Tonight, the best player of 2016 out of Africa will be announced at the CAF African Footballer of the Year awards in Abuja, Nigeria. Heading up the three finalists is Liverpool midfielder Sadio Mane, making his first entry into the shortlist. Also nominated is last year's winner, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon. The Panthers captain won the award for the first time last year, and also finished in second place in 2014. And the third nominee is Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez. The 25 year-old was key in leading the Foxes to last year's incredible Premier League title. Meanwhile, Mahrez's national teammates have been continuing their preparations for the African Cup of Nations, holding a training camp in the capital Algiers.

Oracle Daily Nigeria Wins 8th AFCON Third Place Finish
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will not return home empty-handed as the team beat Tunisia 1-0 to win the third place position at the Africa Cup of Nations’ third place match played at the Al Salam Stadium, Cairo on Wednesday night.
It is the eighth time the Nigerian team will win the third place position. No team has grossed as much in the competition. The nearest to that is Cote d’Ivoire who had won the third-place battle four times in 1965, 1968, 1986 and 1994.
