Around the Corner with John McGivern | Program | Watertown (#603)
[Latest Airdate: October 12, 2017]
[Original Airdate: January 19, 2017]
Watertown has everything you could ask for in an episode, and John asked for a lot. He asked to go up on the roof of the best octagon house he's ever seen. He asked a member of the oldest Civil War band in the world to polka. He asked the CEO of the largest lawnmower blade manufacturer in the United States for a lunch break. He asked Kenn Fox of Paramount Guitars to let him play a very expensive guitar, and he asked his TV crew not to save his life if he were to fall into the manure pit at Rosy Lane Holsteins. It's as varied as wonderful as it sounds. Enjoy Watertown --- John sure did!

The Schempf Building: Dedication as an official Watertown, WI historic landmark
A formal dedication of the Schempf building as an official Watertown historic landmark took place on Friday, June 26 at 2 p.m. During this dedication ceremony, a plaque was presented to Bill Lindborg of Long Beach, CA, who purchased the building last year and is in the early stages of a full-scale restoration of the property. Watertown Mayor John David and Watertown Historic Preservation Commission Chairwoman Melissa Lampe presented a plaque to Lindborg, and talked about the importance of the designation as a local historic site. This event was sponsored by the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Following the plaque presentation, Lindborg talked about the history of the building and the Schempf family, of which he is a descendant. Debbie Skalitzky of the Dodge/Jefferson Counties Genealogical Society also talked about the research that was conducted through that organization to trace Lindborg’s extensive historical family roots in Watertown.
To conclude Friday’s presentation, Chamber of Commerce/Main Street Program Executive Director Susan Dascenzo provided an overview of the local Main Street program, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary as a Wisconsin Main Street Community this year.

Cymbal.mpg
This video was captured in the poltergeist house in Watertown WI. It was taken in the basement. There are two investigators down there at the time of recording. The weird thing is that they never heard this cymbal type noise while they were down there. It was only captured once on this camera and wasn't picked up on our digital recorders either. The sound occurs around the 7 second mark.
