Residence ot Abylai Khan is located in Petropavlovsk

city in the North Kazakhstan province. Archival documents confirm the construction of the Abylai’s residence in autumn 1765. This is a historic complex, which includes an office, Khan’s chambers and a guest house. «Abylai’s White Houses is a museum about the life and work of the great Khan, visitors can see the documents, related to the reign of Abylai on its halls, which give an idea of his public efforts to preserve the independence and territorial integrity of the Kazakh land.
Confirmation by the archival documents of the construction of Abylair’s residence in the autumn of 1765 is an example of reconstruction of distant events that are of particular importance for reconstruction of the objective history of Kazakhstan. These studies were conducted in the first phase of the State program of «Cultural Heritage». Decrees, reports, letters from the archives, signed by the highest ranks of the Russian Empire and are now represented in the halls of «Residence of Abylai Khan» irrefutably show the great political heft of Abylai Khan at a time when Russia and China were fighting for the influence in the vast area of Asia. Historical documents, presented in the museum, objectively reflect the development of Kazakhstan-Russian relations. Today the doors of the Residence of Abylai Khan are opened for all visitors in Petropavlovsk city.

basKamyr hillfort
Baskamyr hillfort is located 83 km to the north-west of Zhezkazgan city in Karaganda province. Dated to the X-XII cc., Baskamyr hillfort is the remains of a medieval castle, surrounded by walls with three powerful citadel and flanking towers. The hillfort is associated with the construction activities of Kipchaks. There is a burial ground Baskamyr, consisted of two mazars and a burial of the late Middle Ages around and in the settlement.
A guard tower, the remains of an irrigation system, a separate building, and the cave-mine are related to the time of existence of the settlement.
