This is The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles California
The Last Bookstore is a bibliophile's adventure in waiting. Located in downtown Los Angeles, this used bookstore is more than what it seems on the surface. Although it is almost interesting enough that this used bookstore is housed inside of an old bank, and they keep some books inside of bank vaults, there's more than meets the eye.
On the second floor you can wander around a Labyrinth made of bookcases and explore strange pop art installations and architecture made from old books. It is a great place to take some photos or selfies, and it's one of LA's few FREE things to do (sans the local parking costs).

The Last Bookstore is an independent bookstore located at 453 S Spring Street, Downtown Los Angeles. Conde Nast Traveler called it California’s largest new and used bookstore.
The store was founded in 2005 by Josh Spencer. The first incarnation was a downtown Los Angeles loft. They sold books and other things online only, then focused on books, opened a small bookstore in December 2009 on 4th and Main streets. They moved to the current incarnation in the Spring Arts Tower at 5th and Spring streets on June 3, 2011. The store is 22,000 square feet. The current store is in a former bank with books on two levels, including the former vault.
Vox reported that the store creates visual merchandising through creative displays, which attracts Instagram users, in the hope of trying to convert Instagram visitors into book purchasers.

While traveling through downtown LA, I accidently stumbled upon the coolest bookstore I've ever seen: The Last Bookstore. The shop feels less like a bookstore and more like an art museum.

The Last Bookstore in Downtown Los Angeles - Our Subway Journey
See our visit to historic downtown Los Angeles on the North Hollywood Metro Subway Station to The Last Bookstore. Check out the video at
Traveling on the Metro Red Line is one of the only ways to get around Los Angeles completely underground. We started off at the North Hollywood station. My card was current but Neek needed to get hers replaced. While we were waiting for the train to arrive, we checked out the tableaux tribute to Nudie Cohen, who used to have a famous store nearby on Lankershim Boulevard where he sold western clothing. Then the train arrived and about twenty minutes later we reached our destination, Pershing Square station.
Just a couple blocks from the station, we walked into The Last Bookstore. What an amazing place! 22,000 square feet filled with books, vinyl records and awesome art! I was looking for a rare book so we began our search at the Rare Book Annex on the first floor. There were no political books there, which was the subject matter of the book I was looking for, but it was fun checking out the dazzling display of paintings and coffee table books there (the David Bowie one was particularly impressive to me!) and sharing the space with so many other people happy to be there.
Upstairs was also a really cool experience. There is a literal labyrinth and tunnel of books to walk through. There is an entire room of books upstairs, the horror vault, which used to be a bank vault. There were even books on politics and conspiracies featured too. Even if you can’t find the exact book you’re looking for, with over 250,000 new and used books on sale in such a beautifully arranged space, The Last Bookstore is a place I wouldn’t mind getting lost in any day!
