Hey Soul Sister - Live At The View Two Gallery, Mathew Street, Liverpool
My own arrangement of hey soul sister. Originally written and performed by the band Train on their album save me San Francisco. I feel that this is the best acoustic fingerstyle performance I have ever done and the whole gig that night I was in really good form, so I uploaded this as it got the most applause from the audience. I also performed a simplified arrangement on Billy Butlers BBC Merseyside show earlier that afternoon.

Liverpool City - استكشف مدينة ليفربول
Liverpool has attractions littered throughout the city and more museums and galleries than any other UK city outside of the capital. Each attraction is leading in its own right, but there seems to be a few ‘big hitters’ that everyone wants to know about.
We’ve got museums, galleries, unique historic buildings, arts centres and sport too!
Now there’s one thing that a trip to Liverpool just isn’t complete without, and that’s a trip on the ‘Ferry cross the Mersey’ – the views from the Mersey Ferries River Explorer Tour offer some of the absolute best views of Liverpool’s world famous waterfront. If you check far enough in advance, you might want to book on a special evening cruise that take place in the summer.
Stop off at Spaceport for all things intergalactic or the U-Boat Story for a fascinating insight into the World War II submarine.
If you’re a creature of culture, then you’ll need to make time for these SEVEN museums – yes, seven. National Museums Liverpool boasts World Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum, Walker Art Gallery, Lady Lever Art Gallery, International Slavery Museum, Sudley House and Museum of Liverpool - the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city.
The Albert Dockis one of the UK's finest heritage attractions – a walk around the quayside will take visitors passed little sweet stores, world-class museums including Tate Liverpooland The Beatles Story – yes, all things Beatles – and a number of bars and restaurants. For more Beatles, the Magical Mystery Tour leaves from the Albert Dock and takes fans to the famous sites of Strawberry Field and Penny Lane and ends at the Cavern Club. With the National Trust, you can even step inside Lennon and McCartney’s childhood homes. For even MORE of the Fab Four, head to the Magical Beatles Museum on Mathew Street to see over 300 pieces of Beatles related memorabilia.
For more music but less Beatles, you’ll want to wander over to the Pier Head and the British Music Experience that explores popular British Music from 1940 to present day.
Now, we mentioned historic buildings; they’re everywhere in Liverpool. But you’ll definitely want to add Liverpool Cathedral to your list. It’s Britain’s largest cathedral and a truly breath-taking place. If you can, book onto a tower tour and explore the highest vaults of the building – in summer you can catch the sunset from the tower.
Just hidden off Church Street is the Bluecoat; a contemporary arts centre that resides in a 300-year-old building, offering a programme of art, literature, music and dance. There’s also a lovely little garden outside and several local businesses there too.
Witness an engineering masterpiece that is the Mersey tunnels with Mersey Tunnel Tours, right beneath the depths of the Mersey River.
In Liverpool, we have more parks than Paris. Apart from being a bustling city, we have an amazing amount of green spaces. Sefton Park Palmhouse is the jewel in the crown of one of the city’s most-loved green spaces.
Across the water in Wirral is Port Sunlight Village, a beautiful chocolate box village, built in the 19th century solely for the workers at the Sunlight Soap factory workers. Step into Port Sunlight Museum to experience what it was like to live and work in the village.
Now, we've given you a lot to think about there!

Dreamboat
I recollect a poker hand
like bourbon over ice;
you rode me home in your mama's car
that night of mysteries.
White stars were falling in the air,
the harbor under snow;
and there she lay, her anchor down,
the dreamboat.
I sang ballads in books of matches
all eighty-one alone
till like the new year you hauled in
salvation from the east.
Oh and too soon the sky was red,
I heard a whistle blow:
she was steaming out into the dark,
the dreamboat.
The days stack up like sailor's mail,
the weather's fair for now;
I walk down to the waterfront,
a barge is sliding by.
I hang on to an image in
the absurd foam below:
roll back before it all dissolves,
oh dreamboat.
