted at Mile End the previous day, Tyler presented a comprehensive set of demands to Richard on 15th June at Smithfield. Tyler was later attacked and killed by members of the royal party, heralding the collapse of the revolt.

New Alresford or simply Alresford is a small town and civil parish in the City of Winchester district of Hampshire, England. It is 7.5 miles north-east of Winchester and 12 miles south-west of the town of Alton. In the 2001 census, Alresford had a population of around 6,000. New Alresford has independent shops, a tourist information centre, a central conservation area, four tea rooms, five pubs and is a terminus as with Alton of the Watercress Line, a steam worked heritage railway at Alresford railway station.
There is evidence of Neolithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age occupation on numerous sites in the Alresford area, with a Roman or Romano-British site on nearby Fobdown and to the south-east of the town in Bramdean. There is evidence of a grant to the Church at Winchester sometime before the 9th century, which became known as the Liberty of Alresford. Alresford was listed in the Domesday Book but this probably refers to what is now Old Alresford as there is no evidence of a settlement south of the river at this time. Old Alresford as with Farnham, Guildford, Dorking and Maidstone adjoins the Pilgrims' Way between Canterbury and Winchester.
New Alresford was founded in the 12th/13th century, the idea originally being that of Henri de Blois, the Bishop of Winchester and brother of King Stephen of England. The design of the T-shaped town (originally named Novum Forum) was followed by de Blois' successor Godfrey de Lucy. Alresford was one of the Bishop's six new towns and was his most profitable plantation—his palace was situated in nearby Bishop's Sutton, perhaps less than a mile distant. The medieval stone bridge he built at this time is still in place. This expansion also involved the construction of the Great Weir between New Alresford and Old Alresford, creating Old Alresford Pond.
New Alresford quickly became established as a prosperous market town, focussed on the wool, leather and the other products from sheep and cattle; in the 14th century Alresford sheep markets produced one of five highest turnovers in England. Alresford sent two members to parliament until the population was reduced by the Black Death. In the 17th century the town made news as a dangerous place to live due to the uncommonly frequent fires which razed it; in the spring of 1644, the Battle of Cheriton took place on Cheriton Down, reaching the outskirts of Alresford.
The town is crowned by its large T-shape main street conservation area. The town is an attractive art, rail and tourist destination, with its classical, dense two Georgian streets situated near Winchester and the South Downs National Park. Here are the Swan Hotel, Bell Hotel, Pink House Hotel, jewellers, wine merchants, butchers, flower shops, toy shop, dress shops, the Alresford Gallery, Candover Gallery and tea rooms. There are three other public houses, the larger being the Globe Inn by one of the stream channels and play area. Alresford is at the south-western end of the Watercress Line (officially the Mid-Hants Railway). This heritage railway line runs steam and diesel trains, and gains its name from the fact that it used to be the line that took watercress up to London.
Brandy Mount House holds the National Plant Collection of Snowdrops in their grounds. The gardens are open to the public during the season. Alresford holds a number of community events throughout the year. Several are organised by or with New Alresford Town Council (NATC). All events which are held in the main streets within the original town (Broad Street, East Street, West Street) require the permission of the New Alresford Town Trust (NATT – a registered charity which preserves the town's traditional rights of access, to fairs and to street markets, preserves old documents and buildings, and runs a community minibus). A fee for street usage is usually payable by organisers, which helps in the Trust's other works, including running the local minibus which serves the elderly and disabled. A number of events are organised by The Alresford Pigs Association, which raises money in the local area for those in need, by the local Rotary club (such as the annual 5 November Fireworks at Arlebury Park), and by the town council.

WALKING IN KENT | TROTTISCLIFFE
I was joined by Candice on this 4 mile walk in and around the picturesque Kent village of Trottiscliffe. It was mid afternoon and the sun was starting to set.
We left the village and climbed up onto the North Downs and followed a small section of the long distance route through a beautiful forest.
We descended the chalk ridge and crossed over the Pilgrims Way and continued downhill towards the prehistoric site of Coldrum Stones, a neolithic chambered tomb, part of the Medway Megaliths.
By now it was dark, so we headed to the parish church (sadly it was locked) and back into the village and the pub for a cheeky cider!

Marlow is a town and civil parish within Wycombe district in south Buckinghamshire, England. Marlow is located on the River Thames, 4 miles south-southwest of High Wycombe, 5 miles west-northwest of Maidenhead and 33 miles west of central London.
From Norman times the manor, parish, and later borough were formally known as Great Marlow, distinguishing them from Little Marlow. The ancient parish was large, including rural areas north and west of the town. In 1896 the civil parish of Great Marlow, created in the 19th century from the ancient parish, was divided into Great Marlow Urban District (the town) and Great Marlow civil parish (the rural areas). In 1897 the urban district was renamed Marlow Urban District, and the town has been known simply as Marlow.
Marlow owed its importance to its location on the River Thames, where the road from Reading to High Wycombe crosses the river. It had its own market by 1227 (hence the name Chipping Marlow), although the market lapsed before 1600. From 1301 to 1307 the town had its own Member of Parliament, and it returned two members from 1624 to 1867.
Marlow is adjoined by Marlow Bottom, a mile to the north. Little Marlow is nearby to the east along the A4155 Little Marlow Road and Bourne End is further along the same road. To the south across the Thames are Bisham (home of Bisham Abbey) and Cookham Dean, both in Berkshire.
There has been a bridge over the Thames at Marlow since the reign of King Edward III The current bridge is a suspension bridge, designed by William Tierney Clark in 1832, and was a prototype for the much larger Széchenyi Chain Bridge across the River Danube in Budapest. The Hand & Flowers, the first gastropub to hold two Michelin stars, is located on West Street. Marlow is the location of Marlow Lock, originating from the 14th century.
The A4155 road runs through Marlow town centre, with the A404 lying one mile to the east, the M40 motorway further to the north, and the M4 motorway to the south. Marlow is served by a railway station which is the terminus of a single-track branch line from Maidenhead. The train service is known as the Marlow Donkey, which was the nickname given to the steam locomotives that once operated on the line. There is also a pub with the same name, located close to the railway station.
