LARGEST FISH FACTORY VESSEL IN THE WORLD ARRESTED AND SEIZED
Agents from the Peruvian Environmental Prosecutor’s Office boarded the Damanzaihao on the night of May 30th, 2018, as part of an federal criminal investigation based on presumed acts of illegal fishing. Acting on a formal request filed by the Ministry of Environment, the Environmental Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the vessel detained pending further investigation.
The new criminal case is predicated on the same acts of illegal fishing – proven beyond all dispute – that led to the imposition of a multi-million dollar administrative fine in 2016. In addition, Peruvian authorities have also accused the Damanzaihao of polluting the marine environment through the illegal discharge of fluids and effluents while anchored in Chimbote.
Over the past week, the Damanzaihao has twice requested permission to leave port in an obvious attempt to escape the tightening noose. On April 20, 2018, Sea Shepherd delivered a formal letter to the Peruvian Ministry of Production (the agency that issued the multi-million dollar fine) imploring the government to take additional steps to ensure the ship pay for its crimes.
The Damanzaihao is the largest fish factory vessel in the world, capable of processing 547,000 tons of fish per year.
Sea Shepherd Vessel M/V John Paul DeJoria was recently in Peruvian waters, investigating and gathering intelligence to assist the Peruvian Government in its fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (“IUU”) Fishing.

Wilmar Sugar took over the Proserpine Sugar mill a few years ago. I was always fond of their yellow/red paint scheme. Given the homogenizing of the Queensland sugar industry into 3 big groups, it is only a matter of time before these unique schemes fade from the scene. My goal this year was to get as much activity of locos in the old scheme as possible, and I was fairly successful.

the township of port noarlunga was originally settled as a port for the produce from the proposed market town of Noarlunga . meaning it was name after the township of noarlunga and its a port for boats . The name No-orlunga supposedly comes from the Kaurna word meaning 'fishing place
wheat farming, and a flour mill was built in the old noarlunga town in 1843 along with wharves used to transport produce down the Onkaparinga River to Port Noarlunga via barge.

Re-enacting Retro - Older National Park Service Museum film from the early 1980s. I am guessing on the production date, but it does include some footage from the great NPS film Antietam Visit from 1981 so I assume this was produced and completed sometime after 1981, but it feels like something from the 1970s. I nice little film.

This is another in a series of postings on our YouTube channel of a cool New series of Old videos -- featured only on here -- taken from a personal collection of re-enacting films and videos from the 1980s that can't be found anywhere else, or else we've tried to find them for nostalgia's sake, but did our own digging and presenting the results of our treasure hunt here. Taken from VHS originals or DVD transfers from those VHS copies. Originals were in Standard Def or Videotaped off of TV when they first aired. Some shot professionally and others by individuals with portable home video cameras on their shoulders.
Some Classic Re-enacting videos are already searchable on YouTube, but we wanted to start a new series of some rarely or never before seen classics that either only aired once or where short lived and available only to a select few at the time.
