Marple's Changing Face
A glimpse of the Marple of yesteryear - Marple's Changing Face was produced by the late Gordon Mills in 2003. Gordon was a prolific writer, photographer and local historian who produced several fascinating video interviews with local people, guided local history walks and this, the definitive photo history presentation of Marple's Changing Face.
It has been put on-line to share with the wider world by The Marple Website marple-uk.com with the permission of Gordon's family.

Open Air Preaching, Marple, UK #2 - The CGV
Paul Jennings preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in Marple. The opening shot is of me witnessing to a Mormon gentleman. As you can see from the video, he remained throughout the message and was quite ready to talk, even though at times our conversation became heated. It is so difficult to win the religious to Jesus, as they think they already have Him!

Victorian Fish Bar (1962)
Kensington, London.
At The Contented Sole fish bar has been decorated with all the trimmings of Queen Victoria's days.
C/U of chips being scooped out of a fryer onto a plate. M/S of the chef passing the plate to a waitress - both wear old fashioned clothes. M/S of the waitress taking the plate upstairs, in the foreground is a gramophone, stuffed fish hang on the wall.
She serves the food to a group of trendy young people. In the middle of all the diners a man in a bowler hat plays a honky tonk piano. Various shots of the diners, the food their eating and the piano player - giving the general impression this restaurant is a hip and swinging place (or plaice, even).
M/S of the chef dipping a raw fish in batter and placing it in the fryer. C/U of the chief smiling. He takes the cooked fish and places it in a special carrying box decorated with a newspaper print pattern. He passes the box over the counter to a young man. M/S of the man walking up the street with his posh fish and chips box.

Misty Marple | Trying out a Peak District Ride
A second attempt at a gimbal video, and a first ride in the Peak District. It's right on my door step but I've never actually ridden the mountain bike there, so it's time to start exploring it with a ride from the guide book Peak District Mountain Biking: Dark Peak Trails ( *)
The ride starts in Roman Lakes, heads south on the Goyt Way to Strines, then follows road, lanes and bridleways in the hills between Marple, New Mills, Rowarth, and Mellor.
