Places to see in ( Bradford on Avon - UK )
Places to see in ( Bradford on Avon - UK )
Bradford on Avon is a town and civil parish in west Wiltshire, England. Bradford on Avon canal, historic buildings, shops, pubs and restaurants make it popular with tourists. The history of the town can be traced back to Roman origins. Bradford on Avon has several buildings dating from the 17th century, when the town grew due to the thriving English woollen textile industry.
Bradford on Avon lies partly on the Avon Valley, and partly on the hill that marks the Vale's western edge, eight miles southeast of Bath, in the hilly countryside between the Mendip Hills, Salisbury Plain and the Cotswold Hills. The local area around Bath provides the Jurassic limestone (Bath Stone) from which the older buildings are constructed. The River Avon (the Bristol Avon) runs through the town. Bradford on Avon directly borders Trowbridge to the south east. Bradford on Avon includes the suburbs of Bearfield and Woolley; the parish includes the hamlets of Widbrook and Woolley Green.
Bradford on Avon has been the headquarters of Avon Rubber, a large manufacturer of rubber products for the automotive and other industries. Bradford-on-Avon lies on the A363 Trowbridge to Bath road, which runs through the town from south to north, and crossed over by the B3109 linking Bradford-on-Avon with Melksham and Frome.
Bradford-on-Avon railway station lies on what is now the Bristol—Weymouth railway line. It opened in the mid-19th century and was built by the original (pre-grouping) Great Western Railway. Running parallel to the railway through the town is the Kennet and Avon Canal and Bradford Lock. The use of this canal declined as the railways grew but it was restored to full working order during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
( Bradford on Avon - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Bradford on Avon . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Bradford on Avon - UK

Dramatic arrest of shoplifters as they try to escape from store in Canada
A 29-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man wrestled a police officer to the ground in an attempt to escape arrest at a convenience store in Spruce Grove in Canada. While the officer struggled to arrest the man, the woman ran into the store's back room and scaled a ladder. She then clambered into the space above the ceiling tiles. As more officers arrived, the woman crashed through the ceiling onto a row of metal shelving in the store. She and her partner were arrested without further incident

Belonging and Public Space—Racism and the Right to the City | #OBConf2019
This breakout session explores how othering and belonging is spatialized across local and national contexts in order to influence how racialized groups access common spaces, such as places of work, educational institutions, housing, and other shared public space. The panel draws on case studies in racial geography to highlight the factors that shape various spaces either reproduce or resist messages of racial discrimination, marginalization, and exclusion. Themes include: connecting race and place, racial segregation and displacement, the inclusionary and exclusionary politics of spatial mobility, and strategies for cultivating inclusive local spaces around the world.
Speakers include: Rhonda Itaoui, Kevin Dunn, Omar Salha, Lara Kiswani, and Roberto Zurbano.

How to replace a cockspur window handle on a uPVC window
Window and Door Parts Ireland - How to replace a cockspur handle on an old uPVC window
Another great instructional video brought to you by
In this video I’m going to show you how to replace a cockspur handle on an old uPVC window
Cockspur window handles are usually found on aluminium and old uPVC windows. The spur on the handle closes down over a plastic wedge on the window frame to close and lock the window. Cockspur window handles come in a number of heights. The height is measured from the underside of the spur to the bottom of the base of the handle. 21mm, 17mm & 13mm are usually found on old uPVC windows and 9mm are found on aluminium windows.
The cockspur window handle in this video is an adjustable cockspur window handle. The height of the spur can be adjusted using plastic wedges and screws that come with the handle. Without a wedge the height is 21mm, with the smallest wedge it measures 17mm, the middle size wedge it measures 13mm and with the biggest wedge it measures 9mm.
So we can see here there isn’t much left of the old cockspur window handle. The reason the handle broke on this window is because the hinges are broken. When the hinges are strained or broken they do not move freely as they should. This in turn takes extra force to open and close the window, and all the extra force is put on the window handle which causes it to break. The hinges on this window will need to be replaced. Check out our video on how to replace the hinges on a uPVC window (
Now in this case the required height is 21mm so we don’t need the wedges that come with the handle.
• Start off by removing the screws holding the old handle.
• Use a Stanley knife or sharp chisel to remove any burrs from the old screw holes. The burrs can stop the handle from sitting flush against the sash.
• Line the handle up over the plastic wedge.
• Important – Reuse the existing screws and the existing holes. In a lot of these old uPVC windows, the glazing is situated directly behind the window handle. Using longer screws will break the glass. If you need to use new screws, use screws the same length. If in any doubt of the position of screws, I would definitely recommend removing the glazing before fitting the new handle. You have been warned.
• Screw the first screw into place, then line up the other holes and screw in the remaining screws.
• Test the operation of the handle and then to finish the job fit the screw cover cap.

CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Coraline (Dakota Fanning) meets her Other Parents and notices something very striking about them.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A young girl walks through a secret door and discovers a parallel reality that is eerily similar to the life she already knows, yet deeply unsettling in a number of ways, in director Henry Selick's animated adaptation of Neil Gaiman's international best-seller. Eleven-year-old Coraline Jones (voice of Dakota Fanning) is fearlessly courageous, and perhaps far too adventurous for her own good. Coraline and her parents (Teri Hatcher and John Hodgman) have recently relocated to Oregon from Michigan. Bored in her new home since her parents are distracted by work and she has yet to make any new friends, Coraline passes the time by exploring her new neighborhood with an annoying local boy named Wybie Lovat (Robert Bailey Jr.). But after paying a visit to her eccentric neighbors Miss Spink (Jennifer Saunders) and Miss Forcible (Dawn French), a pair of aging British actresses, and crossing paths with the outright weird Mr. Bobinsky (Ian McShane), the precocious young girl becomes convinced that her new surroundings are just as dull as she'd initially suspected. Shortly thereafter, Coraline discovers a hidden door in her new house, and decides to investigate. Venturing into the eerie passageway inside, Coraline emerges into an alternate version of her own reality. At first glance, this strange new world seems even better than the real thing; there her parents aren't distracted by work, and Coraline is always the center of attention. There's even a mysterious Cat (Keith David) that's fascinated by her every move. But when Coraline's button-eyed Other Mother (also Hatcher) attempts to make her stay permanent, the frightened young girl must summon her resourcefulness and bravery in order to find her way back home and save her real family.
