Sarge
at The Lyric Theatre Jan 23, 2016 7:00 pm
An accomplished vocalist, witty comedian, and talented pianist, there isn’t much Sarge can’t do. Combining his musical talents with his knack for comedy, the Florida native has been featured prominently on major television networks including HBO and Comedy Central. Always a favorite at The Lyric Theatre, Sarge is back again this season for another night of unforgettable hilarity.
The son of a Jewish mother and black father, Sarge was born in Florida. Shortly after he was born, Sarge was put up for adoption, eventually being taken in and raised by a couple in Long Island, New York. A natural at the piano from a young age, Sarge developed a passion for music in his early childhood. However, growing up, the entertainer struggled with drug abuse and homelessness, eventually finding peace in 1990 and quitting his addiction cold turkey. Invigorated by his recovery and hoping to share his story, Sarge decided to spend his life devoted to helping others struggling with addiction. This period in his life was critical in leading him towards comedy, as he learned to cope with difficult situations through laughter.
Now, a successful comedian, Sarge has headlined at some of the biggest venues in the United States, including the Radio City Music Hall. Throughout his career, the comedian has opened for major recording artists such as Aretha Franklin and The Beach Boys, combining his musical and comedic talents to create a show with a little bit of something for everybody. A multi-talented singer, musician, and comedian, Sarge is not to be missed, so be sure to see Sarge this season at The Lyric Theatre.

Sauce Boss
at The Lyric Theatre Mar 5, 2015 7:00 pm
Come with an empty stomach and a hankering for the blues and the Sauce Boss will deliver. The one-man band and Florida legend is back again at The Lyric Theatre for a night of swamp-style slide guitar and local storytelling. On his ’53 Telecaster and 1948 Fender amp, the Sauce Boss will perform some of his most famous hits, including “Great Big Fanny” and “Let the Big Dog Eat,” while cooking up a big pot of his world-famous gumbo. Featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and The Food Network’s Extreme Cuisine, the Sauce Boss is taking on the world one mouth and two ears at a time.
The Sauce Boss has always had a love for music. The Orlando native started performing at the age of 14, playing in nightclubs and coffeehouses by the age of 17. But it wasn’t until one day in the 1970’s when he woke up one morning to find a 1933 National Steel guitar in his front yard that he really began to devote himself completely to the blues. The Sauce Boss began to draw international attention after the success of his release “Let the Big Dog Eat,” which was featured in the 1986 Jonathan Demme film Something Wild.
Since then, the Sauce Boss has become famous for more than just his musical talent. The Sauce Boss developed his signature performing style over the years, which he maintains to this day, incorporating his crowd-rousing blues music with a very different kind of skill: cooking. In every performance, the Sauce Boss cooks a mean pot of spicy gumbo for his audience onstage all while playing some good, old-fashioned blues. The Sauce Boss gained the recognition of Jimmy Buffet and Parrotheads everywhere with the release of Buffet’s 1999 hit, “I Will Play for Gumbo,” which references the Sauce Boss’ distinctive performance style. His unique mix of music and food has been featured in a number of major television shows, radio programs, and magazines, including notably Living Blues, GQ, and Gourmet Magazine.
When he’s not performing for sold-out audiences across the country, the Sauce Boss is giving back to the community. The Sauce Boss has cooked for over 190,000 people for free throughout the United States while playing his homegrown, blues-inspired set. In 2003, the Sauce Boss created the non-profit foundation “Planet Gumbo,” through which he donates performances and delicious gumbo to homeless shelters around the country. This year, the Sauce Boss returns to his Florida roots at The Lyric Theatre. As always, expect a tasty meal and a savory blues performance from the Sauce Boss.

Ah, hah! This presentation is purely for self-indulgence!! The upcoming video's A fun-filled end of work week sign along with Paul, (minus Brad.) Rogers & Hammerstein songs are featured. l will accompany the singing with synopses leading up to situation calling for a song answer. If this is your cup of tea here it is!! Over an hour's worth of pretty bad singing (but my heart IS in it!)
Thank you, my faithful (and gracious) YouTube audience! I really needed this music therapy today more than usual. You all have healed my spirit; now if you could only do that to my untalented voice pipes! Ahhh, what the Hell...On with the show!
Boy, after this, I really need to thank you for these wonderful subscriptions. I assure you that this unrequited urge to bent out the tunes doesn't hit me all that often (you nod thankfully!) Please don't cancel your subscriptions...I assure you that IT DOES GET BETTER! (Just like in all of our less than middle-of-the-road lives!)
Thanks for everything, guys! Christmas of 2018...WILL SOON BE HERE! Mahalo and Aloha!

Pet Sematary remake to world premiere at 2019 SXSW Film Festival
Pet Sematary remake to world premiere at 2019 SXSW Film Festival:
Thanks for watching, subscribe for more videos:
Jason Clarke’s upcoming movie adaptation of the horror novel Pet Sematary will resurrect the Stephen King classic for the first time at the 2019 South by Southwest Film Festival. SXSW announced Wednesday the film — the second cinematic take on King’s 1983 book following Marc Lambert’s 1989 page-to-screen version — will hold its world premiere screening as the 2019 edition’s closing night selection. Directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clark) who relocates his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two children from Boston to rural Maine, where he discovers a mysterious an ominous cemetary for animals tucked away deep in the forest near his new home. After tragedy unexpectedly strikes shortly after the relocation, Louis looks to his neighbor Jud (John Lithgow) for guidance, which sets off a chain of horrific events tied to the titular burial ground. The Austin-based festival also announced new additions to its Midnighters, Festival Favorites, Shorts, Episodic Pilots, and Virtual Cinema Projects programs, including 129 overall feature films and 100 total world premieres. Films joining the festival in these programs include Helen Hunt’s I See You, Eddie Izzard’s Boyz in the Wood, and Lupita Nyong’o’s zombie flick Little Monsters also starring Josh Gad. Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
John Milton Hay (October 8, 1838 – July 1, 1905) was an American statesman and official whose career in government stretched over almost half a century. Beginning as a private secretary and assistant to Abraham Lincoln, Hay's highest office was United States Secretary of State under Presidents William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. Hay was also an author and biographer and wrote poetry and other literature throughout much of his life.
Born in Indiana to an anti-slavery family that moved to Illinois when he was young, Hay showed great potential, and his family sent him to Brown University. After graduation in 1858, Hay read law in his uncle's office in Springfield, Illinois, adjacent to that of Lincoln. Hay worked for Lincoln's successful presidential campaign and became one of his private secretaries at the White House. Throughout the American Civil War, Hay was close to Lincoln and stood by his deathbed after the President was shot at Ford's Theatre. In addition to his other literary works, Hay co-authored with John George Nicolay a multi-volume biography of Lincoln that helped shape the assassinated president's historical image.
After Lincoln's death, Hay spent several years at diplomatic posts in Europe, then worked for the New-York Tribune under Horace Greeley and Whitelaw Reid. Yet, Hay remained active in politics, and from 1879 to 1881 served as Assistant Secretary of State. Afterward, he remained in the private sector, until President McKinley, for whom he had been a major backer, made him Ambassador to the United Kingdom in 1897. Hay became Secretary of State the following year.
Hay served for almost seven years as Secretary of State under President McKinley, and after McKinley's assassination, under Theodore Roosevelt. Hay was responsible for negotiating the Open Door Policy, which kept China open to trade with all countries on an equal basis, with international powers. By negotiating the Hay–Pauncefote Treaty with the United Kingdom, the (ultimately unratified) Hay–Herrán Treaty with Colombia, and finally the Hay–Bunau-Varilla Treaty with the newly-independent Republic of Panama, Hay also cleared the way for the building of the Panama Canal.

It is the day after the 1996 November Presidential election. Mark jokes about the Clinton/Indonesian fundraising issue & Bob Dole's dour demeanor. He also expresses sympathy for Senator Larry Pressler who lost his bid for re-election to the Senate. (Pressler was rabidly against funding for PBS.)

Of course The Beatles were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But also...all four individual members have been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Today, the Beatles are widely considered to be the most influential band of all time. They defined an entire generation, and transformed popular music forever. Former Rolling Stone editor Robert Greenfield wrote: “in the form of popular music, no one will ever be more revolutionary, more creative and more distinctive.” The band even changed how people LISTEN to music. What’s particularly impressive about the Beatles is that were both critically acclaimed and extremely popular. Critics universally adored them, and oh they also just happened to be the best-selling musicians in the history of the world, selling more than 800 million albums worldwide. Probably no other musicians will ever accomplish what they accomplished. They are simply the greatest band of all time. Don’t believe me? Google “greatest band of all time” and see what comes up.
So, who was the true “Fifth Beatle?” Who is your favorite Beatle? What did I leave out? Obviously I can’t include everything in these videos so I do appreciate the additional information. Also, look for more of these in 2020. And I’ve decided I’m going to commit to release at least one video a month on this channel. Thanks for watching everybody!
