Motorway Lane Rule - Motorway Middle-Lane Hoggers - What is Lane Hogging/Driving Lesson!
Motorway Lane Rule - Motorway Middle-Lane Hoggers. This video explaines the Motorway lane dicipline and the middle lane hogging.
Many people drive on the motorway in the middle lane hogging without knowing that left lane is actually the driving lane and this video should help those drivers reminding them that the left lane is actually the driving lane on the motorways. Also many are ignoring and do not know that there is a new law for middle lane hogging - fine on the spot and also penalty points on license, which is mentioned as a reminder on the video.
On The Highway Code - part 264 it said: You should always drive in the left-hand lane when the road ahead is clear. If you are overtaking a number of slower-moving vehicles, you should return to the left-hand lane as soon as you are safely past. Slow-moving or speed-restricted vehicles should always remain in the left-hand lane of the carriageway unless overtaking. You MUST NOT drive on the hard shoulder except in an emergency or if directed to do so by the police, HA traffic officers in uniform or by signs.
So as we can see above IT IS THE LAW TO DRIVE ON THE LEFT-HAND LANE ON THE MOTORWAY, and this is covered on the video and this is the reason why this video was created.

Bus Lane, Bus Stop and Cycle Lane are explained in this video.

Bus Stop: Bus stops are for buses to stop for pick up and drop off passengers. Other road users can drive on bus stops if free from buses and safe to do so.
Cycle Lane: Cycle lanes are for cyclists and it should not be used by other drivers unless if it’s needed and it’s safe to do so, and then return back to normal driving lane as soon as possible.

I appealed my case to the adjudicator and his full reply is below saying that there are bus lane signs before and after the car park entrance. But what he seemingly did not not take into account, (as I show in this video), is that I entered the car park from the North where there is no bus lane.
Therefore, leaving the car park 8 hours later, I unknowingly entered a bus lane. There are no signs saying there's a bus lane OR what it's operating times are when exiting the car park! The council have cleverly taken advantage of this loophole and installed a money making camera to capture unsuspecting motorists in a bus lane where there are no legal rules for signs when leaving a private exit.
Maybe it's time to amend the rules if you think this is unfair.

Adjudicator’s Reasons
The issue here is the markings and signs for this bus lane. The Appellant who emerged from a Novotel hotel car park directly into the bus lane says there were no signs, bus lane legends or red tarmac visible where he entered it from the car park.
The parties have filed various photographs and sketches and the Appellent complains that the Enforcement Authority’s photographs are out of date. Accordingly, I have looked at google street view photographs taken this year. Whilst I agree with the Appellant that the tarmac is not red, there is no legal requirement for red tarmac. There is such a requirement for a thick white line which is there; in addition, there must be signs and bus lane legends at the start of the particular section of the bus lane and at intervals; these all appear to be place, before and after the Novotel car park. There is no requirement for the Enforcement Authority to place signs in the private car park warning of a bus lane and in fact they would have no legal right to do so. The Appellant must have accessed the Novotel car park across th bus lane and would have passed the signs and legends as he drove along the Lambeth Road towards the hotel.
I am satisfied that this bus lane was compliantly and adequately signed and marked.

This video explains what is spiral roundabout and then shows in practice how to deal with these spiral roundabouts in the road.
The difference between a normal roundabout and a Spiral roundabout is that the spiral roundabouts are busy so there are more than 2 lanes to cope with the volume of traffic.
Now, because there more than 2 lanes it’s difficult to know which lane to take and this is why the spiral roundabout comes in.
They are fully guided with road markings for every driver to their exit.
Remember to choose the lane you need by looking for your exit on the road markings and stay on your lane until you complete to leave the roundabout.
You should keep to the left lane if you intend to go left or straight on and keep to the right lane if you intend to turn right.
Always keep an eye and keep checking in front of you in case markings direct you to another lane.
As you enter the roundabout keep to your lane and keep your speed low in 2nd gear. Focus on staying in your lane and it will take you to the correct exit. Remember to check your centre mirror and left mirror and signal left as you pass the exit before yours. This will help alert other drivers of your intention.

England Roundabout - 4 lane entries
This roundabout is located near Stoke on Trent (video reversed), England at an interchange between and freeway and a divided arterial. It is a large two-bridge roundabout that carries approximately 6000 crs per hour with four lane entries. Note the platooning effect of entering traffic, particularly in the shadow of the larger trucks. In the U.S. this roundabout would be crash prone because drivers would ne know when to yield, especially with the flat entry angles.

Multi lane Roundabouts, Choosing lanes Driving Lesson, Think Driving School Filmed in Farnborough
Learn how to do use Large Multi-Lane Roundabouts.
In this short video we try and make Large Multi-Lane Roundabouts as simple as possible. Although the thought of large Multi-Lane Roundabouts seems scary. In a lot of cases they are very well laid out with signs and road marking. So, if you understand what to look for and what they mean. They can become much easier than you first thought.
With any junction, don’t be afraid of going the wrong way. You can always turn around and get back on course later. So, if for example you find yourself in a left only lane on the approach to a Large Multi-Lane Roundabout, but you want to go straight ahead but don’t feel like you have time or its not safe to change lanes. Just go left safely and then turn around later when it is safe. Even on a driving test it does not matter if you go the wrong way if what you do is safe.
This video was filmed using roundabouts in the area of Farnborough Driving Test Centre in Hampshire

Avoid getting in Wrong Lane | DTC UK | Driving Test UK
In this video, Shak will be talking about how to avoid getting in the wrong lane, and if you do find yourself in the wrong lane how best to deal with it.
In the very beginning of the driving test, examiner will ask you to follow the road ahead unless road signs and road markings indicate otherwise or unless he was she ask you to do so.
Our normal driving position is on the left. Therefore, we would usually take the left hand lane for following the road ahead.
However, occasionally the left-hand lane is marked for left turn only. It may seem obvious, but you need to bear in mind that the road markings are on the road itself. Therefore, it is vital that you keep a distance from the driver in front. This will allow you to see the markings on the road.
If you were to drive a bumper-to-bumper it’s going to be impossible to see the road markings. The road markings are usually enforced by a road sign indicating that the left lane is for left turn only.
Let’s assume for a moment, that due to test nerves, you did not see the board indicating that the left-hand lane is the left turn only. Also, let us assume that you did not even see the left arrow on the road. Furthermore, let's assumes that you did not notice that traffic lights are marking turn left only.
So, you have got in the wrong lane. No point in panicking as you are already in the wrong lane. If you went straight on in that particular lane, the driving examiner will have no choice but to fail you.
In fact, it’s a driving offence to go straight on in a lane that is marked left turn only. You could end up with getting three penalty points when your driving licence.
However, if you check your mirrors, signalled left and then turned left, the examiner will not fail you. It will not even get a minor fault for it. The examiner may take you all the way around and bring you back the same spot, therefore, extending the time of your driving test by a few minutes. Nevertheless, it is not a fail.
Remember, prevention is better than cure. So, watch out for the road signs and the road markings. Good Luck with your driving test.

Wrong Lane in Driving Test!
Wrong Lane in Driving Test!
You should drive in left lane always. This is the primary principal when it comes to driving in the UK, unless the left lane is not going straight. So, if the left lane is only going left and you missed the road markings and ended up on the left lane realising just before the turning – what do you do?
Learn to Drive Online Course
All your lessons in one place
COMING SOON
Should you go straight from this left lane which only goes lane?
You as a learner on the driving test must show the safety in the test more than the skills. Wrong lane driving can lead to an accident.
Imagine you’re in the wrong lane on a roundabout?
So, what do you do if you do end up in the wrong?
First thing you should try is to try to correct and change to the correct lane. But if you’re too close to a turning and you realise that you’re on the wrong lane, in that case check the mirrors and signal and go the way the road is leading. If that means you’re going toward a different direction to the one the examiner gave – that’s okay. The examiner will find you another direction and you won’t fail your test because of it.
Driving safely on a wrong direction is better than going straight from the wrong lane.
