LOBSTERING and BREW BUS TOUR | Portland, Maine
DAY FOUR of my trip in partnership with Visit Maine I go lobstering with Lucky Catch. They teach us about lobsters, we bring some cages up, learn about the sexes, how to measure them and some guest even bought some lobsters.

Next I head to the Porthole restaurant for one of the best Twin Lobster Dinners you can find in Portland. The lobster is amazing but those scallops!!
After that we head on a tour with Maine Brew Bus tour to three breweries, Sebago, Mast Landing and Yes brewery. By far my favorite beer was the peanut butter stout at Mast Landing.
To end the day I headed to Liquid Riot Bottling Company to try more beers, eat their famous lobster roll and try some liquors! It was an amazing day!
I hope you loved this video! Have you been to Maine? Please let me know your favorite spots.

Brewing Maine CRAFT BEER (FULL Episode)
I suggest (if you're over 21) to crack open your favorite ice cold hauss, get sideways and enjoy watching the craft of craft beers here in Maine! Teagan heads to shipyard where they trust him making their classic Export Ale and head to Geaghans as well as talk with tasting room in the Portland area
Invade the Fort | Dallas Brew Bus
Panther Island Brewing, Wild Acre Brewing and Community Beer Company all lumped up into one epic bus adventure.
The Dallas Brew Bus is the best way to experience the Dallas Craft Beer scene. Not only is Matt, the head honcho, extremely knowledgable, but his passion bleeds over into every story he tells along the way. They very rarely do the same tour twice (they probably will if you ask nicely), so make sure you grab your tickets as soon as a tour pops up that peaks your beery tastebuds.
For the Invade the Fort tour, we started at Community to gather on the bus. We then headed west to Panther Island Brewing, where we had the brewery to ourselves. Sweet Fang was on tap, a very interesting Peanut Butter Stout that many non-dark beer drinkers were enjoying!
Wild Acre was next in the line up and one we were very much looking forward to. Their Red IPA, or India Red Ale, Tarantula Hawk had us sold form the beginning that this brewery would be one to keep your eyes on. This is a must stop brewery, the taproom and outside patio are the best of both worlds for enjoying quality craft beer.
Ending the day at Community Beer Company is never a bad idea. The Oaked Mosaic IPA and Razzy Wit were on tap, which we all pleasantly enjoyed. Their taproom is always a fun time, but we're sure you already know that.
Any questions about the beer? Let us know. We'll reach out to the brewers and get your questions answered. Pass along your thoughts and jump on a Dallas Brew Bus as soon as possible. You won't regret it.

Putting Maine Craft Beer on the Map - Sean Sullivan - Maine Brewers' Guild - Full Interview
The full length interview with Sean Sullivan, Executive Director of the Maine Brewers' Guild at the Sam Adams Brewing the American Dream speed coaching event hosted at O'Maine Studios in Portland, Maine.
Sean graciously accepted an interview on the fly and I was quite impressed with his knowledge of the economic landscape and craft beer's place within it. Have a listen!
The event was also organized by the Coastal Enterprise Institute in partnership with Maine Brewers' Guild, Greater Portland Council of Governments, Food Fork Lab, and ScaleUp Portland. The event consisted of six 20-minute sessions where local entrepreneurs signed up for a chance to sit down directly with an expert in areas like: Marketing and E-Commerce, Packaging, Sales and Distribution, Business Financing, Legal Advice.
Had a bit of a break from shooting interviews over the last couple months so this event proved a valuable reintroduction: trying to interview on the fly with a one-man setup (the gopro+gimbal and mic) and no prepared questions. Definitely pushed my brain connections to their limits and stumbled a bit along the way but overall I got some pretty good results from the event. I owe the generous people featured a big thanks for giving me the opportunity to chat on camera.
As of posting this, I have 2 more segments from the event going through editing so stay tuned for more (hit subscribe to help me out!).

Rising Tide Beer Company:
Rising Tide Brewing Company is a family-owned craft brewery located in Portland, Maine. We specialize in artisanal, hand-crafted ales brewed in small batches. Our beers are available in cans and on draft in our tasting room in Portland's East Bayside neighborhood and at select locations in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
Liquid Riot:
The Liquid Riot Bottling Company was established on the waterfront in Portland’s Old Port, just blocks from City Hall and the location of the Portland Rum Riot, in homage to those that fought for their beverage of choice. As Maine’s first Brewery/Distillery/Resto-Bar, we take all the passion and energy of these past riots and put it into our own liquids, bottled or on tap, made fresh locally for your enjoyment.
Central Provisions:
The name Central Provisions pays homage to the original name of Dana Street and the first use of the building. Daniel Fox, who worked for the East India Trading Company, constructed a building to be used as a storehouse for provisions. This federal style brick building was erected on the corner of Fore and Central Street (now Dana Street) directly on the Wharf. The East India Trading Company’s ships would sail directly up to the building and unload their goods such as cotton, silk, indigo dye, salt, saltpeter, tea, and opium. In 1874, the East India Trade Company was dissolved. Throughout history, 414 Fore Street has served many different purposes. A wine and bitters shop named Rufus and Son’s moved into the building in 1894. They moved across the street and a barrel top and burlap bags shop moved in. After that, it was home to E. Cory who sold local blacksmiths and wood workers tools and materials.
Blue Rooster:
Hip counter serve offering creative, elevated spins on hot dogs, sandwiches & tater tots. Great food, great value; friendly, helpful staff. Best hotdogs, falafel. All good.
Taco Escobar:
Authentic Mexican cuisine, craft beer, and exciting specialty cocktails! A fun atmosphere, casual and affordable. Taco Escovar is located in 548 Congress Street.

S1E2 | Maine Beer Company || Local Brew
In episode 2 of Local Brew, Matt heads to Portland, Maine, where he catches a ride on one of Maine's coolest tours, The Maine Brew Bus. He chats with co-owner Zach Poole about why he started the bus and where it takes riders. Then it's off to visit Maine Beer Company, where he meets one of the owners, Dan Kleban, to talk about his very hoppy craft beer. Then Matt meets brewery Mark Fulton, who quickly puts him to work loading grain into the grist case, so they can brew a batch of Mean Old Tom. After that, Matt gets down and dirty, cleaning the mash tun from the inside out. Then Dan takes him to the conditioning room where he explains the process of conditioning beer in the bottle. Next they head to the tasting room to sample some of their deliciously hoppy American craft beer, including King Titus (their newest release), Mean Old Tom, and Lunch IPA. After the tasting is done, Matt heads to one of Portland's best beer bars, Novare Res Bier Café, to talk beer with the locals. There he grabs a beer with the owner, Eric Michaud, and learns about his passion for craft beer. Yes it's a about a local brewery, local people, and great craft beer in this episode of Local Brew!

Four Things You Must Do in Portland, Maine
Lobster Rolls, Tours, and Lighthouse Views are part of the 4 things you must do when you visit Portland, Maine. Old Port is the hubbub of Portland. You will find lobster rolls in Old Port as well as several other restaurants in Portland. You are very close to the Two Lights Lighthouse as well as the Portland Head Light Lighthouse on Cape Elizabeth in Fort Williams Park. I will share the best walking tours; I'll tell you exactly where to see the best views of Casco Bay in Portland, Maine. I cannot wait to see Portland, Maine for more than a day.
My mom and I visited Portland, Maine and had the best Lobster Roll at Bite Into Maine. I can highly recommend Scales for an on-the-dock nice restaurant. Make reservations!! We had Bite Into Maine's lobster roll twice in a 24 hour period.
You must drive past Munjoy hill to see the wide spanse of creation along the East Promenade at Fort Allen Park. No entrance; just drive along Congress and you will dead end there. Huge playground, easy parking, lots of parking spaces easy for RVs, and great paths for a brisk walk while taking in the awesome views of Casco Bay.
Take a tour-the one we used is Maine Foodie Tours, but they offer art tours as well. Check their dates because of winter temps. They have a happy hour tour, a lobster crawl lunch tour, a culinary tour, and 12 more! We saw many bus tours but not for taking in the local food.
Visit the lighthouses - Cape Elizabeth. There is the Portland Head Light and the Two Lights Lightouses. Both are a quick 15 minute drive from Old Port in Portland, Maine.
Getting around Old Port in Portland, Maine is easy to do because it's pedestrian friendly. There is a slight incline off of Commercial Street in Old Port. Stay in Old Port because, again, everything happens in Old Port. Leave me a message about other sites you found!

Portland Maine Full Time RV (part 1) ???? | Changing Lanes!
In July 2018, we finally made it to Portland, Maine! We were excited to be meeting up with the first friends we ever made on the road (Randy & Sabrina) at Bayley's Camping Resort. Located in Scarborough, Maine, Bayley's was the most expensive campground we had been to yet! We paid about $90 a day to stay at Bayley's, which was way out of our normal comfort range! The campground would be great for families, but wasn't exactly our cup of tea…kids and chaos going on all around us. The park is huge (700 sites!) and does offer a long list of amenities - 4 pools, one adult- only pool, multiple playgrounds, activities for both kids and adults, kayaking, fishing and a huge general store with an impressive selection of beer and wine.
While in the area, we took several motorcycle rides! Our favorite ride was out to Prouts Neck Peninsula and to Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth. This was our first time riding in Maine and it did not disappoint! (neither did the lobster rolls!)
We also had a blast getting to spend time with Randy & Bri and having them show us around their home state! They took us to several of their favorite places including Maine Beer Company and the LL Bean Flagship Store.
During our stay in Portland, we also had the opportunity to meet up with some other friends we met in Savannah! Tim & Marie-Claire invited us over to their home on Bailey Island for a true New England lobster dinner!! It was a treat to learn how to cook and eat a lobster properly! If you watched our Mystic, CT video, you know how clueless we were on the subject. We had a wonderful time getting to know these two better and we had a lot of laughs while learning how to eat a lobster.
When we started diving into the editing of this video, we realized how much fun we had during this trip and decided to make Portland a two-part series! We wanted to be able to share all of our experiences with you, but didn't want to put out another hour-long video!
So, stay tuned for our Portland Part 2 video coming out in a couple of weeks!! We will share the awesome experience we had on a private foodie tour from Maine Foodie Tours (our friend Randy was the guide!), we take a ferry out to Peaks Island and much more
We absolutely loved the time we spent in Maine and hope you enjoy watching it, too!
