Flashback II - The Lacehouse - Nottingham
Flashback is a series of events organised to present vintage fashion shows accompanied by live music, dancing and offering attendees the chance to discover vintage items from designers and boutiques' stalls.
'' I originally come from France where there are many independent shops and boutiques. Being passionate about the individuality of fashion I had the idea of linking local boutiques, talented vintage artists, vintage designers, musicians and hand crafters. '' (Clementine Paro, 2014)
These events aim to promote local businesses and talented artists such as designers, musicians and dancers as well as creating business network opportunities between participants and attendees and entertain the local community.
For further information on these events, please contact Clementine Paro at flashback.cp@gmail.com

Hopkinson Gallery - Mercury & Electric Shocks
Hopkinson Gallery, in collaboration with The Creative Quarter company and Nottingham City Council, is proud to present a unique show 'Mercury & Electric Shocks', as part of the 'Seen This?' project, two new exhibitions which the Nottingham public can look forward to over the next three months.
Featuring neon-based works by Franko B. Stefan Bruggeman, Tracey Emin, Gilbert & George, Sarah Lucas, Kerry Ryan and Gavin Turk.
'Mercury & Electric Shocks' is an exclusive collection of remarkable neon artworks by acclaimed artists, to be shown at Hopkinson Gallery. What makes this exhibition extraordinary is that these works have been in private collections and have never before seen together by the public outside London.
Curated by Andy Collishaw (Independent) and Izzy Watts (who manages Hopkinson Gallery), this exhibition features the cream of British and international contemporary artists, who are bringing their work to Nottingham which opened for the city's Light Night event on Friday 28 February.
See the BBC East Midlands feature of this show here...
The exhibition is being funded by The Arts Council and supported by The Creative Quarter Company, who are working closely with Hopkinson Gallery and the Curators to bring the exhibition to Nottingham audiences. How does this exhibition fit with the work of The Creative Quarter Company? Nick Mc Donald, Portfolio Holder for Growth for the city believes this kind of activity is central to what the Creative Quarter Initiative is all about:
This is fantastic news. The Hopkinson Gallery is a real asset for Nottingham & the Creative Quarter, and securing this funding allows it to continue to put on leading exhibitions like this.
