MEET THE MAKER | The Local Harvest Market
MEET THE MAKER | Meet Dan and Helen Oostenbrink – founders of The Local Harvest Market, and Makers of Food.
People travel from all over the lower mainland to purchase their food as they are some of the most pure, nutrient rich, healing fruits and vegetables that money can buy. They’ve seen customers come through with cancer and other diseases who rely heavily on their products. These customers have confidence in the quality of food that Local Harvest provides and are appreciative for the healing and nourishing affects of the food on their body.

GO ORGANIC IN VANCOUVER - FARMER'S MARKETS AND GRANVILLE ISLAND
What's more Canadian than going to the Farmer's Market on a Saturday to buy local organic food straight from the source with your dog and kids? Throw in some maple syrup and hockey and you got the whole country in a nutshell.
My good friend Michael took me to his local market and then we went with Christina to the famous Granville Island. Both were cute and fresh and expensive. Welcome to Canada!

Wiebe Family | Buy Local. Eat Natural.
A third generation dairy farmer from the Fraser Valley, Jeremy Wiebe grew up on Rosedale Farms and has been farming full-time for the past seventeen years.
Even though dairy farming is a 365-day per year job, Jeremy enjoys the flexibility that it provides for his wife and three children. After milking the cows in the morning, I can come in and have breakfast with my family or stop at my kids' school to watch them run a race.
Jeremy is proud to be producing milk in Canada. He says, Our milk is free of antibiotics and growth hormones. It's pure and safe.

008--Inside Farmers Market
Thecottage of Grace visit's her local Farmers Market. I really feel like this an event that families should support. Buying fresh organic produce from local farmers and the Amish community gives back to them. Its no more expensive than buying from your local super center or grocery store. Plus, its organic. Everyone always posts no pesticide labels etc. I'd rather give my $$ to the actual farming community than to the grocery stores. Plus when you go, you can meet up with friends like I did (by accident) you can buy flowers, hand made jewelry, things made for your pets. Its a very fun, entertaining venue to go to and support.
Taves Family Farms in the Spring
A family owned and operated farm attraction located in the Fraser Valley, Taves Family Farms-home of the Applebarn and Pumpkin Farm is celebrating its 22th anniversary this year. Over two decades ago, we opened our doors and have loved welcoming people to our farm ever since.
Our activity list includes U-Pick apples, a Pumpkin Patch, the Country Store and Cider Mill, a Beehive Observatory, hayrides, a pumpkin cannon, corn gun, a bouncy barn, massive jumping pillow, ponyrides, bunny town, a petting zoo, a tractor trail, zipline and hayrides and more. New this year is the expanded Corn Quest Maze-it's a Corn Maze with a quest complete with firepits and tents.
We also sell our own farmfresh veggies and fruit, participate in several farm markets and embrace supporting local initiatives.

Blueberry Picking near Vancouver-Krause Berry Farms-Langley BC
Watch one of the great places for blueberry picking near Vancouver. It's Krause Berry Farms in Langley, BC.
In this video you'll see the blueberry field both from afar and you'll get a very close up look at the blueberry bushes with the blueberry fruit on them. You'll see the blueberries ready to be picked that are already ripe and also the ones that are still green.
You can watch the farm buildings and a row of old wagons which have tables and chairs under their canopy where people can sit and order food and drinks.
This video also shows you the containers full of blueberries that we had just picked in one hour. It turned out to be exactly 4 pounds. On August 08, 2013 when we picked them they were charging $1.75 per pound. So we picked $7 worth of blueberries into our 3 containers and an unspecified amount of blueberries into our mouths.
There's nothing like picking blueberries and eating fresh, freshly picked blueberries.
If you'd like to see extensive blueberry fields south of Vancouver, you can watch my earlier video showing them at the link below:
Enjoy.
