Ruthie exploring Abandoned building in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
While visiting family in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, I went to go see the lighthouse ruins by myself. Everyone told me to stay away from there because it's dangerous, women have been assaulted, etc. Nearby, there are some abandoned buildings. I explored the largest of these and there was a man in a red shirt who was in there. It seemed like he saw me enter the building and followed me in. I was filming video on my camera because I it felt like a fun horror movie thing, and I LOVE horror movies. So this might have been a dangerous situation, but I never felt afraid. You can see the man walking by clearly at 0:30 and you can see his shadow at 1:37. Hope viewers will find it creepy. I am also talking on the video, but I'm not sure how much you can hear. Enjoy!
Driving in Puerto Rico - Northwest Clockwise - Aguada | Aguadilla | Moca
After taking a drive around Rincón I decided to do a clockwise drive between Aguada, Aguadilla, and the mountainous municipality of Moca. I visited the Old Spanish Lighthouse destroyed by the 1918 earthquake. The extra rubble seen on this video represents debris from the ruins thanks to the forceful winds of Hurricane Maria in 2017. Thereafter I drove to Moca passing through the southern part of Isabela and back to Aguadilla on Highway 111. Enjoy and thank you.

Videography and drone footage was beautifully done by FAA certified Marquez Photography. AJR Photo Studios were photographers.

Featured Location - The Ruins - Perfect for Puerto Rico Sunset Wedding
Ruinas Faro Punta Borinquen, or simply The Ruins, is one of the most historic and unique spots in Puerto Rico, as well as a truly magical spot for Puerto Rico destination weddings and elopements on the beach.
An elaborate lighthouse was built on this location by the Spanish in 1889. In 1918, an earthquake struck the area and damaged the beautiful building irreparably. Over the past century, nature has reclaimed The Ruins, enhancing its rustic beauty.
Not only are The Ruins perfect for a Puerto Rico sunset wedding, the photo opportunities are endless both on the property as well as the deserted beach where it sits. Take a look at our video, and contact us for more details about having your Puerto Rico destination wedding at sunset at The Ruins!
Puerto Rico Wedding of Elizabeth & Calvin
This breathtakingly beautiful Puerto Rico wedding was planned and performed by Puerto Rico Destination Weddings (prdestinationweddings.com) at the stunning Lighthouse Ruins in Aguadilla, in the northwest BQN area of Puerto Rico. The videography for this Puerto Rico wedding was beautifully done by Marquez Photography.
Elizabeth and Calvin contacted us in preparation for their vacation to Puerto Rico with their adorable son Ricky. They wanted a simple and beautiful Puerto Rico wedding in a stunning location on a deserted beach - The Ruins were perfect for them.
Like many of the couples with whom we work here at Puerto Rico Destination Weddings, they wanted to get married in Puerto Rico in a way that was legal, easy, beautiful and intimate. Our Puerto Rico elopement package provided all that - and more. We recommended a hair and makeup artist, and hired a great photographer, AJR Photo Studios, and our amazing videographer, Marquez Photography, to complete the team. All they had to do was show up! Located in the BQN area of Puerto Rico (Aguadilla and Isabela) The Ruins is west facing, and on a deserted beach, perfect for a Puerto Rico sunset beach wedding.
The Puerto Rico elopement package that Elizabeth and Calvin chose from Puerto Rico Destination Weddings includes:
-full legal and documentation support, including checklists of exactly what you need to prepare and when in order to get married in Puerto Rico
-a customized ceremony in keeping with exactly what you want your wedding experience to be
-registration of your marriage afterwards at the appropriate government office (you need not accompany us)
-one hour’s professional photography time with full release of all photos afterwards within one week
-2 witnesses
They also chose to include our videography option, including drone footage. Delivered within two weeks, this video allowed them to share the wonderful experience they had for their Puerto Rico wedding.
Their words in a very nice review say it all - If you are thinking about getting married in Puerto Rico, Ashely is the person you want to handle the ceremony. She eliminates any added stress and always quick to respond to all questions/concerns. Follow her guidance for obtaining a marriage license and it really only takes about 10 min. We did our paperwork in San Juan and the process was very smooth. As for the Wedding itself, we had it at The Ruins. It was amazing. Ashley had everything set up and was ready once we arrived. Her photographer and video crew do amazing work and are very professional. Hands down a class act, and a great experience.
Congratulations, Elizabeth and Calvin, and your beautiful family! We wish you all the best in your new lives together, and we hope to welcome you back to enjoy our BQN life time and again!

Exploring Puerto Rico's Old Ruins!
Guided by our friend, Josh, we took a golf cart to the Sugar Mill Ruins. Sugar was a giant export for Vieques from the early 1800's to the 1920's. All that's left now are the very decayed ruins where you can see interesting doorways, stairs, and underground walkways.

March House-hunting Trip to Aguadilla- turned into scenic trip
We'll be moving to the Aguadilla area later this Spring (2018) or summer. We took a trip to look at some houses to rent (or buy), but that was kind of a bust. We ended up sightseeing and having a good time together (minus our 13 year old twins, who stayed home this trip).
Aguadilla seems to be a nice area. We visited Pena Blanca for the first time this trip. Other nice beaches in the area are Borinquen beach where there are lighthouse ruins (las ruinas). Crashboat beach is to the south of where we were at Pena Blanca.
Then we went up north further, near Jobos beach. There is a resort we stayed at when Emily and I came house hunting last year- Villa Montana- it was a very nice resort, we highly recommend a stay there. They had a nice gazebo for beach weddings too. Great restaurant too.
