VDNKh, the BIGGEST SOVIET THEMED PARK in MOSCOW RUSSIA. 2019
VDNKh, the BIGGEST SOVIET THEMED PARK in MOSCOW RUSSIA. 2019.
Spanish/Swiss architect, structural engineer, sculptor and painter Santiago Calatrava called this sprawling facility the Soviet Versailles.
Opened in 1939, the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition displayed the best industrial, agricultural & cultural from the first days of its work. It features 400 sculptures, pavillions, cafés, a theater, and a concert stage. In June 1941, the exhibition center was shut down because of the war. Anti-aircraft artillery was deployed there and the pavillions were camouflaged with dark fabrics. Not a single bomb hit VDNKh during the war. The exhibition reopened in August 1954, the area was expanded, new pavilions and the arched main entrance were built, the fountains, Friendship of Nations and Stone Flower sprayed their watery plumes.
Today VDNKh ranks among the city's most popular public.

There are eight ships with 165 rescuers at the disaster site. They are searching the area in inflatable boats after air reconnaissance has been conducted and are trying to find anything that floats to the surface of the Black Sea. On the basis of what they find, conclusions will be drawn as to the causes of the accident.

The black boxes, it is the same (as with other parts of the aircraft). The site where the airplane crashed is over 1,000 metres in depth and to bring anything up from that far down is very difficult. Even if special submarine equipment is used, it is nearly impossible.

STORYLINE:
Russia's Emergency Reaction Group continued its efforts on Friday to recover wreckage and bodies from the Sibir Airlines passenger plane which crashed into the Black Sea one day earlier.
Rescue efforts are being co-ordinated from a control centre inside the Moscow-based Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Vladimir Goryachev, Head of the Emergency Reaction Group, said eight ships and a team of 165 rescuers were combing the surface of the sea for remnants of the plane, but explained that the deep waters were hampering salvage efforts.
There is little hope the plane's black box flight recorder would be recovered because the wreckage was at a depth of least one thousand metres (3,300 feet), meaning the cause of the disaster may never be known.
At least 78 people died when a Sibir Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to Novosibirsk exploded and plunged into the Black Sea.
So far, only 14 bodies, some personal belongings and pieces of the Tupolev 154 plane fuselage have been recovered.
Meanwhile, at the Moscow office of the Novosibirsk-based Sibir Airlines, people continued to buy tickets for flights, seemingly undeterred by President Vladimir Putin's assertion that terrorists may have caused the crash.
Technical failure and a stray Ukrainian missile fired during military exercises have also been mooted as potential causes of the mysterious explosion.

The famous Arctic explorer Fridtjof Nansen used to dream about the creation of the Land of the Future, in the centre of Siberia. The major city in this area should have been Yeniseysk.
The central theme of the film The Land of the Future is the life of a community of Old Believers at the watershed of two great rivers of Siberia, the Ob River and the Yenisey River, where the Ket-Kas Canal was constructed a hundred years ago. Has Nansen's dream come true? This is what the film shows us.

Ulaanbaatar Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.
Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia, a metropolis that is the pulsating heart of the country and combines the cultures of old with a lively feeling of stepping forward to new horizons. The spiritual centre of Mongolia once lay directly on the Peking -Irkutsk trading route, thus it became an important centre of trade. At that time the city was called ‘Urgöö’ and life was determined by the region’s monasteries and lamas. Subsequently, Chinese traders and workers, Russians - and even Europeans - settled in this area. Ganden Hyid is a pilgrimage destination for the faithful from all over Mongolia. They pray, and wind prayer mills and crowd into the main sanctuary. In the monastery’s main temple is a twenty six metre high statue, the Buddha Of Mercy, patron saint of Mongolia, that weighs twenty tons and is decorated with gold and gems. Almost fifty kilometres east of Ulaanbaatar is a leisure area for the inhabitants of the city, the Terej National Park, in which amid fine and protected nature, visitors can do what each Mongolian can do best - ride – across country and without limit! In Ulaanbaatar, the Nadaam Festival begins where virtuoso throat singers and horse headed fiddlers set the contestants in the right mood and a typical snake woman from Mongolia’s state circus school performs amazing acrobatic contortions. This has been an amazing visit to an exotic and little known world. And this capital city, with all of its incredible contrasts, seems almost unreal. But Ulaanbaatar is very much ‘here, now and heading for the future’!
