Lady's Well & Dove Crag circular, North Northumberland ©
This 5.5 mile (8.8km) moderate circular walk starts from Holystone car park and heads north up the forest path for a short way to a signpost for Lady's Well on the right. From here you walk across a field to the fenced enclosure which surrounds the well which still supplies water for the village of Holystone. St Paulinus is supposed to have baptised about 3,000 Northumbrians in the waters here in AD 627. From here the route goes north west and then west through the recently felled plantation before turning south west to the rocky grotto of Dove Crag which is supposed to be the home of the fairies. At it's centre there is a thin straight waterfall cascading into the grotto. You then head southeast to join a large forest track a short way to a junction with a smaller path heading south on the right. This heads down through the woods and follows Holystone burn back to your starting point.
Wherever you go stay safe, check the weather, plan ahead, let people know where you are going, take maps & compass with your gps and follow the countryside code.

Hidden Northumberland.
Part 1 of a occasional series of Northumberlands hidden places. I headed to Holystone in the foothills of The Cheviots. Started with a visit to The Lady Well, then onto Dove Crag , a hidden grotto deep in the forest.

Olympia WA Mud Hunt #1 - A Walking Tour of Olympia's Historic Capitol Campus, Annotated
November 30 2019
Olympia Washington was fun to explore with my Tartarian HD Vision ;)
NOTE: I make no claims to have proof of an alternate timeline, stolen history, or divergent narrative from that we learned in school. I am simply enjoying re examining history- a topic I have always loved, in a new light, that of the Mud Flood and Grand Tartarian Civilization Reset point of view. It gives me a reason to get out and look around, and I hope you enjoy coming along for the ride!
Olympia WA was settled in 1855, just one year after Steilacoom WA, the oldest white settlement in the region. Both small towns as well as many that followed, were built on land granted from the native Salish Coastal Tribes of the region, who had inhabited, cultivated, and developed the region there for many generations.
In this video we visit the exterior of several historic sites. The Capitol Building does conduct tours for free, although time did not permit us doing so on this day- I plan to return soon for one or more buildings interior tours as we know there is a very impressive Tiffany Lamp collection in the Legislative Building as well as a museum that is housed in one of WA State's oldest wood structures still standing (closed during our visit).

I refer to what i thought may have been a Female Pheasant. I wasn't sure at the time or after but thankfully here is the correction by David: (Its a Red-legged Partridge introduced to the British countryside from Europe as a game bird.) - David

Shill Moor, Northumberland (20th February 2018)
20th February 2018
A break in the weather gave a rare blue sky opportunity to visit the Cheviots where the forecast was slightly better than the Pennines.
So I took the chance to try and bag another couple of Northumbrian Deweys but only had enough time to bag the one.
I came off the hill a slightly different way and thought there was a permissible path to Linhope Spout, only it wasn't permissible. I ended up having to trespass through someone's garden (again) in order to get onto a proper right of way... or face walking back up the hill and following the tarmac road.
As I was now quite close to Linhope Spout, I made the slight detour to visit it once more.
Overall a nice day for some quiet contemplation alone in the hills.
For those curious about the crows... the gamekeepers catch them in order to control their numbers because they eat the eggs of other birds (aka pheasant and grouse eggs).
