NEIL DIAMOND - Concert In Dublin Ireland (Live-2002) (HD)
Concert In Dublin Ireland 2002...
A video tour inside the new Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin
Dublin has gotten a surfeit of new theatres in recent years (Helix, Project, Blanch, Ballymun, Tallaght, Dundrum, etc.)
The latest is definitely the most spectacular. Designed by Daniel Libeskind, the architect of the Twin Towers replacement in New York.
The auditorium is wonderful. A huge space with a massive stage & a complete orchestra pit.
A good start was had with Swan Lake, and the Russian State Ballet.

The New Theatre is committed to providing young artists, performers, writers, directors and technicians with a first-rate venue and with the professional and technical expertise that will enable them to develop artistically and achieve their potential. We seek to do this in a collegiate, respectful and cooperative environment that supports innovation, imagination and shared learning.
Across the range of our endeavours and through a varied programme of contemporary and classical theatre, we seek to provoke debate and to stimulate engagement and interest among our audiences. We strive to question, to entertain, to enliven and to enlighten our audiences; and in doing this, we seek to give both our artists and our audiences access to Irish theatre -- particularly young people who might not otherwise have access to this rich heritage.

‘Punt’ is a story of gambling culture in Ireland, following one man on the slippery slope to rock bottom after a lifetime of small bets, race meetings, online gauntlets, high stakes card games and the unspoken challenges that go with a life of ‘investing’ in chance.

HOME at the New Theatre Dublin Needs Your Support!
HOME, a new play written by Megan O'Malley, co-produced by Handy Baker Theatre and the New Theatre needs your support!
Click the link to make a donation :-)
The HOME team are Dublin-based artists collaborating with the New Theatre, Temple Bar and with dramaturgical support from the Arts Council, Ireland. HOME was first presented during the Scene + Heard Festival 2017 as a work in progress and was warmly accepted by the audience, who's post-shows debates extended long into the night after the performance had finished.
HOME will be performed in full length in the New Theatre from January 22nd - February 3rd 2018. The play tackles important and hyper-relevant topics with a focus on the grey areas of consent and abortion rights in the legal system.
The best thing about HOME? You get to decide Anna's fate. The audience hold the power in this four-hander, acting as jury for Anna's trial. Love a chance to practise voting? The ending of HOME is in your hands. The script will present to you both sides of the story, including facts on how a case like Anna's works in Ireland, and it's up to you to decide.
There are quite a few costs that come alongside presenting a play for two weeks, including set, lighting, costume, marketing and administration costs. While we are a frugal bunch, well un-used to government funding, we still need to raise some money to support HOME on it's journey. Every penny of any donation, big or small, will be going towards our production costs, as listed above, and we have plenty of lovely perks for all of our generous supporters!

Choreography by John Scott, Music by Ryan Vail, Dancers: Salma Ataya and Mufutau (Junior) Yusuf. Two compelling dancers: Mufutau Yusuf, an Irish man born in Nigeria and Salma Ataya, a Palestinian contemporary and Dabka dancer, attempt to run 1,000 kilometres in patterns through the performance space, chasing dreams, memories and home. Choreography by John Scott, Original music by Ryan Vail. Originally commissioned by Galway International Arts Festival, Cloud Study has run in Galway, Dublin and Limerick.
“Cloud Study” brings the thunder, delivering a downpour full of powerful and mesmerising moments …. beautifully choreographed and powerfully resonant”
Chris O’Rourke/The Arts Review
“Scott strikes all of our senses, with beautiful, energetic movement, repetition and strong monologue, playing with voice and sound and weaving this together with musician Ryan Vail’s dream-like score…. Scott is bravely attempting to reposition modern dance in Ireland, through his challenging themes and his captivating choreography ….. The work is simple, bold and theatrical, and he’s paving a path for more exciting work and a tantalising new chapter for contemporary dance in Ireland.”

Review: Blood in the Dirt, New Theatre, Dublin
A dark episode from Ireland's emigrant history makes for fine drama in the hands of Rory Gleeson, writes Alan O'Riordan. The story of the “Black” Donnellys, their feuds, and the eventual murder of five family members by a mob of townspeople in Ontario, is a famous piece of 19th-century Canadian fron...
