Phillip Island - The Nobbies Boardwalk
Here's some bonus footage from our day trip to Phillip Island. Due to the high winds that day it was difficult to get decent audio so we compiled this short video of some scenic shots at the Nobbies boardwalk. Enjoy this weeks Bonus guys and see you next week with all new content :-)
The Nobbies, Phillip Island - VIC, Australia
We love coming to The Nobbies every time we visit Phillip Island. 'The Nobbies' is a big rock formation on the south-western tip of Phillip Island. This is also known as 'Seal Rocks' as it is the home of Australia's largest fur seal colony.
We love to walk along the boardwalk and look at the waves crashing and all of the sea birds. If you get lucky, sometimes you get to see a Little Penguin!

I went for a walk on the path that lets you see The Nobbies, Seal Rocks, and The Blowhole along the coast of Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. It is near the site of the Penguin Parade. Shot in August 2017.

Exploring the Nobbies Phillip Island
Come with us exploring the Nobbies Phillip Island, just 90 minutes drive from Melbourne in Victoria. The Nobbies is a dramatic piece of coastline on the South Western tip of Phillip Island. You also get some great views of seal rocks, just off the coast line. Don't be surprised if you spot a fur seal or 2.
Phillip Island is the favourite holiday destination for Melbourne locals. It is just over an hour away, and has some dramatic coastal scenery. And one of the best is the Nobbies, which includes a fantastic boardwalk and blowhole.
We follow the boardwalk at the Nobbies out to the blowhole. Along the way we encounter some of the local wildlife including penguins, wallabies, mutton birds and other sea birds. When we arrive at the blowhole we see the explosive eruptions of water exiting this cave like feature of the coastline.
It's only about a 10 minute walk from the nobbies car park to the blowhole, and there are a few stairs on the way. Afterwards you can stick around to check out the Nobbies information centre.
The boardwalk to the Nobbies is very exposed to the wind from the ocean. You need to make sure you have sufficiently rugged up with good clothing. I suggest you bring a thick jacket, as it will be colder than the surrounding areas.
This is one of the premier must see attractions at Phillip Island, Victoria.

Just a two hours' car ride from Melbourne, Phillip Island is the place to get up close and personal with animals and nature (more than just penguins)!
Here's our complete Phillip Island guide:
00:16 - Churchill Island Heritage Farm
This is the site of Victoria’s very first farm! Some of the original cottages still stand and its restored homestead still houses a variety of farm animals — geese, horses, cattle, sheep, etc.
Farming demonstrations happen at 2pm daily!
00:33 - Island Walks
Conquer one of the island's walking trails to get spectacular views of the island!
00:39 - Koala Conservation Centre
We all love our furry friends! Get up close to the koalas here, but please be mindful of their space and safety, as much as yours!
00:53 - Wild Ocean Ecoboat Tours
If you're up for the thrill, get on one of these high speed boat tours. You'll get to spot lots of seals at Australia's largest seal colony.
01:17 - Antarctic Journey at the Nobbies
At the Nobbies Antarctic Centre, the interactive exhibition is filled with hands-on learning experiences about the Antarctic region and its residents.
01:28 - Penguin Parade
Spot the penguins emerging from the sea as they head back towards their burrows. Fun fact: They're the smallest penguins in the world!
