Osor (Canal) Bridge /Between the Islands of Cres and Mali Lošinj

This bridge connects the Islands of Cres and Mali Lošinj. Bridge is opened every day at 9 AM and 5 PM to let boats pass the canal instead of sailing arround the islands (recorded on 3/22/2012.).

Koncert Puhačkog orkestra Josip Kašman u Osoru, osorskom kanalu 17.07.2012. u 17,00 sati kod otvaranja mosta za prolaz brodica, a sve kao najavu održavanja 37. Osorskih glazbenih večeri.

Na mjestu gdje su se otok Lošinj i Cres najviše priljubili smjestio se OSOR, gradić koji je u antička vremena doživio svoj trenutak slave. Zahvaljujući prokopanom kanalu (Cavata, Kavuada, Cavanella), koji je omogućavao prolaz i plovidbu iz jednog mora u drugo, ovdje se u prošlosti odvijao glavni tranzitni promet između Sjevernog Jadrana i dalmatinske obale, što je od Osora učinilo internacionalnu luku.

Camping Poljana - Losinj- Croatia

- Campsite Poljana is located on the island Losinj, 4km before the city Mali Losinj.

It is part of the tourist chain Baia Holiday and is run environmental friendly. Majority of Poljana is located on the eastern side of the island, only smaller part (that is visible from the road) is located on western side of the island, where pitches are arranged in narrow track between the sea and road.

Camping Poljana is offering camping on arranged camping pitches, rental of mobile homes, bungalows and glamping tents.

Pitches are arranged in terraces and almost all have connections for electricity and water. Some parts are well shaded, while the pitches located closer to the sea are more sunny. Part of the pitches is arranged on western side (across the road).

Central beach in camping has smaller pebbled bay, the other parts are rocky. Here you will find as well concrete parts for sunbathing and stairs for easier entrance to the sea. Part of the beach is reserved for naturist lovers and part of camping guests with dogs.

Camping Poljana has four sanitary facilities that are adjusted to kids and disabled guests as well as family bathrooms. Daily animation is organized for children as well as various sport games. There is children's playground, artificial climbing wall and trampoline. Town Mali Losinj can be reached with bike, bus and even boat taxi in summer.

In Poljana you can find shop, renovated restaurant, pastry shop, bar and internet corner. On part of the campsite wireless Internet is available.

Camp has arranged 120 mooring places for boats as well as ramp for lowering boats into the water (as well as lifting them from the sea). A dry marine is organized as well.

Dunja Jankovic, the creator of the Škver Art Project, presents it as a multimedia, social sculpture, and based on the work process. In fact, it is located in a shipyard in the small island of Lošinj, and with the years the employees have always been more involved in the Project's works of experimental art.
Besides Dunja Jankovic, other artists such as Goran Škofic, Marijan Crtalic and Mario Kolaric have been interviewed.

Osor - island Cres, Croatia
Osor lies at a narrow channel that separates islands Cres and Lošinj. The channel was built in Roman times to make sailing possible. Now the islands are connected with a rotating bridge. Originally Cres and Lošinj were one island, Osor, before the channel was cut. The first settlements of the area date in the prehistoric times. In Roman times, Osor, then called Apsoros, was an important center of trade on the route to the ports of Northern Adriatic. After the fall of Roman Empire, Osor became a part of Byzantine Empire and was a seat of diocese since the 6th century.

Weekend trip on islands in northern part of Kvarner gulf: with ferry on island Cres (Kersch, Cherso) - town of Cres - village Valun - ancient village Lubenice with amazing view of the open sea and neighboring islands - along Vransko lake - village Osor (Ossero) and short bridge to island Lošinj (Lötzing, Lussino) - town of Mali Lošinj (Lussinpiccolo) - narrow harbour in town of Veli Lošinj (Lussingrande) - back north to good hotel in fishing village Nerezine - tomorrow back north to Cres island - short ride to Punta Križa village - ferry from small port town Merag - Valbiska village on island Krk (Veglia, Vegl, Kyrikon) - road D104 to town of Krk - road D102 and than northeast to village Vrbnik (Vörbnick, Verbenico) and surrounding vineyards - village Šilo - local roads to Omišalj (Moschau, Castel Muschio) - over the Krk Bridge (originally named Tito's bridge) back to mainland - road D8 to Bakar (Buccari) - road D40 and D3 to Grobnik racetrack - bach home to Zagreb.
That was very good weekend.
