Mandalay
Mandalay
This sprawling cultural centre is the most Burman of Myanmar's cities. It was the last capital of Myanmar before the British took over and is the country's second-largest city. Highlights of Mandalay include Shwenandaw Kyaung, the sole remaining building of the once extravagant moated palace.
Also look out for Mandalay Hill, with its spiralling stairways, temples and sweeping views; and the ancient Rakhine Buddha image at Mahamuni Paya. Bustling markets with produce and handicrafts from all over Upper Myanmar are another feature of Mandalay.
Here are market place photos.

UNIQUE Myanmar STREET FOOD TOUR in Yangon
I have a very unique Myanmar's Street Food tour. Myanmar Foods are really delicious that they really cook well. I have tried five dishes in Yangon which is the biggest city in Myanmar. You can try some of them if you go to Myanmar. But two things seriously you must try is Pickled Tea Leaf Salad and Mohinga. Specially Pickled Tea Leaf Salad can go really well with beer.
1. Pickled Tea Leaf Salad (Lahpet)
Location :
It is very unique food because they use tea as a salad. Fermented Pickled Tea with nuts and vegetables has a very unique taste.
2. A typical Myanmar meal
Location :
If you order the main dish like meat or fish, you would get side dishes like salad, soup, and vegetables for free. You can have it for lunch or dinner. Usually, Myanmar cooks well that always it has good taste.
3. Noodle Salad
Location :
It is served with salad, vegetable, and a few different seasonings. This dish is good for a snack cause it is a light meal.
4. Pork Offal Skewers (Wet Thar Dote Htoe)
Location :
It is pork offal cooked in light soy sauce. The meat placed on the stick includes the internal organs of the pig including its intestine, liver, kidney, spleen, heart, lungs, tongue and even the skin and cartilage. At first, you dip the stick into a soup and then dip into chili sauce. Soup has a really deep flavor.
5. Mohinga
Location :
It is a rice noodle and fish soup. It is the national dish you must try if you go to Myanmar. Usually, it is eaten for breakfast. Every region cooks the different way that if you travel whole Myanmar, you can taste different Mohinga.

Bagan Myanmar & Fascination
Bagan holidays in Burma (Myanmar) exploring monuments, pagodas and temples, architecture and how the whole fits together much more info is here:
with great pictures and videos. Bagan, bordering to the east bank of the mighty Ayeyarwady or Irrawaddy River is a wide dry plain area with countless religious Buddhist monuments. This is a totally unique area much larger and diverse as any places elsewhere on the globe including Egypt and the temples of Mayas and Incas. Everyone visiting Myanmar or Burma should spend a few days in the ancient city of Bagan on the east bank of the Irrawaddy river this is the right travel destination for a culture trip. One of the best day trips from there is to Mount Popa. Most tourists do this journey since it opens up a better understanding of the country.

This is Bagan
There is a place
Far to the East
Where sunrises
And sunsets
Still burn bright
For long forgotten kings.
A warring king
Took a peaceful land,
Was touched by their ways,
And made his demands.
He learned their trades
And took their king
To teach him the art
Of inner peace.
A lifetime of labor,
A labor of love,
A king with a mission,
For the payas
He dreamed of.
A city, a people
A culture transformed
From scrolls of Thaton
The land was reborn.
Feel your heart beating
With the rhythm of the land
Feel your soul rising
Like the ebb and flow
Of the mighty Irrawaddy.
Stand tall with kings.
Walk with the wise.
Uncover the majesty.
Two millennia of history
Raw and exposed.
Untouched lands-
This is Bagan.

Riding The Burma Death Train From Nam Tok to The River Kwai, Thailand
The train arrived. Thais and foreigners ran to board. There are two cars for foreigners/westerners only, thank God, otherwise it would have been a madhouse fighting for a sight with all the school groups.
The train has hard wooden sights and open windows. Sit on the right sight of the train for the big sights and run quickly across to the left side for other perspectives. The train was slow, noisy and jolty. The party-like atmosphere was rather disconcerting (including me humming the Colonel Bogey March) when I stopped to think how many men lost their lives building the tracks.
