To the north you can see the town of Fort Frances and the Shevlin woodyards and the Sportsplex with arenas. Off to the west you can see international Falls Minnesota and the local paper mills

Fort Frances - Sand Bagging 2014

On June 20, 2014, Teams across Fort Frances, ON were helping in sand bagging efforts to keep the rising waters from damaging more homes and businesses across the water front. Many people from across the Rainy River District have come to lend a helping hand, including some of the cast members from Discovery Channel's Fool's Gold.

Several days ago, emergency crews pulled up the disintegrating Government Dock at the Point Park and its remains now lie next to the Rendez-Vous Hotel.

As the relief efforts continue in Fort Frances, International Falls is gaining assistance from the National Guard, thanks to Minnesota Governor, Mark Dayton.

Sand bags are being deployed across the Borderland in hopes of keeping the rising waters at bay.
